Hi,
I have stock rom in my HTC Sensation XE (running android 4). Only custom mod there is Clockword mod (Im running Avast security with Anti Theft feature, which needs custom, unlocked bootloader to be a real protection).
Here is my problem: I've got notification about system upgrade: 3.33.401.153 (size: 6.18 MB), downloaded it and installed. After the system reboots It cant go further (i see triangle with exclamation mark). It loads normally when I remove battery, but then the notification appears again (so in fact nothing is installed).
My battery is full, lot of memory free. I also tried to install update with anti theft switched off, but nothing helps..
What to do? PLZ HELP..
Hey
nobody can help? ;(
Did you fix this problem yet?
A friend has the same problem!
No i havent i just ignore this update.. Can somebody help us? Its really getting me pissed off, beacuse the notification appears nearly every time i turn on WiFi or other internet connection.. If somehow You will resolve problem plz post your solution here.
To get rid of the update notification just deactivate the update checking! This is located inside the settings menu under phone informations (don't know where it's exactly i don't have the phone next to me right now, sorry!).
That's all i found out right now..

I know thats the easiest solution.. But then I wont be able to update OS in my sensation..

Since today the Defy of my Girlfriend finds the OTA Update 2.51.1.en.DE but it wont install.
After pressing Install the Device reboots and the status bar is showing for 2 seconds. Then the Installation hangs up and switches to the warning triangle.
After moving the Battery out and in it reboots normal without the Update.
The Device is rooted and has Recovery installed.
Any Ideas?
maybe you should just manually flash the en.GB Version, works well, all in german too. :=) (have it installed on my phone)
so there's no difference between using the OTA update or this version.
maybe there're some doublechecks with root and the custom recovery which makes it impossible.
why did u install root and recovery to your girlfriends phone? man - that's just bringing work ;=P

Ps.: just use RSDLite, works like a charm, if u really want to
Anyone can post how i can unroot my phone again? I dont want to install any other then the official ROM for EU/Germany.
can the Rom fix the flashlight problem? I have undated the flashlight fix and now my flashlight is not working properly. There is dark green light when it flashes.
sorry for my poor English..
Hey guys,
the strangest thing since i'm using android happened to me right now.
I realized that my DHD starts to lag after 2-3 days, a reboot fixes it, (USB debugging always enabled) but that's not the problem :=)
so i wanted to restart!
all apps stopped working unexpectedly....
really everything, launcher, there are masses of popups coming up, no idea what really happened.
the only thing i know, htc sense seemed to work (i was so intelligent to try to start launcherpro, which created a default shortcut, so then everything including launcher pro stopped working, no chance to to anything (usb connection not detected... nothing)
popups just reoccur directly after clicking them away. no idea at all.
i found this:same problem on another phone @xda
but there hasn't been a solution too.
so i just wanted to tell anyone out there experiencing the same with a dhd.
u're not alone.
i'm reflashing. (another rom, it was revolution hd 3, but i think its not rom related - but i have to mention, the stock rom - used for 2 months before- never had anything similar - rev. hd was just in use for a few weeks now (1 or 2).

update:
guys this really suckz, i dont know whats different with my DHD and the combination of revolution HD rom, but this is the second time this happened!
the first time, i realized (not as written above) i was using rev. HD 2.1
now it was on 3.0
i know, there's a 3.1 out there, but i really dont want to test it.. something's really strange here? (same error happened another time :===/)
I suggest you to reset your Desire HD
thanks,

Problem solved on my HTC HD2
Just solve the problem on my HTC HD2 applications force to stop error, no need to soft of hard reset required no need to update or re-install ROM, Go to Manu >Rome Manager ( My version is v4.8.1.3 > Utilities > TAP ON Fix permissions ( Fix file system permissions, this often fixes force close problems) after waiting few minutes reboot and enjoy ...............
Hi guys,
I'm an ITALIAN guy and this summer i bought an htc wildfire s in POLAND. I had no problem with this device (very very good smartphone). Today, a messagge appeard on the display. It was an upgrade alert... I accepted that upgrade (from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5), cleaned up my internal phone memory and i done that upgrade. After the loading process the upgrade rebooted my phone and puff... I don't know what happened. Now i have graphic bugs, the phone is VEEEEEEERY LAGGY. The upgrade stopped at 70% and now i can't finish the upgrade, i can't use wifi because there is a error message (wifi: error) and i can't do nothing else. (phone is very laggy and it's full of lcd pulsations/texture problems). I tried to reset my device using the internal function and i also tried to reset all using the startup function (switch on + volume down). I cleaned cache etc etc but same ****. Can someone help me? How i can restore original data? How i can make this update working?
Thanks guys!
You are not alone - bro , many phones is already hit by this upgrade - for now you only can register problem at HTC support line and wait ... btw. I'm from Poland .
So we can only wait... Pff, now i'm calm
My girlfriend has the same problem although the upgrade was perfect the phone works bad. Is there no way to downgrade?
Hello dear WFS users,
I'm facing a very annoying and unpleasant problem on my Wildfire S sinse I have unlocked the Bootloader via HTC Dev.
The WiFi antenna sucks the life out of my Marvel's battery (I'm pretty sure this is the reason for the battery drain). I have made numerous factory resets, but non of my attempts to fix this actually work. For now I keep my device in a very "factory" state, without any 3rd party apps installed, without root and without a custom recovery. Yet, my battery can hold on for up to 10 hours of NO custom usage when WiFi is on. When Wifi is off, everything is ok. I check the battery stats in Settings -> About phone on a regular basis and every time they show one and the same thing: the phone just won't go in sleep mode while WiFi is on. Now, I have read about such problems with some extra apps, but all I have installed on the phone are the latest versions of the default apps (Gmail, Facebook, Maps, new Google Search, Market, Youtube). I use no widgets, except for the HTC Clock+Weather; I have deleted all Sync accounts, except Gmail. They have never created any problems, anyway. Just for reference, I haven't messed with my WiFi router/connection.
So please help me, what could be the issue here? What is keeping the WiFi on to drain the battery even when the phone should sleep? And how to fix this? I have Europe Marvel (RUU 2.13.401.2) with unlocked bootloader (1.08.0099) - it says "unlocked" on the top and all... Should I maybe reinstall the 2.3.5 RUU, or the bootloader unlocking .exe? Please, it's very urgent! Thanks in advance!

What radio version?
You mean the baseband, right? It's 47.23a.35.3035H_7.53.39.03M, the default one which came with Android 2.3.5, I believe. You'd need S-Off to change radio, right? Anyway, I'm S-On with unlocked bootloader. Just before unlocking the da*n thing I had no problems whatsoever.
Edit: I run the stock ROM and Kernel, too. Very peculiar issue...

Why dony you try some app like juice defender and set it to turn off wifi when you want... But thats not a solution... Maybe before flashing anything, contact htcdev.. In last case you should flash some sense rom, since i see you want all stock..

Thanks for your suggestions, b02. Although I like Sense I'm not a Sense-freak and I'm willing to try various ROMs. But at this point I don't want to flash anything new because I have to find out the real reason standing behind this WiFi issue. I have to be sure there is no hardware problem (fingers crossed). Juice Defender would be just a workaround and not a resolution of the problem, too.
So, I have dug extensively in the Settings menu and I found something I didn't even know it was there before.
In Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings I press the Menu button and two further options appear in the bottom of the screen: Scan and Advanced. Next, I press Advanced and the first option to be seen here is Wi-Fi sleep policy. It gives me 3 further options: After 15 minutes, Never when plugged in, Never, which obviously determine if/when the WiFi should go to sleep. By default (after numerous Factory resets and after I discovered this thing ) the selected option was Never, so I changed it to After 15 minutes.
Now, this change has worked for me, at least partially. The huge battery drain on standby has stopped for now. Yet, I'm not sure this has been the originally selected option before I encountered this issue. Could someone please check this for me? What is the selected option by default for him/her in this menu?
Only in this way I could be entirely sure whether I have found the solution or just a workaround. For now, WiFi needs 1-2 seconds to turn on when I bring the device out of Sleep mode. I have to say I don't remember such a behaviour before so I'm not sure what I have actually accomplished. Furthermore, I think the battery drain is still too big when I just browse the menu and the settings (with WiFi on). Something seems to operate in the shadows or whatever else...
Please help! Thanks a million!
So it turns out there was some error, which occured when I unlocked the bootloader of the phone. It was preventing WiFi from sleep and therefore draining the battery. I went to a friend to perform S-Off for me. Then he installed the Stock 2.3.3 ROM + Hboot 0.90.0000 + the respective radio (7.46.something) on the top (he had this ROM version in his computer). So now my phone is OK. The bootloader info states the phone is S-Off; the "***Unlocked***" signature is gone.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Is it safe to perform an OTA Update to 2.3.5 when S-Off? An update invitation has already appeared in the notification bar.
2. I intend to try m1ndh4x8r's ROM out. Do I need to flash the 2.3.5 official ROM before that at all?

GREAT. I was looking forward to root my One V this Saturday night 'cause I had holiday from college and classes on Sunday..:cyclops:
And WoW! My Bluetooth is Stuck badly!:crying::crying: Yesterday, I turned it ON to send some files to my Xperia Mini and it said Bluetooth is Turning ON... After 5-6 seconds, the phone automatically Switched OFF. There were no issues like low RAM or anything which slowed it down to such an extent that it should power it OFF automatically. After restarting, the phone still said 'Bluetooth is turning ON...' in Settings. But it never turned on. Today morning it was still stuck at 'Turning ON'... I tried to restart the phone then. Now this is what happens : It restarts normally and it shows the Bluetooth symbol in the Status Bar indicating Bluetooth is turned ON. Again, it automatically restarts in 7-8 seconds and then it shows 'Bluetooth is Turning ON...' !! I'm fed up! Tried restarting it a couple of times but this doesn't solve the problem. :crying:
The last time I restarted it, I quickly entered Settings and when it was showing 'Bluetooth Turned ON', I quickly tapped on it and switched it OFF. As usual, the phone again restarted and Bluetooth was Turned OFF.
I thought that the problem was solved, but again, after sometime, I turned it on and again it's stuck on 'Turning ON'. Again, the whole process - Restarts, shows Turning ON, then I restart manually, shows it's Turned ON, reboots again in 7-8 seconds, shows it's still Turning ON.. :crying:
Any way to resolve this problem except Factory Data Reset?

Piggybacking on this open Bluetooth thread. Similar issue with failure to turn on BT.
Rooted HTC One V - CDMA
Running CM10 rom (20121028 Primoc)
Flashed the kernal within the Zip
Saw the instruction above to wipe cache and dalvik cache.
Completed both wipes using CWM recovery and then flashed the same kernel, but still no luck with BT.
Anything I've missed or additional tips?

'Cause it was really irritating before it got an update...
Never posted a single comment on it after the system update.. its smooth and sleek now..
no probs. You'all don't need to put light on the past..
Had I not liked my phone even today, I'd never create this thread! I'd look for some other phone..

Finally, fixed it. Factory Reset.
Did a Factory Reset and finally fixed it! Surprisingly, it has become smooth and fast! With the same installed apps, 200MB RAM is always free. NFS is running without lags!

Completed the suggested steps above, but still no luck.
Alternatively, installed the latest CM10 nightly rom via Zip on SD card.
Flashed the kernel in the Zip.
Had BT working but then not WiFi.
Installed PacMan 15.3 via Zip on SD card
Flashed the kernel in the Zip.
Now back to WiFi but no BT.
Is there something I'm not doing correctly in the wiping process?

No need to reply. I was able to get it working.
Yesterday I unlocked my bootloader, rooted my device, and then installed CM9
Now when I try to turn on BT it just says :Turning Bluetooth On..." and never does anything.
Also my GPS doesn't work. No matter how long I wait it never gets a fix, just the giant circle covering 1 square KM.
Both were working previously so it is obviously something I did (or didn't do)
From my GSM One V:
Baseband version
20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.120
Kernel version
3.0.16-g133e482

Mon Aug 13 19:30:34 CST 2012
CyanogenMod version
9-20121016-UNOFFICIAL-primou
...I'm a bit of a n00b at this so speak slowly
EDIT: So I updated my kernel and GPS is now working, but no change on BT, still won't turn on.
Kernel is now:
3.0.16-HELLBOY
[email protected] #201210251300
Thu Oct 25 13:00:26 CEST 2012
EDIT #2:
I updated my kernel again and now Everything Works. Fully Resolved. Looks like I just had the wrong kernel.
In case anyone cares I am now using:
3.0.16-HELLBOY

i think its an update problem because nowadays many users have same problem, you can do factory reset till HTC release new update or else rooting is a good option
