Often Google Play will report that certain apps on Play are not compatible with HTC Wildfire S.
Basically this is because the Wildfire S stock RAM size is small and Google Play compares the app size with their Compatable phones list to see if it will fit.
I have read through a few XDA posts and it appears that if the Model and Manufacturer data is changed in the build.prop file then Play will see the phone as one which is compatable. i.e. Samsung Galaxy Sll.
Does anyone know of a app that will do this? or any developers out there that can do this or a script to do it for rooted phones with sd-card system programs like data2sd ect?
Maybe it would be possible to fool the system for a while just so you can install 'imcompatible' apps from Play.
It's easier to just download the .apk from somewhere.
If you are using sense and you edit some build.props entry maybe like this one. Sense framework may go weird.

I'm a noob so don't go hard on me please.
I just wanted to know if there's a way to get all the Android market apps to show on my phone. For the wildfire s, if I type "frontline commando" , it won't show it but when I tried it on my galaxy s, it showed so I was guessing that Android market checks your hardware before presenting the apps.
I just want to know if someone can help me try to get it to show all the apps. Thank you

Looks like you can't. If you go to the Market on a PC Frontline Commando comes up in the search but it on't let you install on a WFS. I guess on the phone it checks first.
Android market will only give you a list of apps that are compatible with your phone.
Although the Market only shows you the apps compatible with your phone, in theory it must be possible to fool Market as to your phone's hardware, surely ?
Whether this will do any good is another matter though, e.g. downloading apps that are supposedly incompatible ?

Just wanted to ask, if there´s a possibility to delete old apps that are still shown in the playstore. want a better overview over my apps. there are still apps listed from older devices. want to clean up a bit, after a fullwipe i even would have got a better overview which apps to install.

They should at least give us a way to change how the list is organized.
I can't even see all of the apps I've ever installed online. The list stops at F.

Because there's so many, mine stops at M. If you go to Order History (or something similar), you'll see every app you've downloaded in chronological order.

Known issue for Android app

OK, so first things first. I am rooted and have attempted repeatedly to remove the Google Play Services apk with no luck. I have used TB to uninstall. freeze, delete. It will delete the file and or remove it but when I reboot its back and it wont go away. I have looked into the my
/data/app
folder and deleted the file from there and then removing it with TB, still whether I reboot or I wait anywhere from minutes to a coupel hours its back and as it doesnt show up under the PLAY store I cant think of any other way to remove the dang thing and its eating about 40mb of internal storage. I move it to SD and it will work for a bit, but then its back to internal storage..... I dont even use Google+ that much on my phone. I use it on my PC.
Any ideas/suggestions?

It takes only 7.92MB of internal storage for me.
You need to remove the GPlay store to remove it permanently.
Maybe if I rename the play store apk and add a .bak then reboot then remove the dang thing entirely it will be gone.
I looked and I dont know whats different with mine but its eating around 39mb on my phone.
Why would you want to remove it? This app, as far as I can remember I read, gives us "Smart Update" which lets you install and update only the updated portions of apps instead of redownloading the entire app. So... I just moved the app to my system partition using TB, then Integrate it with the ROM everytime it gets updated. Internal memory problem solved.
According to Google Play reviews, you need it for YouTube and possibly other Google services.

Sorry, but this is wrong. Smart Update is a Google Play Store feature and has nothing to do with Google Play Services.

Yeah true, since newest version.
Google Play Services is something like a replacement for older Google APIs on Android. It allows developers to use a newer version of those APIs (this "newer" version is not better in any way, but new ). Google's idea is to get more independant from hardware manufacturers and their updates. They want this APIs to be no longer part of the system to update them on their own. They started porting their Apps to the new APIs, YouTube is one of the affected apps (what means they did not add any feature but let the app work only on Android systems with Play Services installed).

Up until today I was quite happy with my ZTE T60. Then suddenly upon waking up this morning it was sluggish, the Internet was unresponsive and became a great disappointment. Then the low memory warnings started, my "market" Icon was switched to "Play Store". So into settings and application management I go. Now I notice two new applications I did not install or was I asked for permissions. One being the play store which is only a MB or so bigger than the old "market" app but now I also have this "Google play services" thats 19MB! My device only has 128M ROM. I don't have room for it and I cant get rid of it. Being that Google took over my device I have decided to boycott all Android devices. I would also like to note the same exact thing was done by Google with my Samsung GT-S5570 Galaxy mini. Whats the point of pushing store software onto devices like this that takes up all of the Rom so one couldn't download anything from the store if they wanted to? Doesn't Google realize this enormous update is not suitable for every android device on-line and why have they mandated it? Sorry Google, I used to love ya but this is the big goodbye.
I am not sure about windows phone OS but I can agree with you. Now Apple and Android are doing the same bad things than Windows for desktop did in the past.
Unfortunately on mobilephones its is even worse because by default you are not root/admintrator.

You need it for like all services by google. The google play store will just keep downloading it and putting it on your phone until the end of time. Youd probably have to re engineer the google play and other google apps to not download this app.

In my case, the Small Apps automatically appear on Play Store and it recommends me to install them, at least the official ones.
I don't know if there are some more, I'd like to know too
Just open the Small apps on your phone, scroll to the very right, touch the + button, then Play Store and there you go.
i like the factory Samsung roms after all the bloat has been removed.
but i like the aokp roms because i don't need the Google apps installed. (even more bloat IMHO)

Depends on the app. If you mean removing the entire framework i would not suggest it. But if you just mean google books and stuff like that then you can just freeze it with TiBU
I would like to remove as much as possible. Google play Google services Google sync Google maps Google everything etc.
If I could find a comprehensive list that explained what every Google app was in the rom I would start freezing things and see what happens. But with out that list I'll have force closes everywhere and I'll never be sure what may be causing it.

Look on the CM website and search for "barebones" lists of application removal..
Basically CM did the leg work for us in determining to what level a device can be stripped and still function...
A few years ago I was running CM builds on the Aria at just over 56 meg.. and they were fast...
I used winrar to drop out the APKs as the rom didn't need resigning after the removal...but with our current recoveries and the ability to ignore signature verification at the recovery level anyway...I'm sure several other methods will work...
I briefly browsed through the barebones lists before typing this...and noticed that several areas are under construction...but lists do exist to remove complete packages up to the 10.1 level...
Just keep a good nandroid backup handy...

thanks for the pointers , i found a few different list of things to remove, and ill use my sgs2 as a Guinea pig to start..
find a way to dump a list of system files then start freezing and removing them.
( i even found a s4 rom script that the guy removed 800+ MB of files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307355)
ill post what i find and maybe even release a rom..
unless something happens and i don't

And with so little on the device. ..it's likely you'll only have 1 application screen. ..
