Just wondering if anyone has installed any new boot animations through Rom Toolbox. I am running stock rooted with cwm recovery installed. I had an issue once on my atrix, so just curious if anyone else has tried it.
I've been using it for 2 weeks or so and have it loading random animations. Working like a charm.
Running latest aokp

I guess that is the only difference is I'm not running a custom Rom yet. I wouldn't think it would hurt it.

The rom shouldnt matter, the only thing that makes a difference on it working is the Kernel (for what I know) I have been using it for a little while on NexusMod and it works like a charm. I use it for fonts as well. Just make a backup and try. Thats what we all do O.O
My font. :•)

I was using boot animations for about a week or so from ROM Toolbox and I experienced no issues. Since then I've disabled boot animations all together for a faster boot

Do you mean the Boot animation? If so there are many good custom ones. Instructions can usually be found within those threads..

What ROM are you using? I have never seen a reboot or shut-down animation and have no idea why there would be one

I use that ROM and have the boot animation customized. Just look at the links DirkGently1 posted. Make sure though its compatible with Leedroids kernel. i flashed one the other day and ended up in a boot loop no matter what cache i cleaned after.
Hey guys I got a quick question about the new jugs v5. I'm using the stock version of the rom and I was wondering weather or not I could flash a boot animation on it

Depends on the kernel, I think it uses fauxes kernel so nah
M&S
If you flash darkside kernel over it you can

i hate the animation faux has, soo lame =/
it is alot better then the stock one that came with it. In questions and answers I was looking for a way to have the ICS boot animation for when a call comes in.
This is CM10 Alpha for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. There might be bugs.
The is a build of CM10 that I compiled and thought I would share. It has pulls from gerrit in it. This is kind of like a Nightly build but with more experimental stuff in it.
Pulls from gerrit and other modifications:
enable multi-user support
Secret Franco sauce
CallNotifier: Ring in PHONE_INCOMING_RING only if it has already rang once.
LockscreenShortcuts : Minor code cleanup
Implemented Linaro. Full -03 with some bionic patches. Everything should work.
Changes in the 10/3 build:
tuna: add cpu boost hint
Settings: Add setting in security for sms message rate alerts
GNexusParts improvements
Allow full themeing of mms via theme chooser
A few other minor things.

Haven't flashed this yet, but a friend is having a similar issue on his N7. He didn't wipe before flashing, but I did wipe and mine came up fine.
Again these are different devices so probably different issues, but did you not wipe before flashing?

Wooooo power bar in notification pull down. Thanks man.

Fwiw, I still had to flash this SU zip in order for it to stop asking certain apps for permission over and over again.

How's the home screen search widget on this? I installed a fresh CM10 alpha build last night and those listed GApps. My home screen widget when tapped no longer launched Google Now. It launched some odd search app that reminded me of Gingerbread search.

I am using version 5.8.0.2 and it is working fine on jb ROMs. 6.0.0.5 is screwing up on restores for many people!
What kind of battery life are you getting with this ROM.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Battery so far is good. Phone does go into deep sleep.
What is the boot animation on this like? Is it stock JB? That's the only thing I don't like about Jellybro.
CM9 boot animation.

Getting ready to make the jump. Does anyone know whether Bluetooth MAP support is in this as it was in CM9?
....
i found a bug you guys might want to be aware of... everytime i select reboot from the device menu i get stuck at the google unlocked logo boot image. a simple battery pull will get you to boot fine. Freaked me out when I first noticed it!
I'm running Jellybean and rooted, but I like the feel of TouchWiz well enough I haven't flashed any other roms (yet). The one thing that bugs me though is the TouchWiz lock screen--is there any way to just flash the AOSP Jellybean lock screen, or maybe the CM10 one?
Many roms include it

Check themes and apps. Morphology

Many roms do include it... Probably the easiest way is just to flash a stock rom with it.

I like the stock rom as well, I dont know if you can flash just the lockscreen, but if you go for the whole ROM package, I would recomend you the Sac23's Unofficial Synergy ROM port, it has working multi-window and the AOSP Lockscreen option, and it looks and feels pretty stock, im on the V2 right now, just small bugs, nothing mayor, I get 14 hours of battery and its pretty smooth.
You can give it a try, just flash the V2, not the V3

Rom All star v7 is
fantastic,awesome,perfect,amazing #1 for me...:thumbup::beer:
I'm using Official slim bean 3.1 with lightning zap kernel and I'm getting average 4 hours of screen time. My favorite rom so far!
CM10 Nightlies. I always get the most out of my battery out of it. Yet, the call quality on them kinda suck. People keep saying i'm breaking up while on a call.
Just to add I'm currently running slimstar and its pretty smooth on my end hasn't settled yet though
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Depends what you are asking for. If you want performance, usually CM10. If you want battery, I'd also say CM10. For massive amounts of preferences go with PACman ROM.
Has anyone tried both cory's mod and slimstar?

I am praying for MIUI Jellybean based ROM. For now, Cory's Awesome Mod; It's a WIP but as of now ... It's minimal and is a reliable DD for me.
I'm using Corys PAC rom love it best one I've tried so far

All Star V7. Oddly enough I had to flash the rotate fix on it but otherwise great. I tend to get between 4-5hrs of screen time (tested on a plane flight from Dulles to Vienna) per battery.
Slim Bean All Star v5 the best so far...
Nighthawk's Tapatalk
Cyanogenmod 10
I am running slim-star! I really like it. new build is 26.1 ... Currently re-flashing though because it wouldn't detect my network o__o so I couldn't call anyone.
ROM from GS2USR
I flashed almost all the ROMs and the best one so far is the "[P?+Aokp+Cm] P.A.Cman True All in 1 ROM[01-03-13]" by GS2USR . Using v 19.0 currently.
Very fast/ snappy, no bloatware, has all the options you can imagine. ANd everything works great. I went to other roms for change, but kept coming back to this for smooth sail experience.
Good luck brother !
Aokp. Its virtually bug free.

Best T989 ROM Setup
Based on the advice of others who posted, I tried Slim Star v1.26, updated OTA today to v1.27. It is the best of all I tried for T989. No call echo, which was the deal breaker on a few JB roms. No WiFi issues, which I had with the latest CM10 nightlies. Here's the whole sequence of what I end up doing, after a lot of trying things
Flashed Slim Star ROM
Flash the Nexus boot anim from here
Flash Walkman.zip forget where I got that one from LOL, it was in the "Extras" or "Add-Ons" section of one of many ROMS I tried
Flashed latest ASD Kernel (probably overkill I know but I have good luck with this flash as far as eliminating Echo)
Bonus that ASD Kernel flash script does a cache wipe and dalvik wipe and reboot for me, so I do it last (3 less things I have to do in CWMR lol)
Wait 10 min (hardest part LOL)
Reboot, wait 1 min
Set up Google Acct but don't restore phone! Once I accidentally didn't uncheck Restore Phone and it won't let you go back! I had to start all over LOL
Slim Star comes with an app called Update Me, full of Awesomeness. I used the Add-ons menu in there to download a Extras.zip and it's own Slim-Gapps, reboot to Recovery and flash both of those
Today Slim Star did an OTA update of itself to 1.27, dirty flashed that, then set default keyboard to Android because I have to have gesture texting! It just never stops getting more Awesome! :good:
Also Holo Launcher that comes with Slim Star did a Play store update of itself to v2.01. Nice launcher that comes with Slim Star, I set as default, has really good solid Settings organization, never "forgets" my settings like some ROMs did, also wrap around Home screens which I missed for awhile. And it doesn't try to be Phablet, which personally for me I didn't like about some ROMs.
I then disable the following Apps that I don't use (don't know if this is a good idea or not, but it seems to work)
Apollo (I use Walkman)
Google Partner Setup
Google Play Music
Music
Picasa Uploader
Picasa Web Albums
