How to NOT dim screen when battery < 5%? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

The screen automatically dims when battery is 5%, even though I don't have AUTO BRIGHTNESS set.
How do I disable it? I don't want it to be dimmed.
Thank you.
My Note 2 is rooted.

[Q] Auto brightness error... Auto brightness NOT on

I've had a problem with the t989D since I got it. Here's what I want:
**Auto brightness turned OFF and the brightness remain at minimum setting.**
However, with all the roms I've tried (Stock, Juggernaut 4.1- 5.0, Tuesday) I always have the auto brightness OFF and the screen always brightens up to about 75% whenever I turn the screen back on.
Note: the settings still show as if the brightness is set to 0%, but the actual brightness coming from the screen is the same as if I turn the bar up to 75%. When I start to move the adjustment bar a slight amount for the brightness, the actual screen light drops right away. It only stays on 0% as long as I'm using it, but then is really bright again when I lock, then unlock the screen.
Is anyone else noticing this? Beyond that, is it possible to prevent the screen from adjusting it's brightness while the auto brightness nis off?
Thanks for any assistance!!

turn off auto dim screen

I'm using auto brightness (with jotha's APM autobrightness mod, but behaviour same on stock) and have enabled the keep screen awake when plugged in option.
It works as in it remains awake, but after a short interval the screen will dim substantially until you tap it again.
Is there any way of turning off the auto dim?

Auto Brightness is Retarded

Why in the pitch black doesn't auto brightness dim the screen to the minimum?
Also, why cant we use the phone in the "dimmest" state which is what it lowers to before it enters sleep. This is even dimmer than the lowest manual setting.
You just made me laugh my ass off...............
That's why I don't use auto, just place the widgets close.

I find even on the dimmest setting the HOX is very view-able even on sunny days. So I leave it on that, battery is pretty good...
Havent even thought of using auto adjust.
I have a custom ROM, so it might not work on stock, but its worth a try.
While the display is on "Auto Brightness" & just before the display goes off, it will dim to the minimum, at this point & before the display turns off, if you use the display, the brightness will remain dimmed (without turning off the diplay) until you actualy turn off the display (manualy of just leave timeout). Then, when you turn display back on, Auto Brightness is back to normal.
I use Widgetsoid to make a switch to change between 20% and auto brightness. You can customise the levels as you like. Works like a charm!

[Q] Battery life w/ Auto Brightness On vs. Off

I have Ambient Mode set to off which has been stated to save battery life. I was also wondering if anyone has noticed a difference in battery life while having auto brightness turned on vs off?

I am going with both ambient screen on and ambient mode on today. Yesterday I had both off and had ~6.3% per hour decrease using it. Today with both on, 10hrs into my day it's ~7.2% per hour discharge. I got about as much calls and texts and emails and disconnects when I walk up front or other side of the building in my office.
So far ~.9% difference with both ambient screen and ambient mode on. I'll test with ambient screen on and ambient mode on the watch to level 1 to see if there's any difference tomorrow.

What's the difference between ambient mode and auto brightness mode? Ambient mode just keeps the display on most of the time?

Ambient mode is what I refer to is the setting on the watch for auto brightness. When the watch is awake, the watch determines on how bright the display should be according to the light sensor on the watch. I normally turn my brightness to level one on my g watch and I lasted 14 hrs easy.

Are you aware there's an Auto Brightness setting as well? Trying to determine what the difference is between the two.

The term "ambient setting" on the phone? That's pretty much the same as the "screen on" setting when I had the g watch. Actually it was actually the same setting on the Moto prior to updating to 4.4w.1.
The "auto brightness" is the where the light sensor on the watch is used. The difference is that the autobrightness will use the sensor where if you choose one of the other levels, from my understanding, will then not use the light sensor and the "Ambient" setting is just another fancy way of saying dimmed rather than off.

dim screen on wake up

most of the time when the phone wakes up and the screen stays dim and grey, as if there is a semitransparent picture in front of the screen. I can see the clock and I can unlock it, but everything is dimmed.
If I turn of the screen one or two times, it usually wakes op again without this grey dim sheet and I can use the phone in full brightness.
I turned off auto brightness, but this did not solve the problem. The brightness slider also turns upp the brightness, but it is still about half as dim as it should be.
can anyone help me in finding out why this is happening?
