Off screen - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was thinking about this the other day, is there a way to display the battery level while the phone is off? and not the led light to show a battery or a number with a %?

Nope. Lock screen percentage is as close as you can get.

[Q] When is the battery fully charged?

Hi all.
Right now i look into phone status to see the battery-percent if its 100% or not. But most time i'm charging the phone when its turned off. and then you really cant exactly tell when its charged. yes, you can see the battery-icon when you press the home button. but is it really fully charged when the animation is full?
somewhere i read that its charged when the led turns green. but its already green when the battery-icon is only 3quarters full.
I miss some kind of notification that tells me when the battery is fully charged.

It's 'fully' charged when the status (Settings -> About Phone -> Status) says 100%, the status bar image shows a full battery for less then 100% (between 100 and 80? I think)
There's an article here on the subject: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/blog/2011/nov/16/android-battery-icon-information
You can install themes that will display the number in the battery image or you can get 1% incremental battery themes, which will be more accurate
ok but this is just for turned on.
but what about when its turned off? because as i said thats the way i mostly charge it.
Dont think you can do anything when the phone is off think your just gona have to charge it when its on... You can see a percentage on the lockscreen while charging the phone when is on

How to NOT dim screen when battery < 5%?

The screen automatically dims when battery is 5%, even though I don't have AUTO BRIGHTNESS set.
How do I disable it? I don't want it to be dimmed.
Thank you.
My Note 2 is rooted.

[Q] Screen brightness modes difference

Hi, lately I was wondering if there is any difference in battery drain using normal or energy saving mode in brightness settings?
From the beginning I set screen energy saving on and slide the slider to line between 2nd and 3rd switch in pull down status bar. For some reason I need more brightness from time to time and I just turn off power saving so my screen gets extra ilumination which is perfect for me, but will this drain battery the same way as when I left power saving on and slide brightness slider to the right to make screen brighter?

Not much in everyday use.
It only works well in poorly lit environments and driving at night. I just set my brightness to 40% and leave it. I is bright enough for home/office and 100% for day driving.

Nx5 charging indicator

Hello.
Is there supposed to be a light for when the device is charged?
Mine shows no notification of either plugged in and charging, or when at 100%?
Cheers
you should see a lightning bold in the battery icon when charging
Yeah, cheers.
I was meaning with the screen off. All my other Android phones had a notification light when charging (ie red, then turned green once fully charged).

use this app

I had assumed there would at least be a sound considering the 3rd setting in my screen shot, but there's not.
As for light flow, I used it a lot on my N5, but I tried it on my 5X and there were some issues.
First, there's the persistent notification... It's the way LF uses to keep the app running in the foreground, but there's a LF notification always in the pull down AND that screws with ambient display. If you turn that setting off in LF, the app stops working within 20 minutes of the screen being off, defeating the purpose of having a light blinking to let you know it's charging.
Second, not so much LF's issue, but you can't make the LED light up certain colors like orange. Regardless of shade, it all comes out yellow.
I'm really surprised that Google didn't add something for a charging indication using the LED...
Yeah, cheers for that.
At least I know its not just my device.

LED notification

Is there any way to turn the LED off for low battery? It comes on at 15% there is still a lot of battery time left even at 15% for this phone so I want to turn the LED off.

Hey, you can do that via third-party app, like LIGHT FLOW.
