[Q] UCALEM upgrade question - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I rooted my GS3 right after it came out, and quickly froze all AT&T apps including the OTA updater, so I had no idea I am currently a few versions behind.
My question is what path do I need to take? Do I need to first flash an earlier update? Or can I jump straight to the newest?
And as for my device, I am rooted with the latest CWM Recovery, 0 still on the flash counter, and all the bloat still intact, just frozen in TB. Been searching and reading threads for a while, but no clue what exactly I need to do xD
Oh and here is a screenshot of my devices info.

If you just want stock rooted, you can grab LG1 from here.

Not sure about any other updates. You could probably un freeze all the bloat and get ota root keeper and try to update.

You can jump right to LH9 (latest OTA) using this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31802808
Just download all the files in the PIECES section, install them all in recovery before you reboot and make sure you flash the kernel after the ROM.

I still have all the stock apps in place, just frozen, so can't I just use the main file instead of the individual pieces? Yes I am just that lazy xD

The main zip is a patch and requires you have LG1 installed first. You could apply the LG1 OTA (I have another thread in general with a zip for it) but that seems harder to me.

Should i fix?

Currently, im running FD18 from way back when. Im on this because when i go into odin to try and go back to EL29, odin sends a message that is in like a chinese style language. When i click ok, the program auto closes.
Ive tried on multiple computers. Am i stuck or is there a way to at least get back to EL29 or to get the latest OTA?

Not enough info. What kernel you on? Safe recovery? Try flashing rom from recovery or updating kernel then flashing.
FD24 kernel.

You have an out dated, over seas version of Odin. Go to the dev section and in the sticky threads there are two posts .by sfhub. Find the version you are looking for in the Odin one click thread. Then go to the autoe4gt thread and download the auto root tool to obtain cwm. Read the entire OP in both threads. If you have any questions, pm me.

You need to extract Odin and Odin.ini from the zip first. It's looking for the ini file that it can't find, which is why you're getting the popup that you're getting.

Try flashing that through the el26 cwm.
:Edit: I Don't know if you need it but there is this to help you find it. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416056
That seems to have worked...thank you sir
And am I safe to stay with this recovery? Like if I decide to restore my backup of the rooted stock ROM?
Sorry for the noob questions...but things seemed a lot easier on my NS4G...

You're welcome. Glad to help.
And restoring a nandroid backup? Yes, should be good to go. There are other safe kernels/recovies as well. Its just el26 cwm is the default safe one with the different builds that are out there.
Check this tutorial out by VeNuM on nandroids. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716511
Also, check out the stickies in the general and q&a section. Lots of good info.
Glad ya got it worked out

So after installing Sbrissen's AOSP Jellybean ROM, I'm now on CWM 6.0.1.2....can I safely flash back to a rooted stock FH13 ROM?
After reading the thread below, i advise you NOT to flash from that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31239404
My advice would be to use Odin to flash the el26 cwm from this point.
When in doubt, always go back to el26.

I had the same problem, chances are you or an app had changed the build description in the build.prop file.
If you installed something like the Google wallet installer it may have done that. If that is the case, install it again and click restore build.prop.

Well I had google wallet installed through the Google wallet installer app, so I restored the build.prop...phone booted up and just stayed at a black screen. So that apparently didn't work lol.
The good: I can boot into recovery
The bad: didn't follow the #1 rule of backing up the current ROM... Looks like I'm reflashing and setting up the ROM again. (I'm bored right now any ways)

That's odd, I've never had that issue with the wallet installer, used it yesterday in fact. Did you make sure you checked the correct options (JB TW / ICS TW / CM and carrier)?

Yeah, I made sure checked the right settings. I'll just flash the recovery with Odin.

In order for google wallet to setup properly it checks for supported devices. The only official one is the nexus. So the installer changes the build.prop to the nexus. There is either sn option in the installer to change it back or it makes a backup in the system folder and u can do it manually.

If you brick your phone its not my problem.
Almost everything is broken. Do not ask for a fix. I did not mod or make this. This is just to get use to it.
Please give me some thanks
And seed.

Is this any better than it was on the Nexus 7 when it first came out? I haven't used it in a while, and most things were still unaccessible.

Pretty sure you flashed the wrong thing if you got it from here, this is the Sprint forum, and judging by your signature you have the TMo variant... and now you're probably screwed because you can't downgrade your firmware. Read read read, and don't flash stuff that's not for your phone.

No because he flashed the 4.4 Bootloader and they don't have 4.4 yet, so flashing the 4.3 firmware will brick it... He should be able to Odin a recovery and wipe everything and flash a new ROM.
