Does anyone else have backlight bleeding issues at the bottom of the phone where the buttons are? On the side of my screen, in the dark, you can clearly see light leaking out the sides.
I was wondering if this is normal with all HTC One Vs.
yeah i have my lights 'bleeding'' they're injured uk.. :banghead:

This was a big issue when HTC One V was first released, you might have gotten one of the early manufactured phones.
Haven't noticed that yet.

I'm afraid the problem is more broad than that. My HTC Glacier (T-Mobile myTouch 4G) has the exact same backlight bleeding issue. It's a common issue on my device and has been there since new.
Yeah its so annoying and noticeable and now I'm getting a small orange spot on my screen top left

Does that mean your phone doesn't have any? If you turn the lights off, and watch a video, you can't see a little light leaking out of the side of the glass?
I have the CDMA version with Virgin Mobile and have had it for about 3 months. I watch movies on it all the time and not noticed any light leakage at all.

Just saw some photo taken in HTC shop of demo phone that indicate One X has some yellow spot (tint) display issue.
I would like those who have gotten the phone already to have a check and give us input does it happen to you or not.
The recent yellow spot issue is serious problem for latest Sony Xperia S phone.
Hope it can help to understand is it common or just rare.
Thanks!

Yes, some people give up Sony Xperia S(LT26i)because of the yellow spot issue. I really do not want it happen to One X. The issue for Sony is detected by user after 1 or 2 weeks usage, in some case is when phone get warm(like charging) or play heavy game after a while.
So if One X user can test it under charging status with full white screen may can more effective to confirm.
Rumors said One X screen provider is Sony. If it is true even the technique of it is different than LT26i screen but still may have some common issue behind.

Not a screenshot dummy.
It's the SLCD2 Panel itself...
So take a pic of the actual phone and white background.

The screenshot just shows what you are supposed to see.
The problem is in what you actually see on the screen itself.
To avoid any confusion, please take a physical photo of the screen in a dim room, not a screen shot.
There. Solved. Please do not fight.
I don't have any of these spots. The screen is just absolutely amazing!
The yellow tints are caused by the LCD screen foil. If you drop the phone, you will get yellow spots!

That explains, and maybe it can even be caused by pressing too hard on the screen maybe ?
Darn... Just got the One X from digitec (Switzerland) and it clearly shows two yellowish spots in the two bottom corners of the display. It's very visible and distracting on white background, not so much on dark background.
Isnt this the glue that holds the laminated screen onto the glass? I used to have this on my iphone4s ips display and the apple dude that served me said it would go off after using it for a slightly longer period of time and after a week or so the tint disappeared

Now that you mentioned it, i do believe this is the cause indeed.. i almost forgot about the iphone4s screen issues haha till you mentioned it , but that could be because i don't read much about Apple/iphones etc. and i don't have any affinity to Apple and it's products. [off-topic] To be honest i really hate Apple's mentality / their way of business
When the yellow spots are on the side, it's most of the time glue.
But if it's in the middle of the screen, most of the times it's the foil.
I would get a replacer if i were you!

Is it looks better now for yellow spot? Maybe can ignore if not look after it hardly?

It kind of looks as if they got weaker over the last two days of usage. Could be my wishful thinking, though. With white background, the spots (still) are noticeable and distracting. It's like with dead pixels: once you've discovered them, you can't ignore them anymore...
The screen flickering is persistent now, and the top half of the screen is darker than the lower half. So, it's going back.
Replacement swap on Tuesday.
I had a thought today about why the screen may have darkened. I'd read about heat being an issue with yellowing the display, and wondered if the GPU had caused it to go darker?
One of the first things I did after the first charge was play Reckless Racing 2 for a while - and it got quite hot by the camera and on the screen itself. Could the heat from the Tegra have discoloured the screen glue at the top end of the screen?
This was while I still had the yellow spots - which disappeared after a few hours of screen-on time.
I think I'll "burn-in" the screen using Display Tester on my next one before doing anything that gets the CPU hot.
What do you think? Uneven heat on the display causing it to discolour on the top half? Anyone else had this? You can notice it on the Google homepage or any white screen (like on Display Tester).
can you take a photo of it? the so called uneven?..

i had this on my One X, uneven green in white and tint all gone after a week of use, the screen is perfect white now
So you're saying it sorted itself out after a while?

out of box it was yellowish yes and and whiter at the bottom, now its perfect, its known thing since the iPhone4 launch, screen lamination glue needs time to settle
Hi everyone, had my one X for a week now and while I love it, I have just noticed I've got a yellow dot on the lower left corner of the screen. Anyone else had issues like this, thinking of taking it back. Shame coz its an awesome phone. What's this screen test app everyone's talking about? Thanks
Do we know what the cause is yet? I only have one (top left corner) but now its there I can't take my eyes off it. Do we think its a glue issue as seen in the iPhone and will it disappear after time? Or is it something more sinister like too much pressure on the screen in that area.

I had one in the top-left corner as well. It hadn't disappeared after two weeks, so I returned it... Unfortunately, my DOA-period was already over, so I'm still waiting for a new one
If I were you, I'd exchange it while you've still got DOA-days left!
Im starting to think its too much pressure on the screen at that place. Because if i push on the screen near the yellow spot its getting bigger and more noticeable. So I dont think its glue in most cases.
After almost 2 weeks they havent disappeared or became less noticeable

The yellow spots on my One X were on the bottom right, bottom left and a few more along the left hand side. I'd say it was glue as all of the spots were entirely yellow ie; no normal part in the middle of the spot. After twelve days they hadn't lessened by any amount so the phone had to go back which is a bloody shame as I loved it apart from that one bloody issue. I'm just amazed that nobody spotted these spots during quality control.
Why so many threads about the same thing..
"Of death" implies the display killed your phone. You have a "yellow dot of annoyance."

I have just noticed that I can see definate stagelight-like light leak from the bottom of my screen. Anyone else also notice that?

I can confirm the same, however it doesn't bother me, also in the dark you can see the light through the polycarbonate body

I noticed I had the same problem when using the One X at night. It's pretty annoying but at least it's not yellow spots...
I notice this too, but only when I tilt my phone towards the ground. It's a little more noticeable on the bottom right of the screen when I tilt it, but not by much. I think it's sort of normal, because the One X uses a backlit display, and from what I gather, most backlit displays have this effect. I could be wrong though.
Hi all,
Recently i have discovered a small gap on my HTC One X on the bottom right part between the screen and its body where a light passes through. It can only be noticed on a dark room. Any thoughts about it? Thanks!

From what I have seen it happens on quite a lot of the devices. I even have it on mine. As you said though it can only be noticed in the dark. Not sure if it is actually happening on everyone's device?

I would say gaps to a certain degree are on all devices. I seen only 5 or so different one x , different series 23_26 etc. Read about more . But all had some gap.
There are people claiming about no gap. Would have to see it to believe it.
Only thing is if it's too big, dusts get under screen, try to get a better one. Also test for screen ripple. Too much exchange it.
