Is it not compatible with sgs3? Probably it froze at the sgs3 screen after installing drivers...would not go to boot animation....dirty reflash fixed...
Have never gotten to experience it work on any device yet.
ROM: cm10 10/11
Kernel : kt747 10/9

Nope not on jellybean. Had it running perfectly on ICS even though it was never ported either. But not all I get after trying to install multiple time(mobile Odin pro, cwm) it just goes into bootloop

I've also been hoping to hear some kind of news of an update for this app also. Where does the chainfire team or dev reside? How can we get a hold of him? I like my current roms, the final thing to make our jb roms perfect would be the chainfire3d app to get more compatibility across the board.

AOKP has become my new favorite custom ROM to flash. i have it on my Nexus 7, and when i used to own the ASUS TF101 and Galaxy Nexus, both had it as well.
i'm looking into flashing AOKP to my Galaxy S3 now, but i'm a little confused what's the difference between these:
[ROM] AOKP(Jellybean)Task & Ktoonsez (10/5) (AT&T/Rogers)
[KERNEL][AT&T][AOSP/Touchwiz][JELLYBEAN & ICS][10/3/2012] KT747 - LG8 - KTweaker (i thought custom ROMs already come with a custom kernal?)
How to flash AOKP custom ROM on the AT&T Galaxy S3 SGH-I747
[ROM][JB] Unofficial AOKP D2ATT (obviously unofficial, but is there a difference?)
and AOKP JB Build 4
in the past, i've just looked for my device on the official AOKP website, but the d2att device isn't available on any of the 4 JB builds.
so yea, any advice on which one is the most current and stable version i should use? or should i wait for it to possibly be added to build 5?
and an unrelated question... is it possible to change the default location/folder when performing a nandroid backup? i would like it to get saved to my micro SD card instead.
I've been using task and ktoonzes aokp since, well since it was ICS lol. I can't really compare it to any other ROM as I haven't seen a need to flash anything else. Ktoonzes kernel adds more functionality over the "stock" kernel that comes with it including over clock and under volt not to mention his own app to control the kernel settings and a widget to keep an eye on it.
thank you for the information.
i just noticed that the [ROM][JB] Unofficial AOKP D2ATT thread has some thanks to task and Ktoonsez for contributions.
and the Android Authority article links to a Ktoonsez download link.
i guess i should just go to the source of all these and flash the [ROM] AOKP(Jellybean)Task & Ktoonsez (10/5) (AT&T/Rogers) one?
All you need is tasks rom
No brainer

You don't want this one. http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34159-romjb-unofficial-aokp-d2att/ . Its some guy that has no clue what he's doing.
This is the most updated and it gets kept updated.

Nova Launcher if that matters.
TWRP
Currently running stock Codename Kernal.
Once I flash the latest Ktoonz Kernal (JB, AOSP) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776&highlight=black+screen and I've cleared cache, dlvk cache, and fixed permissions I get stuck on a black screen. I've searched the kernal's original thread and found people giving a solution of "clear caches" Well I've been there done that.
I've let the black screen stand for about 15min hoping it was just loading the new kernal slowly, but its stuck for sure.
I've tried clearing cache's before and after the flash with no success.

Your ROM could be using a base that is before 10/14 making the newest KT incompatible try flashing aosp jb kernel before 10/14 after doing Full Wipe. If not working still your ROM maybe incompatible all together.

Crap I'll pm him a link to mine. I thought he had one already or I would have passed it along a while ago.
Yep make sure the version of the kernel is compatible with your rom.
I flashed a PA rom and the kernel agrees with that so thanks for the input. It wasn't compatible after all.

Glad to see you figured it out. Some phones will not accept KT kernel whatsoever as reported in his thread. So consider ourselves the lucky few able to flash it

Just a quick question because im not familiar with terms used.
i installed Official AOKP JB M1 on my ATT S3
will this kernel work with it or brick my phone?
AOSP JELLYBEAN: Download CWM flashable zip kernel
i dont know when to use the touchwiz jb or aosp jb version please help
Not to sure about the question here. Is that the ROM you flashed? Or the kernel? You always have the potential of bricking your phone flashing anything to it. I know this from experience!! Make a nandroid backup through recovery an flash what you want. I am currently using AOKP by task650 and ktoonsez, accompanied by the KT747 kernel. Cant go wrong with that setup!!! Hope this helped.
Same as above, don't really know what you're asking. If you are wanting to install the KT747 Kernel (by the sounds of it), then you would need to install the AOSP version after installing the rom (flash in recovery). Sorry I can't help you much, didn't really understand the question.
I highly suggest you do a little research before flashing anything else to your device. If you don't know what something is or does, don't flash it until you do. You dont need it. Unless you would like to brick your device.

Just for your information aokp(android open kang project) uses the same kernel as aosp(android open source project). If you are unsure about flashing kernels then by all means don't flash it until you do a little research about it, usually when installing a new kernel you should...
1install ROM from clean wipe(wipe caches,system)
2install kernel
3wipe caches, davlik cache, and fix permissions after you install kernel.
You should be fine after following these instructions.
Now if you plan on tweaker your systems performance via ktweaker read this before as it explains undervolting and the effects it has on your phone.

If after reading this you think you understand a little bit more. Reply if you would like some stable settings for ktweaker.

i went from ktoonsez ROM to liquidsmooth ROM today and now i want to go back to ktoonsez. While I was on liquidsmooth I installed the most recent ktoonsez kernel...when I restore my ktoonsez ROM do I also have to reflash my ktoonsez kernel, or will it stay from the liquid smooth flash?
does the situation change depending on whether i factory reset or not?

When you switch ROMs, it is always advised to do a clean wipe. I believe that will clear your kernel as well, so you should reflash it. This is the best way to ensure smooth performance with minimal complications.

Most ROMs come with a kernel, flashing another kernel on top of it is not advised unless you want a certain kernel.

When flashing ROM's it will always be replaced. Each ROM has a boot.img, and that is where the kernel is stored (to my brief dev'ing knowledge). So reflash the proper kernel version appropriate for liquidsmooth and you'll be good to go. You should also back up your kernel tweaks via KTweaker so that you can just do a quick restore if you've done a lot of undervolting like a lot of us. Makes flashing ROM's a breeze.

I do back them up and this is the answer I was looking for thanks Shaddy-z
Appreciate anyones help beforehand.
I have a T889 rooted and now with Vanilla Rootbox. Everything is working fine.
Coming from Jedi-X I was able to flash the Perseus Kernel with no issue. I liked the fact it supported the exfat 64gb card which is the ultimate goal of this post.
After installing Vanilla Rootbox I went back to recovery and tried the perseus kernel and it started up and went to a black screen after the Samsung Galaxy Screen. Searching through the forums I have not gathered that the kernel and rom are incompatible. I took the perseus kernel from the tmobile development listing.
Thanks again for any assistance.

they are incompatible..perseus is a TW kernel...vanilla rootbox is AOSP...without knowing any further information, the fact that it supports exfat tells you that its not for AOSP...thus far, no AOSP kernel supports exfat
try SOAP kernel...ive been using it ever since i switched to AOSP...used to use the perseus kernel when i was on TW
