Hi everyone,
Sorry if my poor english make hard to undestand my question.
I'm trying to flash my LT15a with the Android 2.3 ftf's and having a error when select the firmware in flashtool.
When i select the firmware, flastool don't list the files in the collum "firmware contents"
and after click [OK] button, I got the following error:
xx/xx/xxxx xx:xx:xx - INFO - Flash canceled
Anyone know what are going on, or how to avoid this?
I have tryed flash this releases:
LT15a arc_v2.3.4, 4.0.2.A.0.42_Generic_America.ftf
LT15a_2.3.4, 4.0.2.A.0.42_Rogers.ftf
Thank's for the attention.
First of all post your questions in the Q&A forum.
But I have had the problem before and I'm not sure why. Might be a bug with Flashtool. I usually downgrade Flashtool to version 0.2.9.0 and then it works fine. Try that.

Hi everyone, i just bought a Xperia Arc and its currently running Android 2.3.2
My questions are:
1 - Which is the latest version update for Xperia Arc ?
2 - I tried to look for an update using the "Sony Ericson PC Companion" but it says that there is no avaible update. Why is it happening?
3 - The fact that my carrier is "VIVO" (From Brasil) means i can´t update my Phone?
4 - Is there any "Safe" (I know every way may brick your phone,i´ve flashed tons of custom roms on galaxy phones) way to update it to the latest version (or at least to 2.3.3 where i´ve seen some cool features) without breaking my 3G connection with my carrier ?
5 - I Know ICS is going to be released for our phones, but, will the update be Global or Carrier-by-Carrier like ?
Thanks in advance for any help/answers.
I will stay tuned here !
Flash with flash tool.
Debrand it with generic 2.3.4

Can i flash a "Global" Rom that works in every country, with every carrier ?
That would solve my issue,if theres any 2.3.4 (Which i found to be the latest version) rom (STOCK ROM,not CUSTOM) that i can flash safely.
Waiting for answers.
Where are you developers ?
Read the stickys.
Search for flashtool and read how to use it.
Then search for 2.3.4 generic world and flash it with tool above.

Safe ?
Does 3G Works with worldwide carriers ?
No it's not rooted (well you can flash pre-rooted one)
Yes it is safe.
Yes 3g works.

Also,Flashing this global rom, will prevent some apps from SE like TrackID to work or whatever ?
I´ve read it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133650

Hello
I had seen that to make the Xperia Arc Root S is necessary to make a "donwgrade" in the system leaving it to .42, but WHAT would ftf?
Do you have any tutorial taught to do these procedures?
thank you

It's not that simple to find the right stuff for your phone (it took me a while to find the versions I wanted). First, you need to downgrade your firmware to version 4.0.2.A.0.42, you can find the right TFT file and flash it using Flashtool or use Wotanserver, then you need to use DoomLord's Rooting kit. There are plenty of tutorials and stuff on the net, just go and explore
never tried it on an arc s though, but has anyome tried using the outdated z4root app on the device while running on official ics 4.0.4?

I'm not sure what you've tried exactly, but you do know that it's not necessary to unlock the bootloader to root the phone right?

I have the same problem. I think that it is due to an official upgrate for Android 4.0.4 with PCC. Even if I use other way to root the mobile I can't. It is impossible to unlook the bootloader with the official way and I currently do not find another way to do it.
I am still looking for solution. :silly:

Better would be if you guys had just reported the thread to a moderator move to the correct section than making useless posts.
For the OP, search version 15.1.C.2.8, this is the latest version available for Xperia M single SIM, and it's Android 4.1. For Xperia M dual, there's no 4.1 build available, only 4.2.2, and the latest version is 15.2.A.2.5. Just search for an unbranded FTF and flash it to your phone using FlashTool. The firmwares are multilanguage, so, just find a FTF and flash to phone...
