[Q] Installing theme's onto TRWP ? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to figure out how to apply new theme's to TWRP 2.2.2.1 - have a couple theme's but not sure how to use them. They are *.zip files. Any help would be much appreciated !!
Thanks

If I remember correctly, you have to create a folder called themes in your TWRP folder and unzip it there.

Don't unzip should be named ui .zip and goes on twrp/theme on internal sd

I posted this in my theme thread, but here goes...
Using 7-zip or WinRAR, take a look inside the downloaded theme zip file. In there browse to the /system/framework and /system/app folders - these are the files that get installed.
What you need to do is make a note of the file names, then go to your phone and make a copy of the same files from /system/framework and /system/app to a folder on your sdcard.
Then copy this folder over to your pc.
Make a copy of the theme zip and call it e.g. mybackup.zip. Open mybackup.zip and copy the files you've backed up into their respective folders, overwriting the ones that are already there.
Close 7-zip/WinRAR and you're done.
Backup created. You can flash it using ClockworkMod recovery.
Each theme replaces different files. You need to check each time you want to try a new theme if you have the right files backed up that the theme is going to overwrite - if you hope to go back to 100% now it was before.

[Q] Stuck in clockwork mod and Cyanogenmod7

Hi Guys,
Please help me.
I followed the steps in this site to install cyanogenmod 7.
(Xda won't let me post the site)
However, I am stuck in the last part. I did the back up and etc.
I am now in the reboot stage of Clockwork recovery.
However, when i selected install zip from sdcard ---> choose zip from sd card
the file cannot be found..
It says no files found.
Plz Help Thank you
Mike
Did you place the zip file on the root of your sd card & not inside a folder?

It don't matter if its in a folder it not.. I always download straight from my phone and leave it in downloads folder.. also can be renamed after the date of a nandroid but make sure to add .stock or .rc4 or whatever.. no spaces and keep the dates, don't know about renaming the whole thing yet.. anyways, your problem seems odd

Put it in the root of your sd card make sure its a .zip and a problem I had waz there was a space at the end of .zip.but make sure that u have downloaded the whole rom I downloaded cm7 for the first time and almost bricked my phone cause I kept trying to flash part of a rom...tip: download file then download through a mirror (if provided) and check size of file.

Viper Rom Synergy 5.0

Fonts on Froyo are stored in /system/fonts/
The two files to overwite using Root Explorer or w/e would be DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf. Make sure to copy the originals in case you ever want to revert.

[Q] system folder and lang cahnge in MIUI rom.

from the headline, where is it? am i blined?
anothre thing, where do i find the build.prop file in the system folder, so i can change the lang in my phone?
thanks for any help.
p.s
sorry for any english mistake-not my prime lang.
Hi
To view system folder u will need root explorer or similar file manager. Inside the system folder is build.prop
Ordinary file managers will only show SD content.prob why you can't see it, there is prob a free file manager also but I only use root explorer as I find it very good.
Hope that helps

i use ASTRO file manager. am i loking at the wrong place?
Astro only views SD card contents, you need one that will view phone file s
The system folder is on ur phone not SD
Download file expert from market that's free
Open it ,on local tab just press back arrow in top right corner, then click the back slash this will bring you too all files.
Then click system
Hope that helps

you are great! works fine.
how can i replace it with another build.prop file from my PC?
Not sure from PC assume it would be thru adb but I don't no much about it
U can do it manual just put it on ur SD then copy and paste it to ur system folder ,make sure permissions match the original
Try root browser lite its free and works much better than file expert allows copy paste moving and permission changes.
Long press on files for all options

Themes. Where to get them?

Hello.
It has been mentioned in a number of reviews of the P6 that there is a selection of a large number of themes for the device. Does anyone know where this is and/or how to get these themes?
I rather like the default dark brushed aluminium theme myself, but I wouldn't mind having a look at some of these other themes...

Here you can download themes. If they are downloaded in .zip format just change the extension to .hwt
Then move this file to HWThemes on your sdcard. The theme should be automatically recognised now.

Need a root explorer+sqlite editor (like SQLite editor)
Go to /data/user/0/com.android.providers.settings/databases/ and execute settings.db , enter systemex and search theme_no_online, change false for true
Now, you can download online themes
but are these themes in english or chinese?
There are in your system language

Enormous thanks for that, I'm downloading a few right now...
Do not text edit the .db file. It caused mine to boot loop.
Luckily deleting the file in recovery mode with adb worked.
Bootloops with non-removable battery is no fun

to do this does my phone need to be rooted or anything?
really not looking to cause problems with the phone. would rather keep one of the default themes than try to get a new one and f*ck up the phone. (i'm not all tech so would have no idea how to fix it)

No, root is not required to do this. Just connect the phone to USB using MTP and transfer the .hwt file to the folder HWThemes.

i downloaded the theme i wanted from that webiste and it was .hwt format
i connected my p6 using mtp opened the folder HWThemes then there are 2 folders .cache and Diytheme
i tried placing the .hwt file outside these 2 subfolders but within the main HWThemes folder
i tried placing it in the Diytheme folder
then there are 3 folders named "audio" "preview" and "wallpaper" in the .cache folder - i put the .hwt theme in the.cache folder but left it outside these subsubfolders. i also tried putting in in the preview folder
anyway the device didnt pick it up on ANY of the occasions (unless i have to reboot? for it to recognise)
(each time i deleted it from the previous folder before placing it in the new one so that the .hwt file was only present once)
also there are 2 files in the main HWThemes folder called "unzippedpackagelist.serv" and "installedwallpaperlist.serv" - idk what there purpose is.

Does this work for B125 international? I found it, but I don't want to risk bricking my phone. :/

yes it worked for me and im on b125... just remeber to let it use ur location ;p
Installing the international B125 seemed to give me access to the online section, too
There aren't a lot of themes there, though :/ (none that I like, anyway).
