Aw, its super glossy
I hope this isn't the next Nexus.

I think I'm going to pass on this nexus just as I did with the nexus s. The Gnex is an awesome device and there is nothing intriguing enough for me to switch.
I'm still hoping HTC does a nexus. I'll jump on that one.

I like that alot! Do want

Dislike. This will not be the device to bring me back!

I remain unconvinced. It's like nobody learned to be skeptical after that whole "Hoaxer" business.
No geotagging info in the pics to see where it's being tested at.

Well I've seen crazier things remember the guy who bought a nexus S with ICS

If this is the next Nexus I will probably jump to the Note 2.
Never been a fan of LG phones.

I will reserve my judgement for when it gets released but those pictures arent doing it for me at the moment.

Just FYI, if this is a legit device, it's likely housed in a "dummy box". Final retail device will likely look different. Remember the dummy boxes from the SIII leaks?

Whatever it is, it is definitely in a "dummy box." Just look at the pics of the back.

That's not a Nexus phone. That looks more like an in-house developer phone.

A build listed as MR1 (maintenance release 1) and a new kernel with Korean timestamp = LG specific JB build. This isn't AOSP folks, which tells me it won't bear the Nexus name.

Bottom bezel is way to thick and nav bar is grey looking keeping Gnex is looking very desirable for now hopefully but overall it looks nice the back cover is the best I've seen on an android device creative and different

I think (and hope and pray) that the nav buttons only look gray because it is an LCD display.

sources seem to be all over the place, but from what i've seen it's basically SAMOLED+. whatever it is, it's an improvement over the pentile arrangement in the Nexus/SGSIII.

Hello, my name is the7thson and I have a problem...

Just figured I'd share my addiction story amongst my fellow Android kin who would understand. I'm addicted to the Nexus line. I literally own everything ever made that says Nexus on it (other than the Q, but they pulled that pretty quickly).
I always think I'm going to sell a device and move on to the next one, but for some reason I keep hoarding them and never getting rid of them.. I have no idea why. Attached are some pictures.
And yes, I have 2 GNexii, one is for every day stable use and the other one is for discovering new features before they're ready for prime time
Today I bought a Nexus 4, but somehow convinced myself that I don't need Nexus 10 since I'm so happy with my Nexus 7. Whew, dodged that bullet!
I realize this is off-topic and not exactly productive in any way, but I figured who else would understand if not this bunch.
EDIT: I'm sure you all already know this, but just in case: Clockwise from top left - Nexus One, Nexus 7, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Nexus. All carrier unlocked.
At least its not drugs.

If thats true, that sucks for the people who just bought it. I dont think google is that cruel.
Could be a new device category. Android chrome book? Project glass? Improved Nexus Q? They've established a nexus line with the 4,7, and 10 so the only logical thing to do is expand on it.
I'd like to see Google expand the Nexus range by releasing some sort of budget smaller-screen Nexus phone that can go on sales in the Play Store (was hoping the Galaxy Nexus would continue to be sold on the Play Store as a budget device but they ended up just completely removing it). Probably not a good idea to launch a new Android version on a budget phone though lol.

Yes, that's exactly what I was implying in my previous post that Google should have sold the GN alongside the N4 with a reduced price as a budget option, but they decided to discontinue it.
If they managed to get a top end device made for ridiculously cheap why not a mid level one for even cheaper. Everyone benefits (probably except phone manufacturers and retailers who are still trying to sell unlocked phones at ridiculously inflated prices).

I have a Nexus S 4G and from what I've experienced from a friends Gnex and read online about the Gnex, can REALLY say it's a mid-level phone? It might be on the lower end of high-end... But IMHO its still not a mid-level phone... Its better for everyone that they don't sell the Gnex cheaper because that would drop the resale value and essentially saturate the market with a "cheap" phone... Not saying the phone is cheaply made, but people think a phone is cheap if its not +300...

Maybe mid-level isn't the right word, but it's definitely not one of the current high-end phones. Anyway Apple, for example, has always been selling their previous models with reduced prices as a budget offering so it's not a strange concept. Anyway, saturating the market with good but cheap(er) phones isn't exactly a bad idea. If anything it encourages more manufacturers to make better, cheaper phones to stay competitive, which is good for consumers.

[Q] Why to buy a Nexus Phone?

I bought my galaxy nexus a year ago, and I used the stock rom for a long time.
I always tought it was a good idea to be the firt to get google updates....
Since 2013 I started to flash custom roms on my device (i tried a lot of them), and I liked much more than the stock rom.
Whats the point of having a nexus phone, if im already using custom roms?
I wont get update by google anyway.
I want to buy a new phone, and prefer samsung quality over LG, so I was thinking to buy a galaxy S3 (here in Brazil is cheaper too).
there is any reason not to buy GS3 over N4? (using custom rom)
a friend of mine told me that custom roms run much better on nexus devices because they are open source and have less bugs.
is it true?
Nexus phones are made to be easily unlocked with with a simple command.

plus, with those custom roms, since you have a nexus it will be the first or among the first to get the newest updates to android or hell at least the most stable before any of the OEM versions or the ports that follow or lead up to them. Basically, nexus=first dibs to new stuff (from google anyway, as long as the device supports it)

This. Have you ever unlocked a Motorola device? It is nerve wrecking. Look it up on YouTube. You almost have to do a ritual dance with incense to do it correctly without bricking your device.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
Something else to consider is updates to the proprietary files and other fun stuff that isn't open sourced. Nexus devices have these things update pretty regularly, and with the new OS build. Others...well of course they lag a bit behind the Nexus line, and as such may not see an update for a month or more in most cases.
S3 becuz u can just port some s4 stuff over to it. Which is the newest stuff.

i prefer my GNex over and Galaxy S3S/4 any day. i work on Galaxy S's almost every day and while unlocking/rooting/flashing them is literally a < 5 minute process they just feel too large and clunky to play with. big screen is ok, hardware is good, but my GNex just feels more responsive and clean and having support for all of the latest Android updates first in line is a bonus. Nexus 4 is ok too but it reminds me of holding an iPhone too much and i don't like the feel of the device. just an opinion
