OMG! I have been downloading and flashing every few nightly update for the cm10 official ROM. The last one woke my galaxy s3 att up! It is the fastest I have ever seen, also showing jellybean build 4.1.2 in about screen. The phone seems twice as fast, I have been playing with about a dozen ROMs in the last few weeks and this new nightly is by FAR the best performer I have seen.
I feel the same way with the latest release of tasks AOKP rom and ktoon 's kernel.

Meh, not worth it unless everything is stable. I'm running LH1 stock with LH9 kernel and modem. So far this gives me very stable and great battery life. Also GW still works great. Don't want to undo all this if it's going to break things.

Wake screen with home button still an issue?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
I have woke with home button 50 times in last 12 hours, has worked every time so far.
Any issues with bluetooth like streaming audio or anything? I use Bluetooth a ton. Also any stability issues? Any random reboots people are experiencing?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
No reboots, no crashes. Bluetooth works perfect streaming in My F150 with Sync.
Why don't you guys make a nandroid and run the rom for a little while? If its not suitable then restore nandroid...no harm no foul.
I will try it this weekend given the recommendations. Does Picasa Sync work yet? I really use that a lot

My streaming works perfectly - and they've fixed the problem with the volume starting off too low.
BUT I still get Bluetooth disconnects during phone calls (not during streaming) if I let the screen turn off.
I have been using the nighty builds since mid September and really haven't experience reboots.

Here's the download page, but it's been having a couple issues the past few days from what the official forum says: http://get.cm/?device=d2att
Speaking of the official forum, here's a link to the official AT&T GS3 cm10 (that's a mouthful, haha) forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778270
Here's a n00b question, how can I change the in call screen to show images that aren't all grainy for my contacts? I've been running CM10 for almost two months now, and update to each new nightly. I've seen no 'instability' from my length of use, however; the in call screen bothers me. Any ideas how to get high resolution images for contacts shown (which are way bigger than stock)?

I believe google just fixed that issue and it was released when 4.1.2 was released so the new cm10 or aokp should have fixed the low resolution screens.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...c-updates-web-contact-sync-with-brand-new-ui/
So, I removed my Google account and re-entered it, and I'm still seeing the grainy images for contacts. I guess I'll see if I can just manually add HD images to the contacts I use most often, but what a pain in the rear...

I just flashed it couple minutes ago, still didn't check it out yet. But everything look nice and neat. However, I have couple noob questions that I hope some pro in here can help me out:
- I swiped out all the ATT bloatwares, I had no idea where all the S-voice, S-memo ... at? I couldn't find them anymore under CM10. Are they not included in CM10 or I accidentally deleted them. If I did, how can I get them back?
- There are no way, I tried everything, ex. Kies, Android file transfer app ... I can't connect my GS3 to my Macbook pro with Kies or anything else. However, I can connect it to a PC only file transfer, but not Kies. So now I can't get any music to my GS3, I'm stuck right here.
- I can't find the default music player for GS3, I just download winamp but I didn't try it because I had NO songs ( Is apolo the default player???
Thanks guys, I will check back often for your solution. Thanks.

This is a little update to the mostly stock ROM I posted when we first got the NS4G. It is mostly the same, I updated the kernel to matr1x 1.2ghz cfs kernel. Its been working well for me. It is deodexed/zipaligned. It has dreamsforgotten's Quick Panel mod, so huge thanks to him for the time he put in porting it. I removed any apps that can be downloaded from the market, I think g-mail and voice are newer than the ones that came on the phone.
Here is another small update. I updated the market, tweaked a few things, and added the matr1x cfs kernel by mathkid95. It is oc'd to 1.2 at boot so setcpu is not needed.
ROM v.0.1.1
ROM v.0.1.1 w/Matr1x 1.4 and smartass
This new kernel still boots at 1.2, but it has a 1.4 slot also. It is also bfs.

No sd card, like its not mounted? Try a reboot and see if that helps. My phone has been doing that since I rooted, before I even put this on it. A reboot helped.
*Wow, I guess you made it pretty clear your sd wasnt mounted :/

Sure enough - that worked. Weird. Hadn't noticed that in the 2 days since I've been rooted. I only noticed it because I went in to Titanium to restore apps and they weren't being detected. Problem solved I guess!
And thanks mikey - I tried other ROMs for non-4g NS and I can't get a data connection with any of them.
Any devs know what is causing the sd to unmount? I was having the issue just stock rooted also.

Your welcome My sd unmounted sometime earlier, I tried to take a pic of my kids and the camera told me to mount sd before using camera. Its happened a few times randomly. It was for sure happening to me before I ever flashed anything, so I dont know what it could be.
What benefit does deodexing do?
None. It just gives you the ability to theme and modify things. Some say it slows things down, others say its faster deodexed. We may see a theme or two in the next few days..its nice to have options til the CM guys figure this out. I was just trying to help, maybe get the ball rolling on things. Also, even if you don't want to flash this, netarchy's kernels are awesome, I recommend flashing one of those at a minimum.

Is this for the 4g only?
If so why not have a separate section for the 4g. Last thing you want is somebody who doesn't know the difference brick the n s.

Personally, I'm very happy you put this together. If nothing else, it validated for me that the other ROMS for non-4g ns are not going to work out of the box.
As I stated earlier, I had zero data services on multiple flashed ROMS. This is the first one that has worked flawlessly...obviously meaning there are definitely differences in some files for ns. Vs. Ns4g and ROMS will need to be tweaked for them to work correctly.
Thanks again for the work.

Mod's, I for one, would appreciate a separate Sprint/CDMA Nexus 4G section please. I've already seen a couple of our members unknowingly flash the wrong ROM and radios!
Yeah let's spread the Nexus S community some more, if anything we need the Nexus S community to stay together. OPs just need to label their post with what phone it corresponds to.
users should look at the title post date before flashing anything.. again, the OP is not responsible for any bricks or anything like that. flashing risks are upon the user.
if you split the Nexus S and Nexus S 4G community... it'll only be Sprint users and it'll probably be a deadzone whereas the main "Nexus S" forum would consist users from around the world with the only exception as the NS4G... you really want your own separate forum where it barely has anybody else? the only forum that would have a difference would be "Android Dev." Q&A/General/Themes/Accessories are the same.
I'm sure compatibility will come forward shortly. Netarchy's kernel for the Nexus S is compatible with NS4G, its in the same flashable .zip too. I don't see why ROMs wouldn't follow this. Just give it some time.
When going to 4g settings, i get a force close. Wiped all too

The chances of bricking by flashing wrong rom are pretty slim, afik. We will be fine with a single ns section. people will just have to read a little before they flash a rom.
That being said, has anyone found any issues with this rom yet? Other than it needs appwidgetpicker.apk added

Thanks for saving my phone!
Dunno what happened, but finally got mount USB storage to work. Long story short: THANKS!
I'm all in favor of keeping one forum for Nexus S/4G, but with clear labeling of what's compatible for the 4G. Would hate to split into two separate forums for reasons listed above.
Potluck JB is a CM10 build for the T-Mobile and Telus variants of the Hercules. Finally - kernel independence is buttery smooth and rock solid.
ALL thanks go to the CM team, TeamChopsticks, theDerekJay, and everyone cooperatively involved in the open-source movement. Potluck is just a stock build of the CM10 repo at this point, with a few cherry picks and other things added to achieve a nearly complete Jellybean ROM for the Hercules, hence the name.
Standard warning and disclaimer:
I take no responsibility if you use this ROM. It is experimental and appears to be solid, but use it at your own risk. Also be aware that this is a little side project I got into while I had some time off, and while I like the idea of compiling my own ROMware, I may not always have time to stay on top of it and/or continue to work on it. This is something to hold you over if you are drooling for a Jellybean release at this point. I will do my best to address bugs that are reported, or at least look into them, but this ROM is supplied without support.

Thanks. Working just as advertised here. bdusmc, there's supposedly a new (old) camera app I think in that rookie thread that fixed the 'green screen'. I haven't tried it though.
Edit... here's the app. Looks like ICS camera. No green screen but still no camcorder. Still... good progress.

Hey, I was able to just install it like any other app - not sure if we are talking about the same app or not...
Also, you mentioned in the Rookie thread that there are only a couple of pic sizes in the stock app? I have 5 or 6 in mine, everything from VGA to 8MP... Can you double check yours?
Okay, to fix the UI Glitchy Animations, you need to change these files, in framework.jar, which you will have to baksmali, then re-smali. You can try with:
A) ICS Version' Certain Files.
B) From Another Phone With Exact CPU/GPU.
Files needed to be fixed:
smali\smali\android\os
Environment
SystemProperties
smali\smali\android\view
HardwareCanvas
HardwareRenderer$Gl20Renderer
HardwareRenderer$GlRenderer

No the hardware is not properly set up in there. So the UI glitches the animations.

Oh, I see... I thought you were talking about stuff like this (the red jellybean/title) which I am having a hard time tracking down the source of... grrr. I'm starting to wonder if it is a generated vector graphic or something - has anyone got any clue of where this is so it can be fixed? I looked in the SystemUI images but still haven't found it.

Yeah, I just tried playing some YouTube and recorded videos and they don't perform very well... Probably a buffer issue methinks. Didn't see any greenscreen issues though on my end... strange. Rotation was good and didn't crash anything though, which is cool.

This is an Android Jellybean 4.2.2 ROM, based on the sources of CyanogenMod10!
I used this ROM on my old Captivate and LOVED it. But I recently got an SGS2 and no Hellybean. So I had to port it for my device.
I then ported it for my friend to use on his d2tmo, and I decided to share it with you all.
All Credits and any Thanks or Donations go to DerTeufel1980 as Hellybean is his baby. (And not the only one, congrats on becoming a daddy.) Allot of this OP is copied direct from his page. And Cyanogen as well, I used his Excellent nightly as base.
Please do not ask in their respective threads for support.
Differences to cm10.1:
- facebook sync integrated
- option to enable high end gfx effects, on lower end devices
- possibility to disable high end gfx effects, on higher end devices
- possibility to activate and customize navigation bar (color of background, glow effect, transparency)
- possibility to customize statusbar (color of background, transparency)
- transparent lockscreen (taken from paranoid android, coded by jesus david)
- edge swipe navigation (ported from sgt7)
- ability to enable tablet_ui (ported from aokp)
- kill-all button at recents panel (ported from aokp)
- task manger button at recents panel (this needs os monitor to be installed, otherwise nothing happens...still wip)
- customizable long-press-back-kill timeout (from 500ms to 3000ms)
- option to use sense4 recents panel --- May be removed?
- pdroid patched, if app installed, reachable at: settings --> system --> security
- added the possibility to search for contacts by nick or company name (with dialpad T9, has to be activated at dialpad settings), cherry-picked from AOKP
- and much more.
BUGS
- None.
- You tell me?

Change Log from Hellybean site
Release - 27.06.13
+ merged cm changes
+ added app sidebar from chameleon OS
+ halo related fix to sms app
Hell YEAH.
Nice work mate
Thanks for all the fast input. Camera fix is in OP.
I am trying to keep it as stock Hellybean as possible, and I don't have this device. Which makes this all that much easier. Was porting it for a friend because I love the ROM so much. I added my wallpaper to the 0404 build hope you don't hate it to much
Here screenies of Quicktiles he added today/yesturday.
Next release I'll compile CM10.1 base from source. I already compile Toro, and Hercules, whats one more. Hellybean usually updates every week to 10 days, sometimes more sometimes less. I hope you all like this Port and we can fix any glitches together as I do not own a SGS3. The Bluetooth has me stumped. It's is broken in my Hercules port as well. In base CM10.1 Bluetooth is fine...I don't use BT but I know allot of people do, so hopefully someone here will have an idea for a fix.

I noticed that BT is borked for all CM10.1 (4.2.2) roms in one fashion or another (either BT media doesn't work right or I've had BT Calls just hang up the entire ROM until you shut the handsfree device off). I've seen this behavior in multiple CM10.1 ports for the T999, sadly. You mention this (BT) works fine in CM10.1 base? Are there any known ports of the same that carry this working functionality over?
Great ROM, btw!

Well CM10.1 Nightly BT is fine for hercules, and toro. Well at least for what little I have used it. ADB connect to laptop etc. And thanks glad you like it. Going to try a fix for BT later will post it and need a Guinea Pig try. But thats hours away.
Keep getting a random pop up "invalid int Hellybean 20130403". Any ideas what that means?

Means I messed something up lol. I think I know what I did. I need to get myself an SGS3 would make this allot more fun and easier. I will look into it and post a fixed one tomorrow. The idea I had to fix BT was a bad one. Running on too little sleep ATM but I am off and will deal with it when I wake up today.
I woke up and noticed Hellybean had another new release. I ported it over left camera fix in, That popup message should be gone. I do not have the ability to test so please someone let me know.
I just put a d2spr port in OP maybe it will fix BT. Again, please let me know. Any feedback is helpful, good, bad, ugly...
Thank you
I removed the older ports. I was told newest port has working Bluetooth. Let me know if anything else is wrong please and thank you.
I guess no news is good news??
Well more than a few have download it, some must have flashed. What are your thoughts? How is it running on the d2tmo? Speed, smoothness, any problems so far? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for the nice ROM. I notice one thing that every now and then I get a pop-up "Hellbean int: then the version number" what is that mean?

Not sure what I did wrong maybe used a base that was a bit older or newer than the ports, never seen it with my sgs2 port that I run as a DD. I believe the 4/6 doesn't have that issue. Not 100% sure on that since I don't own a SGS3 to try it.

Is that happening on the port I posted 4/6? If so, is everyone having this issue? You 2 are the only real feedback I have seen here.
Curious to those running it how is the speed and smoothness in comparison to other 4.2.2 ROM's/Ports? It just fly's on my SGS2.
3+ days: zero pop up, no single FC, stable, excellent GPS lock, getting Google voice MMS via Gmail,
Nice work!
Ok, I have a couple questions.. This SGS3 forum is not at all like the SGS2 which can be a little crazy at times. I can see how many have downloaded my port, which is quite a few, but I really haven't gotten much input. Do you all like it? Are enough of you using this to make it worth my time to port a Hellybean update? I mean porting is not hard to do, and does not take that much time. But its hard to judge if I am just wasting my time here.
Thanks
No I dont think your wasting your time you have me right. Jk but either of the case thanks for your work bud its greatly appreacated so dont worry no news is good news look at baked its hardly got any thing in it so dont fret k

A couple weeks ago while screwing around I flashed that Adreno driver that's been floating around on top of my existing ROM. I forgot I did it, but I just realized that I haven't really had my YouTube or Facebook app suddenly close on me in a while... since I flashed the driver, if I recall correctly.
This could just be a fluke, or coincidence, but I thought I'd share so someone else can test.
Here is the adreno driver (again), make a backup and give it a shot.
This is supposed to be included in the latest CM10.1, so I don't see how or why this would actually work, but I can't think of any other reason for the crashes to have stopped
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8666202/Adreno200_CWM-Flashable_JB_VANILLA_04.02.02.060.053.zip
FWIW I'm on BAM 9.2 which is based on CM10.1.2. I'm running Wind 2.5 with it.
Interestingly, my antutu score is higher than before too... Almost 8000. I usually bump up the CPU to 1.6 for the test.

And are you still getting sudden app closings?
EDIT: noticed the statusbar, that's a v20 ROM... I always score high with those ya cheater! lol

1728, which I run most of the time, but then for giggles I did the stock clock and it was only like 400 points lower, so clock speed seems to have a minor role in the scores. I am running NitroTNT, which is based off of v20f and I know one of the improvements was a tweaked video driver. But one of the major reasons I have stuck with stock is because gaming performance feels better.

Thank you for you efforts, mpsantiago!
I think the driver helped, I haven't seen forced closes on either TuneIn, Google Music or Twitter (where these errors occurred frequently for me).
Unfortunately, a different error appeared (that I already knew from some older nightlies): When I slide right on the lockscreen the use the camera, the screen turns black apart from the uppermost pixels. Can anybody confirm this?

I just wiped caches and so on, and the error seemed gone, but it still occurs occasionally. The only way to return to a normal state is to turn off the screen. When turned on, the alignment of the screen is normal again. Screenshots appear normal (maybe this is helpful tracking down the error?).
Anyway, I can much better live with this quirk than with apps that crash, so I'll stick to this driver in the meantime. Thanks for it!
Flashed a few hours ago along with cleared caches and fix permissions and so far no problems. I'll update if anything changes

I've see the black screen when swiping to camera from the lock screen as well.
I have yet to try these drivers. Will give em a shot. I know my twitter crashes within 2seconds of trying to write a tweet so it will be an easy test.
EDIT: WOW, my twitter and soundhound no longer close! These were previously crashing every time for me (every time I tried to tweet or play a song). So I guess this isn't properly merged into CM..
Good job mpsantiago. I'm glad you wondered *why* your app crashings had disappeared!
I tried these drivers. Previously i was getting app force close problems in Googl Play music, facebook and some other apps. But now all these issues are solved.
But does any face problemwhile running games with CM 10.1.2(stable release). Subway surfers is not at all launching(black screen error), temple run OZ performance is sluggish and more hiccups while running. After running games or some apps, home screen is very sluggish.
Tried by wiping cache, dalvik cache and andreno drivers but of no use.
Can some one help me if already faced these issues?
Are these drivers for P93x only or can they also be used on the su640?
I think it will work on either- they both run Adreno GPUs, right?
Have you guys tried the newest nightlies without these? Who should we tell to fix this permanently in CM?

Yes they were supposed to be using the new drivers even when I first tried installing these and all my apps closing went away. That's the whole premise of this thread.

Exactly... I thought it was already there too, it was a total fluke that I flashed it. Not sure what is different!
BTW, while fooling around with this thing I hit over 8000 in Antutu for the first time with a JB rom... the main thing I changed was in build.prop, I set debug.composition.type to c2d and Max Layers to 4. Overclocking was mild, below 1.7ghz; I set the gov to performance for the test. Not quite what I was hitting on the tweaked ICS ROMs, but very smooth and usable. I might try setting it to mdp instead of c2d just for comparison's sake. I'm not real sure what the difference is between them.
Wiped Dalvik and cache, and flashed the latest CM 10.1 nightly (2013/08/18), V20c baseband, Wind 2.5 kernel, and these Adreno drivers, and it has fixed all of my FC issues! I had just come to accept that CM is buggy on this phone, but this Adreno driver seems to be the cure. Thank you!
After searching the forums for a cure of my Tunein Radio not working I found this thread. I am now in cm10.1.3 RC2 and all is well. Hoping CM team consider its inclusion in the final build

Hello everyone
I've taken the zip file from mpsantiago's post and modified the updater script so as to be able to install the drivers for LG-SU640 as well.
Here's the link for those who want install the Adreno drivers for SU640:

PS: just installed these drivers on my SU640 and everything seems to be okay.
figured since SS closed his dev thread we could start a thread to help each other out with issues and for people like kaotic mpc and other add on creators to post any new toggles, screens, etc

I will keep my flash-ables up in my folder!

I was very sad to see Steve move on, but I'm happy for him and his Note3. If the spouse decides to upgrade from the Note2 we will definitely check out whatever SS is doing.
I decided to take the plunge - yesterday I flashed Wicked Sensations, with a bit of an experiment. I did the nandroid, the wipes, the install all on Clockwork recovery. Also downloaded the MD4 modem. I was warned against the Advanced Restore for all data, but I did it and everything seems to be working fine so far. I like the Kuban Updater but I think it will work better for me once I (eventually) change to the TWRP recovery.
I'll report back on battery life, etc.
I miss Odexed Blue but for now Wicked Sensations is very nice.

If ur too worried about switching to twrp all at once I would recommend checking out @CNexus recovery switcher... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274796. It uses the aroma installer to install twrp ,cwm ,and cwm touch. That way you can test out twrp and if u don't like it it's not hard to get right back to what u like.

I was a very dedicated Odexed Blue user too. Actually still have it as my daily, but now all of the google updates are happening and my apps are ugly again.
I was curious about doing an advanced restore. Did you do it for data only? Even the odexed apps work? This makes me much more likely to make the switch. At least until I upgrade my phone in March. However, from what I've been reading I'm not so sure I'm going to jump to the Note 3. When the biggest complaint on the newest phone is call quality I really question what the manufacturers are focusing on.

Yes, I did the Advanced Restore - Data Only...and yes, everything has been working fine. I was prepared to revert completely via nandroid if I had encountered any issues - but there were no issues whatsoever. Once I felt comfortable, I replaced my recovery and did a nandroid of the new set up.
Spouse has a Note2. Spouse isn't really a power user and hasn't shown any interest in the Note3 so we are waiting. I don't know anyone local with a Note3, so I haven't checked out the call quality.
3 out of our 5 family lines are now off contract - mine and the other remaining contract line will go off in the spring so we are waiting to figure out our next move. For now I'm perfectly fine with my S3 w/extended OEM battery and Wicked Sensations.
In general Sprint has been very good to us - we have LTE nearly everywhere we go and the only dead spot in our county seems to reside in spouse's office, so Sprint gave us a free Airave. But paying $250/month for the five lines plus Airave is getting to be a drag. I'm the only data hog in the family - typical use over 5 to 6 GB/month as no WiFi at work and I use Google Maps turn by turn for travel. So we are weighing options.

Well...after looking at the new T-Mobile plans and testing their coverage with a prepaid SIM for a couple of days, we have decided to move to T-Mobile. We will be saving $100/month with 2 unlimited lines & 2 with 2.5GB. I moved Mom to Ting so she could keep her old flip phone. Her service before tax will be $9/month.Found nice phones on Swappa - need to sell my Sprint phones. We will break even on switching costs including $140 in EFTs few months...after that it's all savings for us.

You can edit the build.prop file to get the ota notifications to stop. I thought that I was locked to odex roms as well, but I've made the switch over to Wicked Sensations (not the 4.3 version yet, but Dazed does have one, there are 2 separate threads for MD4 and MK3) and its a similar experience to Odexed Blue.
