My WiFi doesn't turn on anymore. I have tried many different ROMs, radios and even switched from twrp to cmw and nothing seems to work. I click the WiFi toggle and then all I see is WiFi starting. Does anyone know what my issue may be or some way to fix it?

Odin back to full non rooted stock. If the issue still persists, call T-Mobile and get yourself a shiny new handset. If you have insurance that is...

I currently have the same problem. I just got the mine used. Rarely it works and most of the time it just says wifi starting. I searched and found about the wlan test with the following code *#232339# and it didnt work. Tried various wifi fix apps, still not fixed. I flashed it with Jedi mind trick, still no success. Could this be a hardware issue? Does any body know where the WIFI module is on the motherboard?

So after the newest OTA update my wlan dl speed decreased about half and is pretty unstable.
Im on stockrom/non-rooted and bootloader unlocked. On my laptop i dont have these issues and i already tried everything with the router. Even completely reseting it and reconfigure it. Is there any knowledge of such an issue?

Just a shot in the dark, but have you turned off QoS and WMM in your router settings? I was having slow wifi problems on my iPad and turning all those options off fixed it... Just an idea, like I said. Seems you have tried everything...

Just about every time my phone deep sleeps, wifi shuts off completely. I've tried multiple roms and kernels, and every advanced wife setting combination possible. Thinking it's a hardware issue in which case bye bye nexus.
I've googled and googled and only really found suggestions like "uncheck wifi optimization" or "make sure turn wifi off while sleeping is (un)checked". Tried all of that, and still persists.
Anyone else have this issue, or can someone give me an out of the box tip?
Thanks

You've probably already tried this, but have you tried a full wipe? Also, have you tried wiping you device's internal memory (SD card), and have you tried reverting to complete stock and starting over?
its a known issue with 4.2.2 roms, nothing much you can do about it, temporarily it can work but problem will repeat itself
I have done a full wipe, but not wiped the sd card, or reverted to stock. Hoping to avoid such a tedious task.
So my options are either suck it up, revert to a 4.1 rom, or get a new phone?
Thanks

Thanks for your suggestion, let me try and report back later to see if this works.
This problem has been constantly bugging me that I want to dump this phone. Seriously disappointed with Google over all these bugs...
but I keep wifi optimization off... should I keep it on?
If you are unlocked, you can flash some custom kernels to fix the problem. I use Fancy Kernel and the developer included a fix in the kernel.
Fancy Kernel OP
Work-around for Wifi drops (Kernel specific)
After fiddling with the Wifi Optimisation, I would like to report back that it DOESN'T WORK.
Since last couple of months I'm facing this. My wifi, once connected, stays connected. But once turned off, after turning on, it would just show the connection as saved, secured with wpa2 and won't connect. Turning off and on multiple times doesn't help as well. Just if i keep it off for some hours or so, then turn it on, it might sometimes get connected. The signal strength is excellent though and once connected, it stays connected. I've tried factory resetting, formatting data as well. Tried a lot of different roms but in vain. Could this be a hardware issue? Is there any workaround for this?
Does this occur with all wifi locations?
Are you running stock rom?

I didn't think the radio would impact Wi-Fi.
I would try to see what happens on another Wi-Fi hotspot, to rule out something with the home wi-fi.

Sure thing I also had bluetooth issues if that helps any. If i turned on Bluetooth, wifi would enable but bluetooth wouldnt ...weird stuff. A complete wipe / Odin to stock fixed it.
Let me know if that worked for you too

It worked but if I restore a backup I would lose WiFi again then I have to restore stock in order to get WiFi back ...then when running an aosp rom WiFi would work for a while then the same issue would return... Very awkward I know :/
I am on S3Rx 3.0 and have never had problems. Today, I noticed my WiFi keeps connecting and disconnecting randomly. All the other devices in the house are fine. Could this signal a problem with my chip? Any insight is appreciated.

I'm curious about this as well. This week, my wifi dropped out seemingly permanently. When I try to enable Wifi, it just sits. When I go back to settings it's always off. Rebooting doesn't help. I tried safe mode, I tried reflashing. I'll probably try a new ROM today just to see if a fresh start helps, but I was wondering if people were experiencing hardware issues with the chip. It looks like my bluetooth still works, though.

Which kernel are you using and are you using any xposed modules? It would be a really good idea to post this exact statement in the S3Rx thread, you will likely get more help.

I'm using stock kernel. Xposed modules are: all notifications expanded, boot manager, bump unlimiter, disable full battery alert, disable critical battery shutdown, greenify. Only reason I didn't post in the thread is because I don't feel its ROM related. I've been running the ROM with no problems for close to a month and this started yesterday without me making any changes.
