Chager Sound - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hi
Do let me know that in custom roms, there are no sound when you connect Charger os USB cable to phone
How to enable this option, I paste Charger_connecting.ogg file in system/media/ui but still not working.
Help

What custom rom do you use?
Did you already try changing the system volume (settings -> sound settings -> volume -> system)?

I try all custom (ICS) roms and yes i try settings vol and system but still no sound
and if i flash GB ROM (Stock or Custom) then Sound OK but in ICS its not working
Sorry for bad English : P

Hmm, I find similar problem with CM7 on Galaxy S.
Could be a CM issue (not entirely sure).
Btw, the filename should be "Charger_Connection.ogg" and the location where it must be copied should be "/system/media/sound/ui".

I did everything and i search all files and folder in my backup of original Stock GB file, but still same result...
any way thanks alot

help with cwm6 needed before flashing cm9

hi all....total Android noob here...
after a lot of research and some 'should i or shouldn't i' episodes, i've successfully rooted my wonder in order to flash to cm9. along the way i've discovered that it is 'desirable' to have cwm 6 installed first.
from what i understand, there are 2(?) ways of doing this...either via stock recovery in the ADB(?) shell or via ODIN...
ODIN *seems* to be the preferred method though. but here lies my problem.....i can't get it to work...i've found several links to download odin, and several links to download cwm 6.....also several different sets of instructions as to how to actually do it.....
it would really help if i had one set of downloads for odin and cwm 6 and one set of step by step, clear, precise, tried and tested instructions....
i've also tried nandroid backup as a 'partial' alternative to cwm 6, but it's not compatible with my phone.
additional info (if needed).....
os version - gingerbread 2.3.5
carrier - 3UK
kernel version - 2.6.35.7-perf-I8150XXK18-CL604835

many thanks in advance.....

Here is the way to flash CWM6 using Odin, if you wanna flash CWM5 just use the md5&ops files for CWM5, which you may need to find them somewhere
1. Download Odin & Ancora.ops & recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ancora.tar.md5
2. Enable USB Debugging in Setting-Application- Development
3. Open Odin.
- Select the ops file, and enable one package in options
- then load the md5(recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-ancora.tar.md5) file with the One Package button.
- put ur phone it into download mode, first turn off phone, then hold Volume Down + Home + Power Button for a while.
- Phone will turn on and show some screen, then you plug in usb cable (it may look for the driver through Windows Update so please enable your computer's Internet connection).
Get the files (please find Odin from somewhere else): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446593
Good luck and sorry for my bad English~

did you forget to add -enable the "USB Debugging" on Setting-?
if you're gonna flashing stock rom with ODIN, you're not gonna need USB Debugging setting..
but if recovery, you need it..

Hi,
how can I know if CWM6 is compatible with my kernel?
Thanks a lot.
Model code: GT-I8150
Android version: 2.3.6
Version base band: I8150XXKL3
Kernel version: [email protected] #3
Build version: GINGERBREAD.XXLA2
as far as I know, recovery has it's own kernel..
Hi all...installed CM9 last night...all went well....
Have noticed that there's no Task Manager or Media Player Apps....is it just that I'm looking right at them and not recognizing them for what they are, or are they not included in the build?....if they're not included, which 3rd party apps would you recommend for use instead?.....
Also, for information, I had ONE minor glitch occurrence when using the camera.....as follows...
Started camera app..
Changed from primary to secondary (self portrait) camera...
Changed the exposure setting to +2....
App force closed.....
Apart from that, no other issues to report.....
A big thanks to everybody involved for taking the Galaxy W and producing such a fantastic alternative to 'stock'.....
PS......will cm10 be ported to the W?....lol...(got the Modding bug now . )
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda app-developers app
Hi again....can confirm that the force close camera issue (as described above), is a continuing problem on all increments of exposure compensation setting. With that in mind, is there a 3rd party camera app available that has the same functionality as the installed app but without the gimmicks?......
As mentioned before, CM9 really is a welcome step up from the 'stock' OS, so if the camera issue is the only issue with CM9, it's still worth 'taking that leap'.....
Once again, many thanks for the work put in on this....Keith
Sent from my GT-I8150 with CM9 using xda app-developers app
better you post that on "CyanogenMod 9 bug report & discussion thread" by THE-E.. so then the bug will added to the list
CM9 very good right if there weren't any bugs..

Moving CWM6 backups to PC
Hi guys, I have a question here. How can I move my backups I created using CWM6 to a PC so I can free up my internal sd space? I don't think those folders on clockworkmod\backup are full backups because the blob folder is much larger.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy W I8150, CWM 6.0.1.2, CM9 Alpha7.

have already and safe.. BUT:
-make sure your USB Cable is still in good condition.. if you are not sure, DO NOT MOVE CABLE WHILE COPYING FILES..
-you had fast enough PC.. DO NOT COPY FILES WHILE LAGGING
-NO VIRUS ON YOUR PC..
-make sure NO SOFTWARE BLOCKING YOUR PHONE DRIVER..
-if you backup to external sd, BETTER USE CARD READER TO COPY THOSE FILES TO PC
-IF ZIPPING OR RARING FILES, DP NOT COMPRESS LIKE CRAZY (COMPRESS NORMAL OR JUST STORE -without compression-)
-always reject/unmount removeable drive TO PREVENT CORRUPT FILES ON YOUR SD, USB, OR ETC..

[Q] Brand new T999V running Cyanogenmod 10, camera doesn't work! Please help!

*************************SOLVED*****************************************************************************************************************************
Hi everyone!
I'm a noob. I got my Galaxy S3 T999V rooted and the boot (recovery?) runs clockworkmod. CyanogenMod 10 is running smoothly, except:
The camera doesn't work! Getting a "cannot connect to camera" error instantly upon launching the camera app (stock).
So from perusing the internet a little more, there are other phone models also suffering from this "can't connect to camera" error.
The fix involves: Booting into rooted stock. extracting the folder "cameradata" in system using a file explorer (AndroZip). Put them on the external sdcard or your computer. Then overwrite your CM10 flashed system/cameradata folder's .bin(s) and setting the permissions a certain way.
Does anyone have the stock Galaxy S3 cameradata files? And I have no idea how to change permissions!! HELP!!

THOSE ARE THE FILES (or click here?)
1. Download the files, unzip them and place them somewhere on the phone (sdcard0 or sdcard1, in some separate, user-made folder)
2. Make sure you have CyanogenMod's built-in File Manager set to allow ROOT access
3. Using CyanogenMod's built-in File Manager, click the "parent folder" at the top until the top reader line says /
4. Look for a folder called system, enter it
5. Look for a folder called cameradata, enter it
6. With nothing selected, press the :: button in the bottom left, on-screen. Select "properties" and choose 'permissions', grant all properties to everything (except the S column). This allows you to copy the downloaded files into this folder.
7. Browse to where you have the files. On the left is a tick-box, tick them all.
8. Browse back to the /system/cameradata/
9. Select the :: again. Select "paste all items here". SELECT OVERWRITE.
10. Individually long-press each item and change it's properties. Select permissions and permit all except the S column again. This allows the app to be accessed, the user to change the app, and the app to save files.
11. Attempt to run the STOCK camera app. CHANGE THE SCENE "SCN" TO 'ACTION'. I've been told this keeps it from crashing again...
12. If the camera app is a bit laggy, try rebooting. If it persists (but camera app is functioning) may want to restore permissions using Recovery Boot (I use CWM).
The difference MAY be adding that one extra file (_ZH), but I recommend moving and overwriting all just to be safe.

I'm new to the whole modding/cyanogen/clockwork thing. I got my Galaxy S3 T999V rooted and the boot (recovery?) runs clockworkmod. CyanogenMod 10 is running smoothly, except a few issues:
- The WiFi and mobile network connections fly between 20% and 60% (with the WiFi signal reaching 98%) when I am just sitting in my room and the phone is motionless. Do I need to update the radios to get better reception? (And how do I do that? I am on Mobilicity in Canada)
- What steps do I take to perform a restore? I've made a backup in the CWM boot/recovery of Cyanogen after I got everything working fine. If I messed some things up, what steps do I take to restore back to that point? Do I press Wipe Data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache, or do I just select Restore and the file to restore using?
- THIS IS MY BIGGEST ISSUE: The camera doesn't work! None of the camera apps work in my CM10. Skype and Hangout using the front camera works, but no photo-taking apps work (they do not even run, just black then they back out to the Apps screen)
So how do I:

May I ask quickly what steps are involved in "reflashing"? Just to make sure I don't do some extra step or miss something.
As far as the stable version goes, I looked for the d2tmo file on get.cm under the Stable tab. I'm assuming that would be the most stable build?
(Perhaps a nightly might fix it??)
Question: Is there not a way I can just install/add this "4.2" camera? I've seen videos and read that people are using that just fine on CM10. Alternately if I boot into recovery would "fix permissions" be any help?

The very best advise is to do the following, doing anything else will most likely prolong
the problems you are having or making them even more difficult to resolve.
First thing you need to do is to install the stock Tmobile T999 rooted firmware.
Here are the exact step by step instructions with the download link for the firmware.
After you have followed these instructions your phone will be working properly and if
you like you will be able to flash any custom roms made for the Tmobile T999 phone
or restore any backups unless the the backup is corrupted in some way or another.
Here is the link to the Tmobile Stock & Rooted firmware you need:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426451
After downloading it make a folder on your desktop and unzip the file
using Winzip or 7zip so the .TAR file is in the new folder you just made.
Here is a link for ODIN which is required for flashing the stock rooted firmware
(a windows app) http://d-h.st/Q14
Download and extract Odin into the same folder you made containing the TAR file.
Here is a step by step guide for you.
Download the firmware of your choosing (use the root66 version if you want root)
Run Odin by double clicking the Odin.exe within the folder you extracted
Turn off your phone and boot into DOWNLOAD MODE (Volume Down + Home + Power Hold until phone powers up, then release and press Volume Up to enter Download Mode)
Once in Download Mode, connect the USB/Charger cable to the phone and plug into the USB port on your computer.
You should now see a COM** port listed toward the top-left of Odin (under ID:COM)
Click on the PDA button in the middle-right area of Odin.
Browse to and select the FW you downloaded (TAR file)
Make sure Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options checked and that PDA is the only other thing checked.
TRIPLE CHECK your settings and that you have selected the correct firmware for your model phone and are using the correct options.
If you are using a laptop, make absolutely sure you are plugged in, or if on battery, that it is charged enough and will not go into sleep mode during flash.
Click Start to begin the flash. This will take a while, so be patient!
Once complete, in the top-left box in Odin, it will say PASS and the phone should have automatically rebooted.
You may unplug the phone and close Odin if you wish.
Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the system to boot the first time and then build its cache! (It may seem to hang during boot, this is normal and you must be patient!!!)

I followed most of these directions the first time, using the guide from High On Android:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPeIZZVYHbY
I used Odin, got root, wiped and got CM10 working.
This seems to be a bit of a problem that has cropped up in other models (i747). The fix that was used was to get back to the Stock ROM, while rooted, and browse to the system folder /cameradata/. In there are files for permissions for the camera. Copy those to the external SD card or your computer, then get back into CM10. Replace the CyanogenMod system folder /cameradata/ with the files you got from the Stock ROM. Then change the permissions for these new files.
So does anyone have the Stock /cameradata/ files? I'd greatly appreciate it!

Yes, I tried all the other options for getting my camera back on track, but only going back to a full stock (rooted) ROM got my camera up and running again. FWIW, I was running an AOSP ROM for months without issue. What kicked my camera offline (the dreaded can't connect to camera) for some strange reason was when I updated to the most recent firmware VRBMF1. Now its straight back to AOSP for me! Thanks for creating this post! Very helpful!
My fix
I'm going around posting my fix to all the camera threads in hopes of helping people find a solution sooner. I created a thread over in d2vzw http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2492304

Eonon GA5151F Mazda 3 Android Headunit

Hey guys,
Pretty new to the android headunits. Just got the Eonon GA5151F with android 4.4.4 installed in my Mazda 3 and it has been working pretty good.
Have been doing a bit of googling / searching around the forums on what rom's i can put on this unit and if i can do the mod where it lets you change the treble, bass, balance, fade, subwoofer etc etc.
Does anyone have any starting links that would get me going in the correct direction. All the posts I have found are for different models or MTU's.
The MTU for my unit is: MTCB-ZD-V2.68.
Thanks in advance!
Look on this thread and make sure you read b4 you try anything ?

I had a bit of a browser earlier to see what I could see. I came across another thread that you posted in regarding someone else with a Eonon headunit running the same MTU as me (MTCB-ZD-V2.68). The hardest part that I am having at the moment is trying to find what image would work with the MTU ZD. Looking through the thread you posted above, ZD isn't listed, I'm just praying i can either change the MTU and put a rom on or I can just change the rom straight out without flashing the MTU.
Thanks

I have the Eonon GA5151F model too, and you can flash the Malaysk custom rom under the HuiFei thread, post 1. It worked for me. It does not flash the MCU, just the rom. Keep the RES button pressed and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
Release the RES button, keep power button pressed
Release the power button once the lights turn on.
Flashing the rom:
Malaysk Rom Only:
Wipe all the data/factory and cache reset.
Note: This will erase the flash memory and give 2 gb of instead of the 1 gb of factory application installation memory using the Malaysk Rom.
It will also delete the factory rom. No going back.
Update system/mcu image from usb.
Once MALAYSK Custom is installed I would change the screen dpi to 180 under settings:
System
Lcd Density
Change density to whatever you like!
Select 180 (or your choice) and reboot
As for the sound mod, I am looking into it and may try it.

I have the Eonon GA5151F model too, and you can flash the Malaysk custom rom under the HuiFei thread, post 1. It worked for me. It does not flash the MCU, just the rom. Warning: only flash the MCU with the correct version. As for stock firmware, I have read the you can use the Carjoying firmware, but I haven't tried it.

The only problem it that the radio will lose your presets every time you restart you car.
Make sure to enable the xposed installer framework and the modules listed.
After that you can go the the XpoxedMTC, Radio Preset Settings, enable Use Custom Radio Presets, then Learn Radio Presets. You have to do this every time you add or modify a radio preset. Now every time you start your car the presets are loaded.
If you want better sound control, try using Viper4Andriod FX
Go to the download section and download ViPER4Android FX version v2.3.4.0 (Android 2.3~5.0): from the Mediafire.
Extract the zip file and install the ViPER4Android_FX_A4.x.apk
Select Super Audio Quality:
Install the driver
Go to the menu, Select UI Settings, Expert
Go to the menu, Lock Effect Menu
Select Headset.
Restart your radio.
Now you can go the Headset tab and Enable, and Force Enable V4A.
Experiment with the setting to your liking.
To autoload ViPER4Android FX on boot, Open the Startup Builder ( brown icon with PCV letters ) in the apps drawer.
Find ViPER4Android and enable it.
Click Build at the top
Click Deliver File on the next screen.
Reboot the system.
This will only effect android applications, not the radio, and not all applications. Some application have settings to disable their own EQs so look for those.
As for everything else, it works as it should.

I can tell that the mod is not that easy. I did the mod on another unit, the Pumpkin KD-C0255, same model as the Eonon GA2114. The instructions give by 7floor on this post do not work. Some of the connections were reversed. Once I get chance, maybe this weekend I do plan to do the mod on Eonon GA5151F. I will let you know how it goes. This mod does improve the sound and gives you better control.

Strange, the "wipe all the data/factory and cache reset" should be above the "recovery system from backup". (last option)
What recovery system version did yours come with? Mine is V4.4.42.
Try the "update/mcu image from the usb and clear all"

I didn't even have that option. I did however have just "update/mcu image from usb" so I gave this ago.
Everything looks to have loaded ok but now i don't seem to be able to connect to GPS.
I can see it searching for satellites and find some but it doesn't actually connect to them.

[F31xx][F32xx][APP] MTK EngineerMode

Hi,
As you probably know we can't acces to the hidden menu "EngineerMode" to increase the speaker volume... until now
I succefully modified the app to work on rooted XA :good:
I will not explain how to use this dangerous menu, you can find many guides for that.
How to install:
- Download the attached zip, copy the 3 folders to "/system/app" and reboot.
- On the phone dialer enter *#*#3646633#*#*, the menu will appear.
- Don't forget to make backups of your partitions before playing with this !
Some features are greyed because of missing apps, I don't know if it's usefull to try to add them ?

Yes you right, just tested on the last firmware and no changes in volume level. On my previous tests I'm sure it worked but on what firmware version and as said before when worked my rom was heavily modified. Maybe it need something more to work, I will try to find why.

Hey,
I've copied all 3 folders as you said but I still can't access the egineer menu to deactivate some LTE bands.
How have you managed to get into the Engineer Menu? Is there a trick or something?

Hi,
This thread was created on december 2016, you have to downgrade your phone to a Marshmallow firmware older than that.
I don't remember if it works on later M firmware but I'm sure that will not works on Nougat.

Thanks for the answer despite the old thread.
Is there no way to access it in the Nougat firmware? What a bullsh*t Sony did with that then.
To downgrade the phone I would need to get the MM Firmware from anywhere. Do you have any link for it? Would reformatting and flashing it through TWRP be enough to get it to boot?

There is probably a way to acces it with Nougat but you have to find updated MTK apps.
To downgrade you have to download the firmware with Xperifirm inclued in Flashtool. Be careful with Flashtool, read/watch guides on how to flash firmware to avoid hard brick.

Did you find the system folder where an 'app' file is meant to be in and then placed them in there? If so then type in the code that was given in the original thread and the menu will appear
QUESTION: how did you find the 'system' folder where the 'app' folder is? Please help

My experience - CAOS R 300l+ (Android 11) Stable so far.

Hi all.
I wanted to share my experiences with you all.
I have the last couple of days run this rom as my daily driver - and I must say, that this is by far the best I have tried yet.
The rom is very fast and so far all features that I have used have worked perfect right out of the box.
I will link you to the rom and write a short guide to how I made it stable and usefull.
Hope more of you will enjoy running Android 11 (R) on your P20 Lite - Mine is ANE-LX1 hw/eu but this should run on all versions.
First som screenshots from my phone:
Links to files:
set-bl-key_TishSerg4pda - https://drivemere.com/drive/ne
TWRP-oreo-smart.img - https://drivemere.com/drive/nf
CAOS R 300I+ ROM - https://drivemere.com/drive/ng
Ekstra:
Netflix apk (this one will work on android 11) - https://drivemere.com/drive/nd

Guide:
Requirements: Unlocked phone - Guess you alle have this by now.
I started off from EMUI 9.1.0.370.
First off i installed the TWRP from bootloader to ramdisk_recovery.
fastboot flash ramdisk_recovery TWRP-oreo-smart.img
Then boot phone to recovery
(Star phone - in eRecovery choose to reset to factory default - type in "yes" and the phone will boot to TWRP.
In TWRP go to "wipe" -> advanced -> Select Dalwik Cache, Cache, Data and System. Swipe to wipe.
Now go to install -> select img -> choose CAOS image and flash to "system image" - DO NOT REBOOT SYSTEM!
Select wipe -> slide to factory reset.
Now you can boot the phone to the startup-screen.
Set up the phone and go to Play Store. Install the app named Treble Info (just search it)
Look in the app to what kind of "Treble and VNDK" used by your phone - Mine was using VNDK version 28.
This next part is a bit tricky!!
Boot to the recovery (as described above -> eRecovery -> factory default -> TWRP recovery.
Now go to mount - make sure that "system" is selected.
Go to advanced -> File Manager.
Now go to folder system -> system -> system_eks -> apex
You will most likely find som folders named (xxx=something):
xxxx.vndk.27
xxxx.vndk.28
xxxx.vndk.29
xxxx.vndk.current
Since my was using 28 I could chose to enter folder .27 and mark the blue folder in the down right corner
Choose to delete folder.
This will free up approx. 1GB system memory to install apps on the phone.
I hope you will like this rom as much as I have during the last week.
Please leave any feedback..
It has been many years, I haven't uploaded rom. I hope I succeed without any problems. thanks

Tried afternoon "caos-v300l-210117-arm64-bvZ.img.xz" ROM, I installed it like any other GSI Treble ROM - flashing extracted .img file from fastboot & factory reset.
Maybe it's an easier way...
tried this myself.. wouldn't boot.. but through TWRP there was no problem
Might be working for some to flash it directly from fastboot:
fastboot flash system "caos-image-file".img
Anyway -still need the TWRP to delete the files from system folder - som might as well use it when it's available

Well.. only if you root the ROM first. This one is not rooted by default. (I prefer it like this) so if you follow my guide - TWRP is the way to do it.
Yes there might be more ways to go there but I wanted to do a simple step-by-step guide easy to follow for beginners.

Is that supposed to be a joke?
caos-v300l-210110-arm64-bgZ - "Z" means that the ROM is pre-rooted with SuperUser and there's is an option turn on/off root in phone settings.

It's such a waste of time. Have a nice day!
Where in settings should this be? Looked all over.. can't seem to find it..
Nevermind - found it.
Forgive me - it's been 10 years since I last worked with Android ROMs.. a lot has happened since then..
This might be a weird beginner question. But in description of rom image i find the AOSP sounds were replaced with Q Google ones. But I can not find any one of them. No notification, ringtone, alarm sounds present on the phone. Why is that? Where can I find them?
I used caos-v300l-210117-arm64-bgZ-lite.img using fastboot install over stock 9.1.0.374.
Sure, I could use 3rd party apps for that, but I hate to use them.

Everything can be found in "audio"folder. Go root/system/product/media/audio , you can copy sounds to the int.storage using root explorer (e.g. Solid explorer) .
