I have in contacts/messeging all sms/about 300/ but in messeging appl. under the same contact are all dissapeared, just the last sms is in???
How can I put it back all sms in messeging appl.?
Well what I'd do first is post in the correct place....
Second get a sms backup utility.
Third try wiping the messaging apps data.
I take it, it's the stock messaging app?

What files would i need to remove to completly remove/disable the stock text messaging app? I found a vanilla one i like very much and i keep getting double texts in both. D:<

You can turn off notifications via going into the stock "text messaging" app through your apps list and then go into "messaging settings" and uncheck the "notifications - status bar" button.
Then you will only have your new text msg app notifying you.
It still shows up in the new messaging app.

You can delete it from /system/app via root-explorer or adb Or you can uninstall it using TitaniumBackup.
download the app rootuninstaller.
and then uninstall it.
I tried to use system app remover to remove messaging. I still get double texts in my vanilla message app.

last time i had this problem (double sms received). i re-flashed the rom.
btw, i wouldn't remove the stock messaging app through, i think the 3rd party sms apps actually use the system one for the actual work, they're more of a "front-end". just disable the notifications should be fine.
if you install another sms app and now actually receiving double sms (not just the notification), i think there's something else wrong...
Hi all, I use ChompSMS for my messaging, and was wondering if I could use titanium backup to remove the stock messaging app safely? Would I still retain MMS, etc?
If not, is there any way to hide it in the default SE UI? Some app/tool?
Think chomp is standalone, so I would day yes, you can uninstall/freeze it.

no chomp doesnmt offer sms or mms replacement. If you remove stock you wont recieve any texts. You can use handcent though and remove stock that will work fine thats what I got.

Thanks everyone. I tried GoSMS, but I really don't like their handling of blacklisted threads. I've been using Chomp for a long time so it's what I'm used to I guess.
I'll try freezing/uninstalling and see if things go haywire. I'll update the thread.
have you tried using handcent? They have excellent cutomization. But the bubbles are so ugly I hasve to use android theme style.
apps like backup Master?
I have a touchwiz 5 launcher installed and I love it (only one that doesn't cut off dock when phone is slid into landscape mode), but the mms icon is stuck with a notification of 1. I can have no messages or 6382 messages, it only stays one. It does it for another Touchwiz 5 launcher I had. Is there anyway to fix it?

If you don't care about all of your messages you could try and delete data for the messaging app with titanium backup... you could also backup the messages with an app first just in case it don't work.....

it randomly took off the "1" notification (I didn't clear data yet) and I texted myself, now notifications don't show up. Dang it. About to clear data

Hi guys, i had a clean install of the latest update, and when i tried to send an SMS to a contact i chose Facebook Messenger and Always. How can i change it to the stock SMS app?
In facebook messagener option unthick option "use facebook messanger to recive and send regular sms"
I deleted it for that reason

Tried sending a picture from gallery using WhatsApp. Does not send. However taking picture from the n WhatsApp menu and sending works.. ant idea why? How to fix it?

No problem here. Try to do a fresh install (clear data first) of WA (don't forget to make a conversation backup first).
