Hey all,
I'm having this weird problem with my phone. Whenever I use YouTube or receive a notification which makes a sound.. the audio/sound is croaky. It's very distorted for some reason but music being played via Google Play Music works fine. :S
I was on AOKP JB Build 1 + Franco's Kernel when it happened. My phone just vibrated for ages and then it did an auto reset and after that my phone just became slow and that's when the sound problem appeared.
I've tried installing another ROM (fresh install) and the sound problem still occurs. This time with AOKP JB Build 4 + Franco's Kernel.
Any ideas what's wrong?
maybe try to install a different ROM?
or try returning to stock with the nexus toolkit and see if the problem persists
Thanks will try that now.
Though I did just do a fresh install of AOKP JB Build 4.
There are no sounds from notifications and on YouTube from the speakers but my headphones get sound with no problems. That being said.. I know the speakers do work as I was trying to change the ringtone which produced sound.
u do wipes?

Hey guys, I'm running the Elitemod ICS rom on my Desire Z, and lately I've been having some really really strange issues with audio. Firstly, when I plug headphones in nothing happens, and when I adjust the volume the beep that plays goes through the speaker not the headphones, but music or videos go through the headphones, no headphones icon appears as I think it used to do. Just before I was adjusting the volume and testing out music and noticed it was extremely quiet, I was about to reinstall the louder volume mod from the dev section, but I noticed that the audio was playing through the earpiece not the back speaker..... After a restart everything is nice and loud and normal, should I be worried or was it just a glitch.
EDIT: When playing music with Apollo, it seems that audio is playing out of the earpiece as well as the back speaker. Is this normal?
No, this is not normal. Did you do a clean install of the rom? Did you try other ROM's?
Since the problem started happening no I haven't tried any other roms, in the past yes I've tried heaps of roms. I did do a completely fresh install of this rom a while ago but it just started happening out of seemingly nowhere

I can only guess that it's a hardeware error if it doesn't work correctly on other rom's as well. If other rom's with the same kernel and android version work, you can try to copy the drivers from that rom to your current rom.
I hope it's fixed by installing a totaly different rom, otherwise you'll have to sent this one in to get it fixed as well.
When I'm listening music every 30-45 seconds the sound has a little delay. For a fraction of a second there's no sound and this is really frustating.
I gave a try to different music players, nothing changed. I also tried to change the governor, with 'performance' the problem seemed solved, but sometimes it gave me also little delays, about every 60 or 90 seconds. In airplane mode it seems there are no delays, only a bit delay when I turn the screen on.
How can I have a flowing sound?
I hope you can help me.
CyanogenMod 7.2.0
LorDmodUE-8.9b7 kernel
Does this happen even with the stock kernel? Flash CM7.2 without the LordModUE kernel and try.

Waiting an answer, I flashed again the entire ROM with LorDmodUE kernel. I set up the phone as before and now the problem seem solved!
I was always listening to music while I was setting up the phone and only two apps gave me problems with the audio. These apps are Viber and Google Maps.
I flashed again everything because I have another DHD with CM 7.2 and LorDmodUE kernel and it works well!
I have installed the latest build of PAC rom, and even before this I installed the new Liquid Smooth rom, all this on the same day. I wiped factory data, dalvik cache and everything else. When I listen to music while the headphones are in, and click into the app drawer / any other app, the song I'm listening too gets cut off, and it comes back on where it left off. It is extremely annoying, when the phone itself is in sleep and I'm listening to music it works fine, when I try to open up another app while my headphones are in, I consistently hear the crackling noise. I can't even listen to music properly, how can I fix this? I've installed other music players and its the same result, crackling while using the phone, no music crackling when phone is sleeping, could it be a hardware issue? I'm thinking it isn't because I updated to the official release of the Liquid Smooth rom today, which was EXTREMELY buddy, like legit couldn't handle the number of reboots that happened in 1 hour and the horrid battery, and it only started happening today, I am now on PAC rom and it is still happening, I tried rewiping and reflashing but it doesn't work. Any help?
This seems to be an issue for some on the latest build. If you've installed correctly and still face the same issue you can try reverting back to this RC2 build with the new headphone fix. It seems to be the most stable even with the music issue.

believe it or not, downloading power amp music player just fixed my issue, so if anyone is having this problem, just download poweramp, even though the UI kinda sucks, it gets rid of the crackling noise
:good:
Hi there,
I've been having a weird issue in my HTC X for a while now. I've goggled it and been unable to find anyone with a similar issue so I decided to post it.
The thing is that the sound works fine on everything (music player, games, etc.) until I place or recieve a phone call. After that every sound is accelerated. Even videos play faster that usual to accommodate the sound speed.
The only way to fix it is restart the phone.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm currently using cyanogenMod (nightly from october) but it's been a issue for several months now.
I don't know if the issue is specific for cyanogen roms or will happen with others (will update if I check).

Hello gays, let me share my problem in here so people with same problem can find the solution together.
Here,
My device bottom speaker and microfon error. When im playing music the music still in 00:00 not play, the youtube app cannot play video.
Firstime i think it from speaker hardware, but when im plug headset on jack 3.5mm still not hearing music and error on youtube, microphone also error cannot answer call and record audio.
Its not because volume slider(im set on Ringging)
Sometimes the audio comes again and can play music with or without headset and can play youtube video.
Anyone have same problem and find solution?
#Im sorry for classic question. Because im new user
Sounds like ( no pun intended ) that your mixer paths have messed up somehow , I'd recommend re-flashing your ROM , you could try and dirty flash but if there's no sound after that then try a clean flash , good luck p.s you've put hey gays at the beginning instead of guys lol....
Yesterday im flash 3 different rom. Oos h2os and aosp based. Anf today im format the internal storage via twrp and still same
Hi, got the same prob. Stock, unrooted OP3 on latest OTA update - 7.1.1 - H2O 4.1.6 build A3003_16_170610.
No mic in call. errors with all mic using Apps, InCallUI dies into reboot some times. My understanding is I should try format and flash stock, is that right?
Thanks...
