So when I disconnected the usb cable from my phone to my laptop, I got an error saying that I didn't safely remove the phone. I have plenty experience properly removing my phone, idk why it didn't this time. But now my sd card won't mount at all, nor will it show at all on my phone or on my laptop when I connect my phone to the pc through usb. Anyone got any idea's ?
unplug the SD card and put it back, turn on debugging in your phone change it to or from mtp mode might work
that didn't work
Will the card work in a reader?
Unplug your phone from your pc, take put the sd card turn off your phone. Turn it back on let it fully load. Shut it off again and put your sd card back. Turn it on and restart your pc now plug it in to the computer
Also if you go to settings > storage there is an option to mount/unmount sd card

You also may have corrupted it, if you did not safely remove it from the pc. In which case try an adaptor and connect directly to pc and windows may want to fix it. Do not fix with windows. I had a card be totally ruined like this. Click cancel and then open the card and backup all data then remove from pc connect to phone and format the sd card in settings. Reconnect to pc and restore.
Hopefully you don't need to do this. Good luck.

I reformatted my sd card by mistake and now when I plug my phone into the usb charger the only thing that happens is it starts charging. I get no options. Did I delete my drivers? If so how can I fix this?
Thanks
Go into settings/connect to pc/make sure that ask me is check.
Tried
I tried this but I do not have that option on my phone I am running cyanogen mod ,, any other ideas?
Do you have an sd adapter? see what files you have in the sd card.
I dont have an sd adapter.. but, i am pretty sure everything got erased when I reformatted the card.
okay. take the battery out off the phone than put it back. the phone should install an android secure file when you turn it on.
I have tried at as well. but, i think because i am running cyanogenmod its stopping it from installing the file. is there a way to update my rooted phone with this file?
So my phone and computer will not detect my sd card after I dropped my phone.
Here is everything I have tried:
hard reset
sdhc micro adapter for my computer
pulling out sd card and reinserting
pulling battery and letting sit for awhile and plugging battery back in
I followed the sd card and usb fix issue found in the forums, but everytime I install the jdk the sdk installer says it is not found.
I know if I am able to format the card somehow it will fix it i think. but I cannot get anything to recognize it, or if I can figure out what single driver is missing on my phone I can figure the rest out from there.
The sdhc adapter works with the new micro it came with but not mine.
I am still able to use my phone but I obviously cant do **** without the sd card.
I have a recent backup of my sd card on my computer I just need a way to get it to my sd card and I am stumped.
Thanks for your help guys
Is there a way to force my comp to read the sd card?
Update
One thing I was just able to do was to take the micro sd that came with my adapter and my phone reads it just fine. However it is only a 2 gb. Like I said, I have a back up on my computer of everything that was on my sd card at one point. Being that my phone can read sd cards, does this help at all with somehow fixing my factory one?
Since I am now able to get into rom manager and my phone recognizes some sort of sd card. Would flashing some sort of sense ROM allow me to put my original sd card in and format it?
If all you want to do is repartition and/or reformat it, boot into recovery and do it there. While in recovery, especially is your recovery is amonRA v2.3, select the "MS-USB" option and serif your computer detects it while you're connected via USB.

I am currently using clockwork. I tried the mount unmount options in recovery mode. I have never really tried amon-ra for anything but now might be the time to give it shot.
Okay so I had my dinc2 plugged into the computer to put stuff on the sd card. I ejected it with v-cast but must have pulled it out too soon. I tried pulling the card and putting it back in, pulling the battery and rebooting the phone. I tried plugging it into the computer again but there isnt an option to mount it when I try to change it from charge only. I try to access the card from the computer and I am not sure which drive it is. It shows the android in the devices on my computer. I am at a loss as to what to do. Can I repair the card? Im using windows 7. Thanks for any help.
Try testing your SD card by putting it into your pc directly using the bigger SD piece that your micro can fit in.. if your pc still doesn't read it, it might be dead. I've had it where I pulled it out too early and had to do that.. unfortunately I had to reformat the SD card as well and lost everything on it... Thank god for backups

Need a way to access internal memory so I can fix my usb or sd card see following for information:
Short Version:
USB wont work and SD card wont work so I cannot use the following method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243
Long Version:
So right after i had backed up my rom i did a wipe, then the phone stopped recognizing my sd card. I took it to Sprint they couldn't figure it out, so i was stuck in Bootloader. yesterday i did a hard reset and wa-la i can now use my phone ...sorta. It will turn on I can access everything, but it freezes up and shuts off after 40 seconds (i got it to stay for 2mins one time) also it still will not recognize my sd card. I tried other cards still no luck and I know my card works because I can use it in my laptop. So i did a little searching on xda and found a fix, but i cant do the fix unless i plug my phone into the laptop and run a cmd prompt well now here is the other problem my computer sees the phone (listed as My HTC) but my phone wont recognize that it is plugged in. It will charge when it is shut off thats about it. Well back to xda and there is a fix for the usb, but.... I need my phone to recognize my sd card because the files will be on it. In short to fix my sd card i need usb and to fix the usb i need my card I am stuck in a horrible loop, so what I need is a way to access my phones internal memory so I can install the usb files on it so that i can fix usb then my card, then recover my rom.
Thanks to wall who help or at least try
Im not totally sure if this will help, but i know you can mount the sd card as usb storage in Amon_Ra and also in settings under "storage" or so i believe there are settings for mounting and unmounting the Micro Sdcard check those, it should be mounted in the settings for your phone to see it. hope i helped
I just had this exact same problem. Nandroid, wipe, flash, then stuck in bootloader spent two days trying fixes, unroot, root, and,had to turn it in. Luckily best buy has an awesome warranty.

thanks all... ended up replacing my phone, but if anyone ever finds a way to fix it let me know! Thanks again
I was really hoping that this thread would not dead-end. I've got what sounds like a similar issue...in addition to not being able to reformat my SD card (in Windows or in Android) due to it being detected as write-protected, but it's not write protected.
I'm really anxious to try the aforementioned thread to fix USB and SD, but I can't detect, mount, or format my SD card. Am I screwed?
*EDIT* Fixed the write-protection issue...working on the rest now.
*EDIT* Still can't format card through Android. Is there an ADB or fastboot command to format the SD card?
I can no longer access my SD card from my windows pc when connected by USB. This occurred on the same day that i unlocked my bootloader, installed the java sdk and android sdk.
I have the phone set MSC (mass storage mode) and connect it by USB as I always did in the past.
Windows recognises that something is connected and a new removable drive is created.
In the past my phone would give me the option to connect the memory card, however this no longer happens.
Clicking on the new drive in Windows causes a message box to pop up saying "Please insert a disk in drive..."
No amount of fiddling with usb settings (debugging, MTP, etc) plugging / unplugging or rebooting has made any difference. I've tried reinstalling USB drivers and removing & reinstalling Sony PC companion. I've also tried accessing the sd card from ubuntu in a virtual machine, but that also doesn't work.
I can view the SD cards contents from my phone and through an adb link.
Does anyone have a solution? From extensive googling, the only things i can see that i haven't tried is:
- trying a different cable (which has been suggested but sounds pretty daft to me)
- reformatting the sd card
Any other suggestions? If i do have to format the sd card, are there any good guides or is there anything i need to avoid doing???
Can you read the card from a card reader.
if you can it is then either drivers or the cable

unfortunately i don't have a card reader. I'll give it a try tonight in my girlfriend's phone and with a usb cable and see how that works out.
it will definitely work with a card reader...this problem occurs when usb storage suddenly stops working as soon as usb is connected..i guess best way is to reinstall ROM if the problem persist.
Flashing firmware (global v62) got it working again )
