I don't have "Google voice " as an input option under Settings-> language & input.
I added a new keyboard (Go keyboard" ) and the mic is there and i was able to use it. So i assume that the ICS Keyboard is broken.
Here are the more details:
the keyboard that is included in JMT9 by default is "ICS Keyboard v 2.0.1" and i could not get the mic to show up on it.
The GO keyboard has the mic and it's working fine.
the "ICS keyboard " by johntanmi ( free version ) has the mic but it's not working.
GO keyboard is a bit too much for me . looking for something more streamlined. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Google Now Commands
Google Now works with network (and GPS) on all the time. To activate, long press home button and 'G' point (the middle button), use menu and parameter, here you can active google now. You must also activate Search history in your google account or google now parameter.
After you activate google now, on parameter you have new entry for what to use.
Google now is a sort of assistant, he can show you the wheater based on your location, the next appointment based on the calendar, the next show, based on your internet search, and so on.
But there is no widget, so it's as useful as it's intend to be.
When i want to send email,,nothing,,google now just open google search with text ..send email etc...So how to send emails with voice?
Tnx
In fact for me works only google search with voice and weather card.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
There are 2 locations I changed the language:
1. Go to system settings > Language and Input > Language > choose English US
2. When in Google Now press Menu > Settings > Voice > Language > choose English US

Don't know if this will do what you want, but it's worth a shot.
Bring up google now, hit menu and select Phone Search
Uncheck People
This -should- keep google now from bringing up your contacts, but I haven't tried it so I don't know for sure.
Good luck!

Yeah tried that it doesn't stop the voice dial when you push the Bluetooth button... all previous builds would let you choose a default action for that button but gnow just takes over no matter what.... i wish there was a way to choose the default...

Perhaps you could delete Google search from your current rom, then extract Google search from an ics rom and install it

[Q] Offline Speech Recognition

Hi all,
Is there any way of setting up offline speech recognition on the One V? I am using Pacman, and the option to download the pack is not on Google Now's menu as it should be.
There's no need to "download" the voice recognition pack. You just need jellybean, voila! You have offline voice recognition. Just tap the mic button on the keyboard and you are good to go...

Nope. I have Android 4.1.2, however if I do as you say, I get a "google is out of reach" message. I am using pacman 19.3 and the language is brazilian portuguese.

Change voice command?

Is there a way to change the keyword to launch the voice commands instead of "OK Google"? I want to be able to chose my own keyword.

Actually you can. There is an app called Open Mic+ on the Play Store that can do this.

It was my understanding that Google removed support for the Open Mic+?? Has anyone done this and had it work? I'd change mine to K.I.T.T. in a nanosecond if i can.

The app still works but Google removed their voice engine so the app uses a different engine now.

Any way to install previous version of Samsung keyboard?

I really liked the Samsung keyboard and I'm not really digging any of the alternative options, is there any way to install the note 5 or s7 version of the Samsung keyboard to get Google voice typing back? Or any way to direct this one away from S voice and to Google voice typing?
I gave up and went back to the Google keyboard

I still much prefer Sywpe over all the other keyboards myself. Tried Samsung's and Google's but neither were as good IMO.
SwiftKey or bust. On every phone for many years now.

I get the same thing as you. I disable the Samsung voice and don't get the option for google voice. Also reset the samsung keyboard and no change.
