Hello everyone,
I'm using Rasbeanjelly, but the AOSP keyboard doesn't autocorrect Dutch at all. English works fine, but it just refuses to correct Dutch. I really don't want to use an third party app like Swiftkey. Anyone have a solution perhaps?
Have you downloaded the pack of your language from keyboard settings?

Yeah, I did, it says it's installed, but still it doesn't correct anything. It also only shows contact names.
Same problem here:
Dutch AOSP -
No prediction, No correction, downloaded dictionary but appears to be empty.
English AOSP
Prediction yes, correction yes, although later the autocorrect underlines the word as if the dictionary is empty

I have the same issue. I tried deleting and reinstalling the dictionary, but it's still empty. Does anyone know where the dictionary files are stored, so I can maybe add them manually?

Does anybody know a way to install T9 or the newer version from the Dash on the S620? I really like the word-completion feature of my other smartphones and PPC's.
Thanks!
we'll probably have to wait until someone extracts the extrom of the dash rom
Careful what you wish for
why did you buy the S620 if it is to put T9 on it?
The only benefit of this smartphone is the full qwerty keyboard, it sounds a bit strange to want to restrict yourself to the numeric pad to type your messages?
It's actually the newer xT9, you're not restriced to the numeric keys -- it predicts as you're typing words with the qwerty keyboard. Future versions might be more useful, but I find it more of a hinderance now. There's no way to configure it or edit the dictionary, it kicks in when you don't necessarily want it to and memorizes passwords, as well as showing them while you're entering them. Where ever the dictionary resides, mine is full of typos and passwords. Would be nice if you could uninstall or just shut it off. You can press ALT then SPACE and switch to just letter entry, but at some point it'll come back...

I understand that T9 is directed more towards standard phone keyboards, but I use it on my Hermes all the time. When typing a long email, the word completion can save time.
T9 dictionary edit
I am super annoyed by wrong words being added to the T9 dictionary!
I tried using the msT9Ed.exe, but it seems to not find the correct file.
I did find a file called "eT9Cdb.cdb" in the Windows folder, but don't know if this is the right thing to edit.
Anyone found something lately to edit the T9 dictionary?
newer xT9

I think this is what you need to fix your keyboard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2271723&postcount=1
Both fixes in sig as depends on location US or UK?
After install reboot, then in text input box FN+Space ABC.

great site so much info and help
I dont know if this was the right thing to do to place this thread here, but I thought it will get the most attention here because this has been a huge problem for many people..
After alot of figuring out, I finnaly got my Dutch T9 working on my sweet HTC Touch HD with Duttys Rom 1.9b.
This is the way to do it:
Download these files from my server, place all the files in your windows directory of your HD:
http://boomkamp-ict.nl/dutcht9.rar
Next you start up a Registry Editor (I used Kilmist Registry Editor), then you make the following changes to your registry:
(For the people that are not familiar with editing the registry, make sure you use the string value when adding these values)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9]
"AvailableLanguages"="0113,0109,010C,0107,0110 ,010 A"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Sip\KdbFiles]
"0B13"="spd.5x4.Dutch.kdb"
"0A13"="spd.4x4.Dutch.kdb"
"0C13"="spd.Lqwerty.Dutch.kdb"
"0D13"="spd.Pqwerty.Dutch.kdb"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Sip\Language KeyboardIDMapping]
"0113"="0913"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\LdbFiles]
"0113"="NLlsUN_xt9.ldb"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\IME\KDbFiles]
"0613"="hpd.5x4.Dutch.kdb"
After this you do a soft-reset.
I am unable to change the language in the Touch Input Setting, but you need to change the language in the "pop-up menu" from the keyboard.
Now you can enjoy your Dutch T9!
A thanks is appreciated
Greetingz Coen Boomkamp.

Same problem here. The option 'Dutch' shows, but the dictionary of xt9 isn't recognizing the words. Thanks for the effort though
My Phone Keypad..
Here you can see my Phone Keypad, with Dutch selected, and typing a dutch word with my working T9.
could you try the full qwerty keyboard to see if you got the same problem i have?

Yes when I try dutch t9 on my full qwerty the letters are mixed..

When i turn to abc in full qwerty all the letters are ok.
all these settings are in dutch

that's the whole problem, I use t9 on full qwerty, because i can type sooooooo much faster. With all the long words in the dutch language it saves me more than 50% typing time, because after 4 or 5 words all i have to do is press space. So concluding..... no solution for the dutch t9 yet for ezinput 2.0

I would like to try this on my Touch 3g (WWE ROM, dutch user)
can anybody re upload??
Tx in advance!
Hey,
after updating my dz, I cannot disable the spell check, i.e. all boxes are unchecked but it is ignored.
I am writing a lot of mails in German and English and one of the languages is always underlined in red.
Any suggestions?
same problem
Now I realize this might not be all that helpful, but I'm also regularly writing Mails in German and English on the new Gingerbread update and I have not yet experienced this. (spell correction is unchecked in my settings as well).
I just had a look at my settings to find out why I'm not having the same problem:
Maybe its because I have enabled the bilingual prediction setting for German. I believe that this way neither my phones native language (english (germany)) nor my actual german typing are considered to be faulty.
Hope this helps.
PS: I'm running virtuous sense 2.0
Where is the option to turn spellcheck off?

Updated to the latest German BTU ALJ3 firmware, everything is GREAT except one problem. The handwriting recognition only works on the 3 preinstalled keyboard language packs in the firmware, German, (English)UK and I think Korean. I downloaded the (English)US keyboard language, everything works except no handwriting recognition window option.
Any help guys? :crying:
I'm using the UK English keyboard right now, as far as I can tell it works and looks the same as the US version. Any difference I should be concerned about? It's strange that handwriting recognition is missing with the US Keyboard with this firmware.

UP!
I have the same problem on the stock ALJ2 (my phone hasn't even been rooted yet). By deleting Samsung Keyboard's cache and data and adding just the language you want afterward, you can force it to do handwriting recognition in that language. However, the moment you add one of the stock languages (German or English (UK)) it hijacks the handwriting recognition again and it only works for that language from that point on.
It definitely looks like a bug. I hope Samsung fixes this in the next update. Has anyone submitted a bug report yet?
Hi there, I maby got a little noobish Question for you, but I can't write with the S-Pen.
I can write with it on images, and on s-note and stuff like that, but I can't write facebook status, sms or other
places where u can use keyboard or s-pen. Hope someone can help!
In the samsung keyboard, press the button to the left of the spacebar and enter T mode. From there you can write with your s-pen.

Have you tried changing the language option under keyboard settings? I had to change S-voice language to English UK from English US, to get S-pen working on S-voice.

I was having the exact same issue with write input (not just for S-Voice).
Still don't know how it magically changed to English US while watching youtube video's but it did for some reason.
I imagine this is a Samsung bug as I don't see any reason why this should not work for a US keyboard.
I've disabled/removed all the English US keyboards where possible so this won't happen again until it gets fixed with a software update.
Thanks shadow_007 for finding this fix :good:
