Hi guys,
I am in dilema between keeping the HOX International or waiting for the HOX+ that is coming up shortly. I really like the form factor and the design of the One X series. I abandoned my "religion" in iOS just to convert to Android for my sake.
As we all know that the HOX+ is slightly better than the HOX S720e (more battery and CPU is a bit faster). However, if they both run on JB, do the new changes make any different?
I also hesitate to deal with the defective hardwares of the original HOX. I have checked it carefully, but I am not sure if other issues will come later. I am using it on Straight Talk and love the service. I haven't experienced any slow down during the peak time in Minnesota.
Please help me to weight my decision. Thank you
I really don't think there is going to be a lot of difference between them in real world usage.
Might be worth waiting for the +, and then buying the 'standard' one as the price is bound to take a dive.
Depends if you want a white phone as the One X+ only comes in black (booo!!). There isn't a lot of difference but the increase in battery might be worth a go...
If i were you i would definitely go for HOX+, but it aint worth the price difference.(approx 200$ without packages)
Im actually thinking of exchanging my HOX for HOX+ (dont tell anyone)

I have ordered X+, is new, is Super Quick, is JB and maybe all teething cured.
X+ would definitely be the better phone, if only for the bigger battery and better front camera. But I doubt that developers will buy yet another iterative phone to develop on.
I would wait only if you need LTE and the band is right for your network.
Kinda surprised the One X+ isn't LTE but as there is the One XL I'm not surprised
Hey guys, I am intrested in purchasing the HOX depending on how good the updates for the One X are.
*I wanted to know what is the camera like with the 4.1 update or even better still jelly bean
*Also has the video recording frame rate been improved over the rather dull 24fps.
*Finally the battery life how does it fair now with the updates
I was considering the HOX+ but I am concerned about the audio not being as good as or as loud as the orginal HOX for some reason and also I really like the White HOX but things that do appeal to me in the HOX+ are the 64gb memory considering the HOX has 26gb user availble and on my S3 my 32gb card has more than that, plus the built in storage aswell.
Also the fact the battery is bigger on the HOX+ and it uses a slightly newer version of the processor.
Despite this the price of the HOX is tempting as it is £380 on amazon or expansys while the HOX+ is £474 at Clove
wait for the HOX+ . much faster ang more battery.
If I was buying a new phone now, I would probably choose the One X+. But you have to remember that the original One X is likely to get cheaper when the One X+ is released. And to be honest, the real world difference between the One X and the One X+ is really minimal. Maybe the biggest advantage over the original One X is the LTE support but this is only relevant, if you live in the US or parts of Europe where LTE is supported. The processor is just slightly faster and the battery is a bit bigger so they won't give you a significant difference. I would go as far as to say that it would be completely pointless upgrade if you already have the original One X.
Thank you all for your inputs. I admit that I love the white color of the HOX. The "so-so" battery life is not a big problem to me because I have developed a habit to charge the phone whenever I have available access to it.
So saying that, I would like to know how the camera performs on 4.1 update or even jelly bean update
has the video recording been boosted from 24fps and
battery life how good has it got since update I think these will lead me to my decision of which one to purchase tbh.

I reread the press release and checked wikipedia and yeah, they've done it again; made the models confusing by having LTE and not LTE but with the same name. Maybe. Or whatever.
Oh well, given that LTE is gonna be on different frequencies everywhere, looks like 4G is going to be a bit of a fail for roaming. Probably a good thing considering what they charge for roaming data
I think LTE is the only cheeseburger for ATT subscribers. For those who use Straight Talk, it may not be an option. Correct me if I am wrong
It is funny that a seller already lists HOX+ on sale on eBay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200827411296?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619
The price is a bit unattractive
I would wait for the One X+... the significant difference on the larger battery, and the improved front camera really fix the issues I've had with the One X.. regardless of having my One X rooted with custom rom & kernel. You just can't hack a battery to make it larger. =P Plus I've found that though the front camera is 'good enough' for video chat & photos IF there is enough light.. it really does need to be upped - which they did for the One X+. Everything else is the same, but it is nice to have LTE with the Tegra 3 chip - as long as your network provider has good coverage.
They are about the same just tweaked abit but i would wait just for the 64 gb of memory iv nealy filled my hox with just games and theres more coming out and dont wont to delete anything

Hi all.
I'm delighted with my One X but my friends all keep telling me that the Galaxy S 3 'blows it out of the water'. I obviously don't agree with them and I'm not particularly pleased that Samsung have created their own band of little fanboys like Apple have.
What is your position on this?
The way I see it, the One X:
Looks and feels massively superior, like a premium, well designed product
Has a better screen, the S3 screen is no different to the Nexus and most people would agree the One X runs rings around it in all areas except for black levels
Has a pretty equal camera, that's better in low light
The only main downside to the X is that the video recording is a bit stuttering, but aside from that it's pretty good.
Am I overlooking anything, I don't care about expandable storage. Why are people getting so 'heated' and upset over these things, it's almost as if you aren't allowed to prefer the One X.
For me main advantage of galaxy is its by far superior battery life.
This thread will probably get closed.
but just thell them;
A)They don't know what they're talking about.
B)It's not innovative, Pop up play, SVoice, all copied.
C)Ugly design
D)Ugly pentile matrix
E) less feature packed camera with Supposedly a worse camera from test shots (Will be seen)
F) It has touchwiz (Enough to turn me away)
And I'd your clutching at straws then G) It gas Nvidias tightly knitted support with game developers meaning optimised HD games for The One X, not for the S3
They're my reasons anyhow, I would have sold my One X if the S3 proved to me it was Better, but it didn't so saved me the hassle
by all means the difference is unfounded, though its true SGSIII is some what slightly better,
there are 3 differences worth mentioning, beside looks feels and fanboy preference,(HOX vs SGSIII)
1)Rom, im only mentioning this because whatever is found in one can and will be ported to the other
2)Battery 1800Ah vs 2100mAh
3)Nvidia vs Exynos
about the GPU im not sure how thing work with these,
but something tell me that Nvidia's game will be Nvidia GPU exclusive,
whether they can be patched it beyond me,
while i dont see Exynos Exclusive Games, correct me if im wrong.
so i hope this blows your friends comment about 'blows it out of the water'
---------------------------------
about better life i dont personally know how it compares
specially with T3 & its 4+1 core arrangement
Yes Samsung is better. I mean come on being # 1 and getting 9 million preorders on the s3 pretty much says it all. Plus exynos > tegra 3

Yeah mate, you should always give in to peer pressure. Whatever you do, don't stand by your own assessments. Seriously, what are you waiting for? Run!
I really hate touchwiz. Its just not as beautiful and functional. Sense always has very small nitty gritty details covered and I really see the effort in making the user experience awesome, save the bloat as compared to stock or other manufacturer skins. It all depends on what the user is looking for in the end anyway
As everyone knows S3 has better specs, but do they really matter to you? S3 may get higher benchmark scores, but in reality user experience will be pretty similar, perhaps with the exception of gaming. Unless you play lot of games you are not going to notice any difference. Both phones are going to be limited by the amount of RAM far before they are going to be bottle necked by processing power, so you are not really gaining much.
The only downside of One X (for me at least) is battery life and lack of a removable battery. I personally believe OneX's battery life will get better with new firmware releases and tweaks, but even with all the tweaks it may still fall behind S3. Again, how important is it ? For me a phone that can last 1 day or 1.5 days makes no difference because I only charge my phone at night. If it can last a day that is more than enough for me. But a day's use depends on the user and if One X cant last a day, then it could be a real deal breaker. For me this is the only rational reason for anyone already having a One X to upgrade to a S3.
Finally what about cost of upgrading? Right now there is a considerable value difference between the two (depending on your region it could be as high as $250). For me S3 is not worth that much more. Since you already have a One X the upgrade will cost you even more. Given everything IMO you are better off holding on to your One X (and money) for at least a year or so till something worthy comes along (i.e: 2GB, better cam/12MP??, better processor, better screen, Android 5)
I’m still contemplating on my next smartphone, but so far the price difference and S3's hideous design has pushed me towards One X. I don’t want to spend close to $800 on a phone that’s going to be outdated in a year or a year and a half at most.

For months I've been trying to upgrade. (At&t straight talk etc.) I was going to buy an old my touch 4g slide put it on straight talk but right now its hard to find. So the HTC one v is it worth it (cdma version) would I enjoy it more the I enjoyed my ov? Do you think more roms will be made? Tough decision seeing as I work at lil ceazers not making much lol. So big question is it a good phone?
My customized tapatalk signature
I know there's some awesome devs like jmz working in the CDMA side, but until htc releases the source it'll be slow going.
I came to the OneV from an optimus v, and i love this phone way more. Even if you look at just the hardware, it's a big step up (or at least it feels like it).
If you're planning on doing straight talk, that's GSM not CDMA. Only the virgin mobile OneV is CDMA.
Would you say its worth the upgrade then?

I was waiting for the price to go down, but I bit the bullet based on 3 things:
1. the screen! one look at the fonts and I was in love!
2. ICE CREAM SANDWICH!
3. The development! In a span of 3 months this community/devs have done a wonderful job in showcasing the future of this phone!
I don't want to come off as too negative about this phone, as it is very beautiful and I would probably buy it again. So just be aware that this post is mostly focusing on the negatives.
While single core 1ghz isn't the fastest around, it is fast enough for an android phone. In fact I noticed no significant speed difference to my 1,5ghz dualcore Sensation. And HTC even released a 600mhz phone this year, the desire C. In my experience the utility of more CPU power in android phones maxes out at around 1 ghz. More CPU power and screen real estate just means lower battery life. And the battery life on this thing is pretty much the best you're going to find in the ICS camp. With many of the big-and-fast alternatives, if you're actually using it you're not going to take that many steps away from the charger.
That being said, at the moment I'm slightly pissed off about some aspects of this phone. That's mostly because it feels like a repackaged 2010 phone. It is very pretty with the aluminum unibody and all, compared to this even new high end devices look cheap and plasticy. But you have to like the design, because it's not the most cost-effective hardware. There are a few year-old android phones around with the same hardware, that you can get used for like 100 bucks less, and most of them come with a full list of polished ICS custom roms. With the One V you pay extra for the design and for getting ICS out of the box. And that's not even of much use if you're capable of installing a custom rom.
I bit the bullet because I was running out of other options that fit my preferences. I wanted a three-button setup, and less than 4", and pretty much all alternatives in that camp seem to have some crippling flaw, like crappy battery life or nonexistent GPS capabilities or a really mirrory screen. So far I haven't noticed any flaws on the V, except for the inexplicable button and usb-plug placement, and that the front speaker is really quiet. But most importantly, since it's a new phone, and a non-high-end device, custom rom availability is only just starting to build up. For example there is still no way to get real status bar toggles, which my first smartphone from 2009 with Cyanogen 6 could do.
In the end it comes down to whether you like the design, or whether you care about raw specs more. I'm just not as interested in counting cpu cores, so it's fine for me. Don't get me wrong, it runs perfectly smooth. But it is just 400mhz up from a Legend.
If you like the nose and the aluminum unibody, and prefer a not-too-huge phone, then go for it. But if you are looking for the most price-effective hardware, then buy something used with the same capabilities. You just have to be aware that you pay extra for the fancy design here.
When I was buying I was between One V and Samsung Galaxy S advance...they were similary priced on my carrier.
I choose One V becouse of this comunity and development going on around ICS at the moment, and "S advance" is stuck on 2.3.6. without much hacks to choose.
I was wrong anyway. ICS look great but it lag on this phone like hell. Anyone buying should realy try it first. I mean my girlfriend's crappy LG optimus L3 is a ferrari compared to this. And it gets worse...HTC specification is a LIE. True specs are 2gb ROM/ 1gb user available, cca 365 mb RAM ?!?
Camera looks more like 3MP. with 5Mp mode you get only bigger sized pictures and vid's but cannot capture more detail...like upscaled 3mp camera.
ONE V specs look like leftovers from desire series with a new outer shell. If I've got 2nd chance to choose a phone I'd rather go for a used Desire series and wait for a price drop on good ICS phones simply becouse desire is snappier and One V is slooow.
Hope this helps

the HTC One V is a HORRIBLE PHONE! You will NOT be able to hear anyone you talk to, mine has been like this since new and all sound lvls are maxed...im forced to use the crappy loud speaker....i will never suggest a HTC phone to anyone since im locked into a 3 year with this crappy phone..
i guess it all comes from what phone you come from and your budget. i came from a huawei ascend (junk) i love this phone! My wife had a huawei ascend 2 (junk) and i got her on of these and she loves it. I am rooted and running a custom rom, she is rooted and running stock with no bloat. i am sure there are many phones out there that are better than this one, but for our carrier and budget, we can't beat it!

Been using and modding s1 and s2 for long...but i was Always an ericsson user before that, and im kinda in love with the new xperia display and everything else...

So what are your thoughts...should I go for the htc one x,x+ or S or the acro S?
or any other thoughts?

Definitely wait for the One X+. If you liked the Xperia display you'll like SLCD2 probably in my eyes the best screen so far this year. Sure blacks are not as deep as on AMOLED but everything else is top notch.
64gb on the One X+ ample space, very good camera for a phone probably behind the great of Nokia but still good.
It's a good phone and Jellybean does make it improve a lot more than it did when the HOX first came out.

im currently using a moto defy right now, and im planning an upgrade. im hesitating between the x and the x+. 32gb is quite wnoigh for me, especially when usb otg is working, so i wouldnt miss the 64gb version. my only concern is the battery, but i was thinking that i could underclock the one x to 1.2ghz (i dont need gaming performance, and a 1.2ghz tegra3 can still handle the ui without lags), so the battery wouldnt be a big problem either, right?
i mean, i can get the x for around 415 euros, and the x+ will launch for 595 euros... its not worth the money, is it?

One X+ has larger battery capacity, maybe due to it's increase in procie specification, but HTC said it has longer battery so it must be right

Me also, I was a bit disappointed when I had already had bought the phone, was reading and watching reviews comparing it to the S3 and the Samsung always winning, battery life being the biggest problem.
BUT I got the phone already with the 4.0.4 ICS and the Sense 4.1 upgrade. It makes it a totally different phone from what it was when it was first released. I think it's lightning fast and the battery lasts me more than a day, easily. There aren't many reviews comparing it to the S3 with this upgrade but the ones that exist show that they are very close matched nowadays.
I guess it depends on the kind of use you give your phone. I don't play games so I don't eat tones of battery life that way. 32GB of storage are more than enough for me as I don't use it to listen to music and I can upload photos and videos from the phone and then delete them, so I don't need the 64GB of the OneX+.
So, in my opinion, the extra money that the One X+ is going to cost is not something I would find worth it. Essentially I would be paying for a bigger battery when I feel mine is just fine, extra storage that I don't really need and the novelty factor that I don't care about. Coming to the One X from a Galaxy S, the extra money would make me consider the S3 that already has a huge battery (and the possibility of a back up) and virtually infinite storage space because you do get to use external SD cards. Honestly, now that I own the HOX, I don't regret one bit not having bought the S3. The HTC feels much better, the screen is amazing and the Sense software might be less intuitive than Samsung's but it's a lot more down to earth and direct.
Oh, and you'll probably be getting a few good deals on the HOX when the One X+ is released, as that is going to be the flagship and the latest thing.
i must egree with you, but reading the forums around here i see that quite many people have problems with the wifi adapter in the hox, and thats fixed in the hox+. i dont wanna end up bringing my phone back for repair every week or two, and i certainly dont want to disassemble it (at first ). how common are these wifi issues?

Get the One X if you use it moderatley, I mean, I use my phone all the time, and I NEVER go a day where the battery dies, its always still green when I get into bed and put it on charge. You said you don't need gaming graphics etc, so I guess you don't play much games.
THE ONE X WOULD DEFFO BE THE BEST FOR YOU, AND IT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY

I am also really stuck with this HOX vs HOX+ i mean is a extra £100 really worth it. I mean I dont think think I will ever use 64gb memory and I am hearing the HOX battery last more than a day.
What I want to know is the camera quality better on the HOX+ does anyone know.
Also has the 24fps video recording been improved to 29fps or is that under jelly bean.
I am not really thinking the HOX+ is worth the extra £100
I don't know how many phones have the wifi problem but I'm sure they are not many. I've read this before and it seems it's only a potential problem for models that were assembled in China.
Don't think this is a particular problem with HTC though, I was just looking at O2 forum yesterday regarding future ROM releases (unfortunately I'm stuck with a branded phone). They don't have a one device/one forum thing, it's an IPhone/Android forum. I've seen multiple threads about people complaining about problems with the S3 wifi.
In my case, the wifi signal is waaaaayyyy better than my previous Galaxy S. Camera also, it's an amazing piece of hardware. And I mean hardware because whatever might be a limit because of software, you can probably fix with an app or kernell or whatever. The HOX is powerful enough to record videos with 29fps... the S3 does it, so why not the HOX? It's probably one of the things that will be addressed on the Sense 4+ update that will come out with JB.
All in all, and for my kind of use, the HOX is wonderful. I wouldn't pay 100 quid more for the HOX+, even with the faster processor (I wasn't aware of that). I bought it from a friend that got one free from O2 and got a good(ish) deal on it. If not, and even now, I would be thinking about HOX vs S3. I would probably end up buying the S3 and I wouldn't even know what I've missed. No regrets at all. :good:
I didnt understand the last part of your post, are you planning on buying a s3 is that what your saying.
really my only problem with HOX is that wifi problem, but if its not that common after all, ill probably stick with it. if it has a good enough battery, and no wifi problems, than its perfect. ill probably underclock it anyway a bit, to squeeze a bit more juice out of the battery
and by the way, the HOX+ is not even released yet, and we already have a 100$ difference. i think we can expect a drop in HOXs price, so that gap may even get wider. so no, its not worth the extra money. thank you guys for helping me/us out, and see you soon on these forums!

Sorry, grammar mistake... I meant I would most likely have bought the S3 because of older reviews and less advertising from HTC. I didn't even knew about the HOX. Also because it would be a more logical upgrade... from an S to an S3. I've only looked into the HOX because that deal came up and I've saved 100 to 150 quid regarding the S3. I'm glad I did because the slightly better things on the S3 are not so important to me as the better things on the HOX (amazing display for example, like it a lot more than the led one on the S3).

Good lad! I think it's a wise choice and trust me, you won't need an underclocking. I don't know how bad it was when it was first released but the current 4.0.4 gets you a lot of battery. I had three hours to kill today and spent most of that time browsing the internet. Made a few calls, replied to a few emails and sms. The phone was charged last night and was always on, wifi always on and at this hour (almost 24h later) I have 59% of battery left. Might not be the best but it's amazingly good in my book!
For me the HOX is the better phone, I mean I will miss the blue LED notification light but anyway. The HOX I will be able to watch videos whislt im in a call, take pics or videos whilst im in a call. Wont have restricted messages, where after 480 characters it turns my texts into mms, i also prefer HTCs keyboard, also when sending texts to multiple people i wont be restricted to 10 people at a time which is annoying.
Others features that are important to me on the HOX are beats audio sounds better than the S3s music player both on stock player and power amp.
Low light pictures are better, the HOXs screen is better. Also I like the fact that you can take pics in videos that you are watching. Tomorrow I am ordering my white HOX from expansys fro £380 I dont feel the HOX+ is worth a extra £94.

But you do have a led notification with the HOX... it's not blue though, it's red or green depending on what it is notifying you for ...
The camera is VERY good on low light conditions! That's what you get with that huge lens sticking out of the back of the case... much more light coming in.
Oh, one thing I'm not pleased so far is how low the external loudspeaker is on stuff like youtube. I think it's not the hardware's fault, I'm pretty sure that videos on the internet browser play much louder. I don't get a volume tab on youtube app and I suspect that's the problem... the default volume is too low for this phone.

I've compared both just last weekend. The iphone 5 is much louder! Maybe there's a difference on the apps and we don't get a volume level thing on dorid's youtube? At least I can't find one and I can't remember how it was on previous versions...

More than happy!
I am thinking to buy another phone, (will keep my One X for sure) but after a lot of reading, there is nothing worth buying until new Tegra 4 comes out or when we see how new Galaxy 4 is performing after it comes out. At least for me.
Especially now I am happy for having One X because new kernel source is out before two days ago and there is lot of good developers working on optimize it and push the best out of our HOX. Also many quality custom roms, Sense and AOSP and excellent developers support and help.
I am having really good time playing with my One X.
Are you ahppy with your One X
Yes.
For me it is perfect. Works great, no bugs, looks good.
I like HTC Sense (this is my second HTC phone).
Only 2 drawbacks, depending on your usage habits:
If you are a heavy "power user" a phone with a replacable battery might be advantageous so you can switch out halfway through the day (this is not an issue for me)
If you are big into flashing Roms themeing etc a phone without the S-off issues of the One X

What issues does not having s-off cause for flashing roms and theming apart from flashing boot.img from a pc?

Power is a bit of a problem but for me its not that important as I am used to charge my device every night.
If only the losing carrier signal once or twice every couple of months bug didnt exist the HOX would be perfect.
Be as it may I pretty happy with the beast.
If I were you though I d go for the HOX+ or wait a couple of months for the M7
It's a disappointing performance from HTC one x considering the quad-core ,it should fly it doesn't
No its the last HTC for me after the Desire which was easy to flash roms, this requires too much time and effort.Appalling build quality mine went back 3 times in first 6 months.
i am happy with my one x without sense
I must be very happy because I haven't swapped it for something else. Normally I don't keep a phone more than 2 months let alone 10 months on the one x.
Although I've initially suffered because I couldn't get used to getting only 3-4 h of screen on-time with this beautiful device, I've now come to love it despite that. After all, the stand-by time can be pretty great and most other devices out there have similar average screen-on time (except Razr MAXX and Note 2).
I actually think Sense is the best looking OEM skin and the 4+ version is oh so fluid. Love the camera and the display of my One X too.

Not really , did you compare it to other phones , usually ppl compare it with s3 since it's rival to hox and both phones are great , it all comes to personal preference in there. If you're talking about gaming on HoX well that could be an issue for some games since devs are more confortable optimizing it for other devices then tegra. As for speed in system hox is pretty fast considering it has ONE OF THE HEAVIEST systems among them all, If you put CM rom on it you wont see any difference btw nexus 4 , s3 or any other phone, it's the sense that is lagging it sometimes. Anyway with new kernel source this should be fixed in no time.
The only real issue for me with hox would be battery life screen on time. I hit avarage 4:30- 5hrs , but hey s3 hits the similar screen on time, besides with 2100 mah battery in hox we can hit over 6hrs screen on time, it's just hard to get one of those.
Besides with ViperX rom theres none phone equal with customization , infact i have 2 friends who sold their s3 just so they use Viper Rom lol. Besides i think roms for hox are better then on s3 , i've seen s3 roms and theres nothing much changed compared to Stock rom. If you like flashing and custom roms then hox is great imo.
S-off isn't really an issue except when updating comes to the matter if you're branded , but for flashing i don't mind using pc to do it.
Anyway overall i'm happy with my hox. And i'll most likely keep it even when i get the new flagship this year simply cuz it's beautiful to look at it , talking about screen and design lol.
On a side note Sense 5 is rumored to be MUCH lighter OS then sense 4+ , and if you ask me 4+ is very snappy after jelly bean . maybe with android 5 our battery and snappiness improves. At least it should. And HoX should recieve sense 5 for sure , since OEMS are obligated to give to the users at least 2 major updates . we got 1 , JB , now is time for android 5 Key lime pie Anyway i hope i helped you with this post.
Edit - Since you're considering btw Hox and probably s3 since theres nothing else to chose from with this price range i'll put it simple for you.
If you want better battery go for S3
If you want design , beauty and BUILD quality go for hox.
But the best of all you should do this, go in the store and use both of these and then make up your mind. Before that you might wanna read few reviews about hox and S3 , just remember most of the reviews are based on ICS hox , after jelly bean hox is claimed to be faster then S3 in 90% of the comparable tests heres the link proving it. http://www.gsmarena.com/jelly_bean_update_for_htc_one_x_boosts_performance-news-5010.php
Once again the best thing to do is go in the store and review them both by yourself.
actually if you have thousands of cores, Android phone will still have a bit of lag/stutter. even iOS have it when memory almost full.
This is all dalvik related, and unless Google slowly migrating to other language, the lag/stutter will never be gone. it is all because of unstable frame rate. one time you play a game is smooth, next time it stutters.
So yeah, I am very much happy with my One X. The only reason for me to change phone is because of the design and dev support. Well probably not change, just add my collection. The day Google fix the stutter is the day even dual core is lag free that it doesnt matter what phone you have. because, you see, we have a quad core, but S2 still performs the quite the same. So whats the difference there? I have to admit Samsung made great processor that overshadow the lag, even though i still notice slight lag over time.
anyway, One X design still one of the best. and also, i still have my HTC Desire around to remind how grateful i am to actually have a fast and beautiful one x, because when i go back to Desire, man how slow it is back then but i found it fast before dual core is available.
AW: Are you happy with your One X?
I am happy only the problem whith the overheating i have
Gesendet von meinem HTC One X mit Tapatalk 2
I must say that I was a little disappointed when I first got my HOX. Stock ROM doesn't make justice to this device hardware. Right now I'm on AOKP IceColdJelly and can say, for sure, that I coudn't be more satisfied. Custom ROMs unleash the true performance of this phone.
Having had a forced switch to a Nexus 4 as a result of bricking my One X (it was all I could afford), I thought I'd give a few points of comparison. Firstly, I much prefer the 'feel' of the One X. They're both clearly very well made devices, but the material choices in the HOX allow it to both feel classy and be comfortable to hold with the lovely soft-touch back. The Nexus 4 is definitely not as comfortable to hold, and I have complete paranoia about having 2 big glass surfaces to break...
The camera on the One X blows the Nexus 4 out of the water. In fact, the camera on the One X is good enough that you probably wouldn't benefit from carrying a compact digicam around too, so long as you don't need zoom. Especially in low light (thanks to the lovely f/2.0 lens), I would say the camera on the One X is better than the latest Samsung handsets (which use the same sensor lol)... Although it does seem to have a slight tendency to overexpose and blow out highlights in bright daylight (easily corrected with around -1EV exposure compensation) and the default sharpening is a little aggressive - you might see some aliasing on diagonal contrast detail if you don't turn it down a wee bit.
Benchmark performance is obviously better on the N4, but given the margin, I'm surprised (and glad, since I have a Nexus 7 which would feel laggy otherwise) it's not really noticeable in day-to-day use - if anything, the fact that quite a few games are 'Tegra enhanced' makes the One X one of the best phones out there for a gamer, since stuff looks prettier...
Screen quality is very similar between the phones after using a different calibration on the Nexus 4. However, unlike the N4, the out of the box calibration on the One X is surprisingly good and I do miss the screen area 'stolen' by the soft keys on the N4. Both screens are a world apart from any phone I've tried in the past. They both have quite remarkable contrast (which blows my calibrated Dell IPS LCDs out of the water) although they obviously can't match the contrast of an AMOLED. On the other hand, they don't have wacky cartoonishly oversaturated colours like AMOLEDs.
I've been very positive about the HOX here, but I'm afraid to say I don't think I would take a HOX over several other phones if they were offered at similar prices, purely because the battery life wasn't good enough for me (although it may be for you.) Standby life is very good, but you'll be very lucky to get 4 hours screen-on time even with light usage, and even less if you don't like Sense and want to run AOSP/CM. Just browsing the web and watching YouTube, I got over 7 hours out of my N4 yesterday (It's my new baby, I've just been made redundant, have a lot of time to play with it ) That's a pretty significant difference!

u can say that im adoring my HOX in general, but the battery life worries me all the time (u get around 4 hrs on screen)
i was on ICS and now on JB (THE awesomeness) ..
Gr8 custom ROMs if u r interested (used 2 use Insertcoin but now im on ViperX 3.3.4 ... heck yea) alot of devs r working on this phone
we hope that the new kernel would fix some issues ..
Concerning its design, i think the HOX is truly a Masterpiece ..
It is indeed a Flagship phone ( battery )
I'd say, go 4 it
I am really happy with my One X. Hopefully it will keep me happy for quite some time.

This phone is great except for the abysmal battery life. I barely get 2 hours of screen time with it, let alone 3 or 4 hours. I use Spotify streaming regularly but this phone can barely last 4 to 5 hrs with that. One other minor problem is the poor sound quality and low volume compared to my previous iPhone 4S. I hope HTC fixes all these quibbles with the M7, or I might head for the iPhone 5s or SGS4.
I'm happy with my one x right now ...it's pretty usable for my daily use...

Hello, I am coming from LG optimus 2x zone. After i brick my o2x (Dropped) I decided to buy a new phone.
I was looking for phones that are worth to buy.
The LG Optimus 4x HD and the HTC One X
What do you think is it worth buying a One X today ? (Since i don't want to buy LG phone again! Support and firmware updates on LG SUCK)
2. Is there something i should know about One X before buying (Other than that it is awesome) ( I had an HTC HD2 it had a hardware problem with touchscreen i ask for something like this) I read about many bugs (Screen WiFi etc etc..) But i don't want to believe what other people say about this phone i want to hear what users says
EDIT: I am thinking to buy this phone! even if there are a few bugs with it
In my opinion this phone is much better than any phone on the market today (Value for money) . This phone isn't just impressive specs written on white piece of papper It does have style it does have soul. Everytime i come accross it on any shop just screams BUY ME BUY ME PLZZ
Yes you should know many things before buying.
1- some models of one x have wifi problem which is hardware issue also confirmed by htc.
2- battery will not lasts more than 3-4 hours(screen on time) no matter which rom you used.
3-Its camera is not in proper in shape in my opinion to keep it on rough surface. Camera lens got many scratches because of that.
4-front facing cam is not so good may be its mine but worse than my previous phone(galaxy s2).
If you can increase your budget buy a hox+ instead because i think as hox was the trial and hox+ was the finished product by htc. I jave not used hox+ so cant say much about that.
but still if you want to buy hox you will definetely not regret other than the battery life.
Because i think if you are putting money on this you must know all the negative points rather than all plus points which are many in hox no doubts.

HTC's Sense interface is so unusual that you have to love it or hate it.
HOX itself is a good phone. As I've understood the WiFi issue is on earlier models. (for example none of the 16gb version should have it).
Battery is a disgrace. Mine only last around 2,5-3 hours screen on time (with AOSP rom). I used to have a Samsung Galaxy Ace some time ago and that ****ty phone could last for more than twice of my HOX.
Some early models did also have some screen tint problem. I think it was the glue between lcd and digitizer. This should also not happen on later models.
As i've understood HOX+ is not that much better (slightly better battery but not much).
But if the options are 4x and HOX then it's a no brainer.. Get the HOX. A friend of mine has the 4x (also Tegra 3) and if I compare the smoothness of stock roms than it seems like HOX is in another league. 4x just lags at everything (did some random test and HTC was a clear winner).
Are there any other phones you like at that price range in your country? (Nexus5 costs around 450$ where i live... and HOX still costs around 400$)

All three phones are great but i I were to choose I'd got with the G.. It's got a better CPU, twice the RAM, Bigger battery and LTE...
I'd buy a nexus 4 too. Tegra 3 is less powerful than nexus's snapdragon, it gets hot quite easily and battery life is quite bad.
Moreover HOX probably already got it's last update.
I'm not saying that it is a bad smartphone, i personally love it, sense 5 is great, it has an amazing screen and i'm still happy of my choice, but when i see nexus's smoothness and it's updates i think that it would have been better to buy it, even if it isn't as good looking as my HOX.

hey guy i was in EXACTLY the same situation as u. I came from the Tmobile G2x which was promised ICS but LG/NVIDIA/Tmobile didnt deliver.
I have bought the international version, I like it but it does have the wifi problem. I think its a great phone but if ur a guy that likes flashing stuff or needs alot of battery life i wouldnt recommend it. also, it seems like the same kind of situation might happen as what happened with the G2x, cause of tegra 3(from what i have read) its going to be hard to get 4.4 unless we get the official version first. Thus, i would stay clear. I think this kind of situation is negated from the new HTC one but in the s3/HOX/LGOG/N4 generation, the N4/S3 is definately the way to go.
hope this helps, I want peopel to learn from my mistakes
I need the latest software cause thats the geek i am but if ur content with what u have i think this is a great phone.

Ok to be honest i do flash stuff... but the point is if i pay for n4 then i would go for the optimus G if i pay and that i will add little more and i will buy n5
And the difference between the n5 and the G2 isn't that big either... wtf confusing situation i said and i will buy the hox. Here with the help of users and researches on the internet i have seen it's weak points so i won't be buying one with defect (i hope)

lg optimus g is limited in dev. I say if ur limited in budget find a nice used n4. if ur not get an n5. the differences is the LG counterpart usually are limited in dev. Also, I should say, i didnt have the wifi problem for a while until i first dropped it and from then on i got it.
The HOX is a great phone, if i give it to my family they would love it.... idk if its for the techie now tho.
the newer phones HTC ONE/S4/N5 are better in getting updates i think but then they are more expensive

if it wasnt for this stupid wifi problem (Which there is a workaround but it requires opening up the phone. i havent gotten around to it yet) this is a great phone esp the price it is sold at. The one weakness i would say is battery. But again, if ur statisfied with maybe not getting 4.4+ then yeah definately get it
