I'm trying out a stock rooted deodexed build I made a little bit ago and it seems like the scrolling is a little bit different from FI25. Also, I haven't run stock in forever, so are these wifi icons the same as they've been for a while? :screwy:
And yes the recent apps "bug" is still there but can be fixed pretty easily.

Can you change that FI25 to read FI27 on post 1 please?
Also, someone set me straight please because I thought #1 and #2 were changes already in FI25. Are we not creating a changelog for FI25 to FI27?

Damn it. I always forget that part. And yes it is a change from FI25 to FI27. I fixed the OP. Thanks!
I'm running Re-Calked 0.2.1 FI25. Last night I flashed Agat's 0.6.0. No problems at that point. Early this morning I flashed the FI27 modem.
Checked my phone later and had the dreaded LOS. Flashed back to the FI25 modem and all is well. I'm going to need my phone for awhile so I'll have to stay on 25 until I can get some free time to try again. I've only seen this on my phone a couple of times, and the last time was probably last December.
Anyone else seeing this? I'm in a good signal area, and my wife's phone had a strong signal at the time.
Hopefully this is an isolated case.

I had this problem for a while now. The only thing that fixed this was freezing the Sprint ID process using a free app freezing app like App Quarantine. After freezing the app, my phone behaved wonderfully.

Looks like Samsprint is working on the next upgrade finally.... I had been looking for the .rdf files nearly daily since release and I knew Samsprint reps were full of **** when they said it would be released soon.
http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-D710/EJ28.rdf
Based on OG Epic experience, I would expect at least 3-4 more internal testing releases before OTA release. I will plan to reach out to Samfirmware to see if we can get a leak. If anyone has a premium upgrade /w samfirmware, feel free to ask direct for us since I don't
For those who don't know the releases are based on letter for the month, J for October since J is 10th letter in alphabet, and the 28 is the day. So this is the first testing firmware so far and it was made October 28th.
Edit: ej31 now....

They are just files made used somewhere for sprint whenever a new firmware is created. Most the time they are internal testing so all it shows really is they are at least making updates which before now they weren't.

Not sure if this was already posted, at least I didn't see it. Anyway, if it was, my apologies. Just wanted to pass along.
According to the Sprint website
12/15 update - for those devices where the update has started but did not complete successfully, there will be a fix available soon. The target is next week, but nothing 'official yet'. I don't have information on whether it will be a new OTA push or available only via the Service Centers, but will post an update as soon as I learn more.
It seems like there were more than a few issues on the whole EG30/31 thing so they need to do it again, lol. I'm just wondering if now they will take the opportunity to just combine it with the EL13 update.

how long did it take you type that out-of-context pink floyd line and subject line?
Hey guys and gals-
Just thought I'd share with you something I'm really excited about. I've been flashing pretty much everything that has come out over recent weeks, and even months. I just was on CM9 build 3.1, which was incredible, but unfinished. I thought it could be my daily, but it started to go into airplane mode and lose mobile data randomly, so I had to restore. After doing so, I feel the need to share with you a setup that I am blown away by. It is:
Gingerbread (Android 2.3.6)
FB 21 Modem (Steady's newest release)
EL29 Kernel (I know some might be upset it's not the newest available, but go with me here)
Everything is just SO ridiculously snappy, I can't believe what I have been missing. Since the "about phone" only has Gingerbread.EL29 in it and not the rom's developer, I can't be certain about the specific ROM I used but I'm fairly certain it's Blazer.
Anyway, enough of the rant. I suggest those who need a break from flashing all the newest things give this combo a try and let me know if you have a similarly enjoyable experience!
Out of curiosity, how long have you been on this setup?
Surely one of the [email protected] here will chime and tell you of a better way to be certain who's kernel you're using? I could be wrong...
Ill check it out now. If nothing else it will take my mind off the fact that I'm jones'n so hard for CM9 Alpha 4, so why not.
Any particular flash order? ...flash this combo all in one CWM session, or reboot in-between? ...etc. Any additional details you can provide would be helpful. I'm bored atm anyway.
Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately like I said, this was a restore which ended up keeping my FB21 Modem with EL29 Kernel. So I don't know the recommended way to flash, but if I were to do it on my own I would probably say format all, blazer EL29 ROM (with kernel), and then this morning is when I actually ODIN'd the FB21 modem, so probably boot up, turn off, enter ODIN download mode, and do that last.

Another good sign. I think I need to stop typing and start flashing.
So to be clear FB modems work fine with Gingerbread ROMs? No issues flashing? I was kinda on the fence about it. Im waiting for a stable ICS ROM.
Nevermind flashed it anyway on Blend 2.6.2 ROM. No problems.
Edit, weird LOS issues moved back to EL29.

Yes, no issues. A great improvement, actually.
For reference, here is a screenshot of my home screen. Note the status bar....can't recall exactly which ROM this is from but it's pretty distinguishable. My favorite thus far.

This is a match of sextape's FL24 leak with only root added.
This means it should behave completely as if it is stock or released by either OTA/Kies.

JB are betas at best. As far as I know, at least everything works in ICS. I did get caught in a boot loop today with this. It was the not rooted one and I used MOP to flash and inject root. In the beginning, it seemed to work okay. I tried using cpu classic to underclock it to 1000 then I went a step lower to 800/200 ondemand cfq. It didn't like that one bit! It seemed the battery lost quite a bit of life between reboots and the phone was getting warm, not the battery. Went back to what I was using before. Maybe I should try the computer odin version and see if it behaves itself.
It takes a lot to put all this together so we can flash whatever whenever, to dismiss this so callously is to dismiss the hard work these guys are putting in. Thanks everyone involved.
Version 0.4.0 out. Includes some governors.
I'm going to be looking at how to get this stuff over to Virgin and Boost while letting Agat continue to add features already in older kernels... that way we're not stepping over each other! :highfive:
getting great battery life.
Using this FL24 stock rooted. After the 2nd day of usage. Got about 53% by the end of the day. Almost 16 hours. See attached screen shot.
Previously, I tested JB version FL16 stock rooted. The battery life was horrible. Locked up a lot! Had to remove my battery from lockups more than 5 times.:crying:

Ive noticed that different modems act differently in different locations. For example some modems work great on the west coast and don't work good on the east coast etc. I would just stick with whichever modem works best for you in your area.

Since im being redundant, hey manufan, its Time for you to come back to the dev school. Class is in session on how to apply gradients and compile .9pngs. Oh and xml editing, and how to decode smali, and add options in settings/layout, oh and i guess i could go over how to batch color multiple images for theming if you haven't got that down yet either.... So how's that modem working for you bro?

check the jellybomb thread this has been an issue for all the new modem josh doesnt want to update to, hopefully he does sat some point lol. but just to let you know what you're looking for you have to manually edit some build prop lines to say MC3 instead of LJ7. doing this will also stop the update from popping up if thats happening to you as well.

The build prop shouldn't affect what the baseband says in about phone, unless Josh did something completely different.

Agreed. The modem will refect the build separate from the build prop. Also packed this modem in a zip directly from the odin tar released by sextape AND tested the zip. After flashing it reflected MC3 and i had no issues. Several members of my team and other xda members have reported that they've flashed it through CWM and mobile Odin with the same results. I do believe that you must have flashed the wrong zip.
