Where are the RUUs located? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Can't find any RUU files that work. The one by Condemned keeps failing saying main version is older. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Manually pulling the ics update

I followed the link from the xda forum followed all instructions and went to install, but it failed. Says that it can't verify signature, any ideas?

Either you modifed or deleted a file from the rom or your downloaded ota update.zip is corrupted.
Not sure what the problem is, I downloaded the file from a direct link to Google servers. I didn't modify the package at all. Oh well, the ota can't be far off. Thanks guys!

If you're not specifically wanting the OTA process but want the official ICS then you can use sfhub's FF18 one click and get it without waiting for OTA.
Awesome, that's the road I'm gonna take I think. Don't know why the one click option never occurred to me lol.

I'm trying to flash it through odin, Im using windows 7. Is there any other way I can get back to stock?
is that an at&& or Canadian s3?
Make sure it's the right file. If you read through that thread you'd see that users are being directed to the i9300 stock file...not At&ts.

Might be better off with goo manager and installing twrp. Also when you have an issue, give as much detail so people can be more helpful

Well okay what more detail needed ?

Trying Goo manager although when I try to load twrp it forces close, someone help me I want to ROM this up. I'm rooted and have clockwork but have no luck flashing
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
Check the md5 sum and see if it matches up, or if ur lazy re-download the rom, just make sure its for incredible 2. It could be a bad download. Also I believe you have to flash the kernel after the rom as well
Sent from my Incredibly still working
Okay some help here I know it was right ROM, how do I get right kernal ?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
Roms have the kernel included no reason to flash different kernel unless you are wanting to change clock settings or voltages or fix problems such as volumes.

Thank you, okay so can anyone link me with a ROM reliable one ?

ClockworkMod is the recovery I started out with, it should work just fine and will not affect flashing a ROM. After a few weeks I switched over to 4ext recovery. But I would get a little more familiar before jumping around to much. Have you successfully flashed a custom rom yet? One other thing you may check is the radio version, I recommend upgrading to the .312 or .320 radio.
Not on this phone done rooting on nook color and my first Android so I need to flash a radio and a ROM ?

Download condemned cm.7.2 on your PC and put it in the root of your SD card. I hope you made a backup of your old ROM before you tried this seeing as you're not booting atm

Haha of course I made a backup and I'll try that

I haven't seen this answered (or I'm blind)...Are you S-Off, or HTC Unlocked?
I am s off help me
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Okay sorry correction I am only unlocked do I need to s off ?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Now everything makes more sense...The preferred method for flashing roms here is s-off. It can be done without. I believe the method involves extracting the boot.img from a rom then after flashing the rom, flash the boot.img with fast boot. I haven't done it, so I can't give you better details on that, however it is covered at length in many of the rom threads, so I think a search for "boot.img" should get you on your way quickly. You'll probably want to search with the desktop version of xda.
Edit: However, I think the consensus is that getting s-off isn't terribly hard and saves a lot of headache down the road, so I would recommend that. Again, there are threads with all the info you need.
Thank you, looked at s off method and going to try that tonight then I should be churning through Roms thank you !

No problem. I do have one more suggestion. When you are s-off and comfortable with things, find the twrp thread in development. It's my opinion, and I can't say I've tried all the options, but twrp is way easier to use than the normal CWM. There are other options you could consider; 4ext and CWM touch. It's all about the research around here.

Unroot..

OK so I am trying to unroot my dads phone to take it back into sprint.. I ran the ruu pc36img and the ROM is still there.... am I suppose to down grade the hboot from 2.18 to something else to get it back to stock... I did accidently turned it back to s-on already... I'm thinking I need to root it back and s-off then run the hexhboot then run the ruu am I right..

no help????
There are threads on here that tell you how to do it. Just Google the hboot version with unroot and you will find what you need. Or check captian throwbacks signature I believe he has a guide also.

I got it... Followed the steps in the right order this time...
Oh really? Who would have figured it would work correctly if you only followed the directions?

Odin & Firmware questions...

It's been a while since I had to use odin, so can someone please refresh my memory. I have Odin and firmware downloaded. I have both of them on my desktop. I understand how to open Odin, but how do i get my firmware to show up when I hit PDA in Odin? I know you're supposed to somehow extract it into a folder or something, but I can't for the life of me figure this out. Can someone please give me a detailed description of how this works? I've searched and searched but it's always gone over so quickly and nobody explains this step. I'm sure it's simple, but I'm dying over here. Lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Where did you place the firmware file? I put it on my main screen. So I just go to either my computer or desktop and scroll until I see the file.
When you hit PDA, it's suppose to show all your folders. You're just suppose to find where you placed your download.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I put it on my desktop, but when I hit PDA it doesn't show up under desktop. After the firmware download was completed, I went to my downloads folder and drag & dropped it on my desktop. I haven't opened it or done anything with it.

No... As you can tell, I'm not that computer savvy. What's the best way of doing that? If you could explain the process of extracting and finding the file after I hit the PDA, that's pretty much all I need. I know I'm probably a pain in the butt. I just need a friendly person to explain it to me. Thank you

Just extract it like a normal archive and the extracted file will end with .tar.md5 extension.. After that you can use it with Odin and it will show up when searching for it

What are you trying to do? Root your phone? Return to stock? What version of android are you on, 4.1.1 or 4.1.2?

I'm wanting to update my firmware and bootloader. I'm currently on an older CM10.1 nightly. In order to install any CM10 or AOKP I have to update my firmware to get the latest MD5 bootloader. I have the T-mobile SGH-T999.

Theres a recovery flashable zip in dev section designed for exactly that. Will flash everything but /system.
Use in recovery though, not Odin.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Stop what you're doing. Flash this and you're good. Do it through recovery. No need to Odin.
