How similar is the hardware... - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

How similar/different is the hardware for the Droid Incredible 2 and the Incredible 4G LTE?
I am wondering how much tweaking it would take to port a ROM that is working for the Incredible 4G to the DInc2...

Currently, I think only a lucky few are htcdev unlocked because of an error from HTC. Currently, HTC hasn't released it again. Development has stalled until htc dev unlock is brought back. The Inc4g is totally different with the processor and radio.

[Q] Would Any One Be Willing To Trade A G2 For A Inspire 4g

I am on at&t and I got A Inspire 4g it is is Great Condition no Scratches or anything it is only a month old and i was wandering if if any one would trade me a Canadian G2 so i can use At&ts 3g and since the inspire 4g is new and the G2 is getting dated i would need it to come unlocked so i can use it that is a must and preferably i want it rooted so if you are serious about this you can just reply to this thread and email me your phone number and if you want i will send you a picture of the inspire
bump for your cause.
There is no canadian g2. Chances are you won't get 3/4g with it on att anyways

I'm sure that is what he means as well. The Bell Desire Z is fully compatible with ATT's 3G network.

The Inspire is just the ATT branded version of the Desire HD, which came out around the same time as the Desire Z/G2. And both phones are fully compatible with ATT's HSPA+ "4G" network.
What don't you like about the Inspire? If its the lack of keyboard, you should try Swype. But you would have to play some games in order to get it loaded, since Swype is not a Market app.
Where are you located? In in Ventura CA and am kooking to trade for an Inspire 4g for ATT. I have the Desire Z unlocked on ATT. Its in great condition. Maybe we can figure something out.

I know that the inspire 4g is the same as the desire us I just
ment that the phone itself is new. And I am talking about the desire z
but I thought if I put that in my post nobody would look. The reason that
I want a g2 is that I just love the way it looks and I prefer a hardware
keyboard. And to the person that asked I live in Somerset,Ky Zip Code 42501
and of you are serious about the trade then private message me your
phone number and I will text you

Will a network unlock ever be released?

I have the inc s and absolutely love it, but would love to join you guys at the inc 2 side.
Is there ever going to be a unlock for ATT or tmo or usa carriers like the droid2global? I'm sure I'm not the only one. Inc s costs almost twice the price , same exact hardware, just gsm unlocked for ATT .

This is the Droid Incredible Android Development section.
1) this belongs in the general or q/a section as tis doesn't contribute to development
2) this is the Droid Incredible section the Droid Incredible S is a different phone entirely thus different subheader in XDA.
How is this development? Oh that's right--it isn't. Unless you plan on developing the network unlock, this thread is not suitable for development.

Will that change any of the specs, unlocking it? Since it's not intended for verizon's network

I found this on Google in less than 20 seconds...
Thinking of unlocking a Verizon Wireless LTE phone for use on AT&T's network, or vice versa? Think again. Verizon Wireless confirmed today that its LTE phones will not "be compatible on other LTE networks in the U.S." because "the phones will be on different frequencies," according to Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney.

Can you guys get to the Phone Info screen with the radio menu's? I heard they were taking that out of Sense 4.0, but if not this might be worth looking into. Rezound dev's have it working on GSM now with S-Off running MIUI, If this phone has "hidden" CDMA radios we could have a lot of cross platform dev's without them all having the same phones.

It doesn't. Nor does it have LTE. thus phone will never work on Verizon save someone opening it themselves and transplanting some CDMA radios into it using sorcery.

The AT&T model won't work on Verizon either. The Rezound is a world phone that's why it works on GSM.
Nice insult though.

[Off-Topic]EVO V 4G

So, as most (if not all) of us know, the EVO 3D is going to be released on Virgin Mobile US on May 31st as the EVO V 4G along with 4G WiMax. How many people from this community will upgrade?
It will also be interesting to see how the EVO V 4G competes with the Motorola Triumph and which phone is their flagship device.
So what are your opinions on this phone?
I'll be too broke too upgrade, but I've been reading the EVO forums and it's a good phone. I've read up on the triumph and didn't really think about getting it due to the lack of support in the forums.
EVO would be my choice. Once development begins maybe I'll pick up a used one.

I'll wait for the evo v to go on sale, got the triumph a few months ago.

Yeah, I was really excited, but the price is a little high. If somehow my WFS bricks, I'll probably get the EVO, though.
ill probably get the evo 3d over the one V

Out of curiousity

And I'm not complaining here, but why aren't there that many kernel options to choose from here? I love testing kernel and comparing battery life and performance. but I don't see any to really choose from
I'm wondering the same thing ? I just came to Sprint from tmobile two months ago where i had the htc sensation which had tons of roms and kernals. When i first came to Sprint i got the evo 4g lte and development is great over there but with the gs3 i think alot of people Sprint customers passed on it waiting for the new iPhone or bought the evo would be my guess. Anyhow i will be heading to tmobile in a few months (i should of never left)and probably get the international gs3.

I got the sensation as well. Great phone when rooted. I sure miss faux and the others. As well as mike and vorbeth.!
the S3 has only been out what, 2 months or so? the Evo has been out longer, and even so, i think S3 out sold the Evo by a huge margin..

Evo was out a month longer, the gs3 out sold the evo because it was on every carrier where as the evo was a Sprint exclusive.

People are working on a few aosp kernels, but a bunch of the TW kernel guys that I know have not upgraded yet, such as Agat63.
