[Q] Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Page Plus - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi:
I bought a pre-owned Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone.
The phone came with Android ICS, I did an upgrade to Android JB using "Nexus Root Tool Kit". I installed BAMF Paradigm ROM in the phone.
Now I'm trying to get phone service from Page Plus. What else do I need to do to make this phone work with Page Plus 3G service?.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

then you cant move a verizon phone to page plus without being able to follow this.

Sprint Nexus l700 changes MIN to MDN
I'm having the hardest time changing my MIN and MDN in my Nexus L700 to pageplus. I finally got the RIGHT drivers...and finally connected the phone to ETS...and finally learned the basics of flashing with it...LOL. (I think it'll gets easier) Anyway. I see in the automated scripts " Overwrite MDN with IMSI_S=0". That looks to me like the phones original programming has that bit set to "1". Everytime I change either the MDN or the MIN...the end up the same. I think this is the final step...(I hope) to switching this Sprint Galaxy Nexus L700 over to verizon.
Also...the script "Verizon to Pageplus doesn't work with my Sprint to Pageplus phone..

[Q] Questions about Sprint Epic 4G Touch

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before but as usual, Sprint isn't providing me with answers.
First, will the new phone run NetFlix? I've tried some hacked versions on my Android tablet with some success so I'm hopefull on this isuee.
Second, does it support Wi-Fi Direct? I've seen conflicting information and the yahoos at Sprint don't even know what this means.
Ok, one more for good measure, why no NFC? I thought this would be cool to have even if it has limited use in the US.
On the Netflix issue, I can't see why it would not work. I had an Evo 4G and an Evo 3D (which I returned) and both ran Netflix just fine. It'd be REALLY stupid if it didn't.

I believe the reason he posted it here is because this is the Sprint version of the galaxy s2. The dumb-asses at Sprint decided to give it a near identical name to the Epic 4G by calling it the Epic 4g Touch.

That is a dumb ass thing to do! Thanks for the clarifcation.
I can see its going to get pretty confusing round here soon
Yep - thank's Sprint. I came here because this is where all the cool people are. Anyway, I guess I'll wait and see what happens when the phone shows up. Can't wait to get the thing rooted...
Do the current S2's that people are using support Wi-Fi Direct? I can't imagine Samsung would add that just to the US versions if nobody else has it already.

Confusing is right. I'm kinda hoping that a separate thread is started. OR, even better--that the rooting/flashing processes described for the existing sg2's work on the US variants!
Wonder why there isn't an Xda Epic 4G touch forum thread up yet.

Yes, yes, and probably hardware limitations.
I have been reading up on the international version of the SGS2 and it has a FM Radio that you can use to listen to your local stations. Now does the Sprint version works with this or has Sprint disabled it again like they did with the TP2.

Galaxy Nexus Popularity

Just curious why a lot of people seem to prefer these devices over devices like Motorola Razr, etc? Is because these devices are updated more frequently than most? I've read that somewhere, but don't remember where. Thanks.

Nexus devices are bloat free (no motoblur, touchwiz, sense skins on top - just pure Android)
They (like you said) are the first to get updates to new Android releases
They are much simpler to unlock/root/theme/modify etc than others
The development of roms, kernels mods etc is the largest of any other Android phone probably and is always evolving
Pretty much why I chose a Nexus - I knew I would be able to get pretty comprehensive help with any aspect of it on these and other forums

Thanks for your response; it's much appreciated. Since I've only ever used Moto Android devices, I'm not very familiar with the offerings by Nexus. Does Samsung actually make the Nexus, but Google owns Nexus?
Thanks again.

Google owns the Nexus brand and uses it to showcase their latest software offerings as well as to set a general trend of direction it envisions for Android as a whole - It contracts out the actual hardware manufacture to it's partners like HTC (Nexus One), Samsung (Nexus S & GNex) and ASUS (Nexus 7 tablet) etc.
Seeing as this particular forum is for the Galaxy Nexus specifically, you can find some more info here http://pocketnow.com/2012/07/20/whats-next-for-googles-nexus-brand-of-devices/ and ofcourse even more by using Google's no.1 product - Google Search
Carrier freedom.
Dev support.
Peer support.
Price.
Hardware good enough.
Pure android.
Serious geek toy.
(The gnex is Google brand, but manufactured by Samsung.)
Okay thanks, guys. It's all more clear to me now. So basically any Nexus device will be updated before any other device, correct? Say even before the Samsung Galaxy S111?
Thanks again.

No not any Nexus device. The GSM Nexus that you can buy from Google directly gets updates before any other device. The carrier locked (CDMA) Verizon and Sprint Nexi got the latest updates 2-3 months after the GSM model did, still they are ahead of most phones for updates.

Updated frequently, for longer, with great stock software.
If you're into rooting, its trivially easy.
If you're into ROMs, it'll be one of (if not the) best supported device for a long time to come.
Unlocked straight from Google.
Pentaband.
Honestly, I was a huge HTC fanatic up until I first played with the Gnex. After an hour of playing with my new Gnex I was hooked, after a week of tweaking it I decided I will not own any other device but a Nexus branded one from this point on. I hated samsung because of how plastic and toylike their phones seemed to be but after owning my Gnex I changed my mind. My last phone (Inc2) had scratches on the screen within a week and dust under the screen within a month. I'm going on 3 months with my Gnex and keep it naked in the same pocked as my car keys sometimes with not a single tiny cosmetic ding.
Anyway, got a little off the subject, honestly the only way I will ever hesitate in the future from buying a nexus device is if crappy motorola is making it. I still love HTC and I definitely have a newfound love for Samsung after owning my Gnex and playing with the Note 2 and the GS3.
Bottomline, once you own a google flagship phone nothing else really compares.

If you think you have to root a Nexus device you DO NOT have enough knowledge on technology to own a Nexus device. The bootloader is unlockable, there is never a need to root a Google Flagship Development Phone.

This response proves my point, you do not know enough about development to own a flagship Google device. It has nothing to do with the gnex's "superiority". Google flagship devices have the open option to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery. Root is never necessary on a nexus branded device and if you have to ask how to root a phone that doesn't require rooting you probably shouldn't be unlocking it in the first place. I'm was not being rude in my last post and nothing I said had any relevance to your mindless banter about slow performance and unresponsiveness. Please just return your gnex and get a Motorola RAZR flip phone, that is more in the area of computer tech knowledge you belong in. Don't bother responding, your last response killed enough of everyone's brain cells.

as good of a rom as CM is you may want to look at some others too because there is a thread in Sprint GNex forum about fixing lag on CM/cm based roms. check out blackbean, sourcery, and i think purity is in the pipeline for sprint gnex.

Define "easy".
It all depends on the ROM and your background knowledge with ROMs. Some ROMs I find easy to port while others keep me scratching my head for days. All depends.

You can just download the sprint version over in SPRINT GALAXY S3 ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT. sorry for caps, only doing it to make it clear so no one bricks theirs. Wait till he has a booting one though.
Porting from US S3's are a lot easier than from international version.

The correct answer is NO you may not use the Supernexus Rom made for the I9300. Unless you want to throw that phone right in the garbage.
Now you can use the Supernexus Rom made for the (d2spr) SPH-L710 which is the Sprint version. Found in the Sprint Galaxy S3 Development section here on XDA.
There is no reason you should even be looking in other phone forums other than the one specific to your device.
Have a great day!
