Please have a moderator move this to Q&A, also, is your phone in USB debugging mode? Flash your new rom and activate that, then try rooting it again.

hi guys.. need a help. How do I install CWM on my Xperia S ??? :crying::crying:
Do you have an unlocked bootloader?
Do you have PC drivers installed for Fastboot, Flashmode, ADB and all other modes?
Did you use the search bar like you were told?
Did you or did you not know nobody can help you if you just ask 'where are my cookies' on the internet?
Please answer the above and we shall proceed

Hey, I have an HTC One V(CDMA) runing on stock rom and I want to install a custom rom and overclock my phone. I am not very knowledgeable on rooting Android devices so I am asking for some assistance. My phone has its bootloader relocked. I want to know how to unlock my bootloader again, root my phone, install a custom rom and overclocking my phone. Please be specific on your instructions and thank you for helping me out. My goal is to make my phone as fast as it can be and to be on par with current smartphones.

This may seem like an obvious idea, but are you making sure your actual phone is in fastboot mode? (Step 10 under unlocking your bootloader in the tutorial linked above.) Usually when I get this it's because I forgot to do that, assuming everything is connected.
Do you have windows 8?

Dear wonderful community.
Yesterday my htc one was lost..sad. So i went and purchased a brand new t-mobile samsung galaxy s4 (m919).
I went home and wished to root it. Simple process. Just one big problem. My pc did not want to recognize my phone.
Ok. So i figured let me go to the website and download latest drivers. Nope! Didnt work. Ok, let me try the kies method. Nope! Didnt work either. There is literally nothing that is going in my favor at the moment. I tried my friends galaxy s2, hey what do you know, easily recognized. Tried my s4 again. Nope! Absolutely refuses to be recognized. So here we are at work. Tried on my work pc. Guess what? Nope again!
Somebody please please please help me!
And again im sorry if this is a repost topic, if so please just point me in the right direction! Thank you ahead of time!

That should run Odin okay...
Are you using Odin to try and root it? That's the easy way to go.
I used XP and didn't need to install any drivers.

Try it and see. I bet it will work.
My guess is that you are using an older version of abd, which does not support android 4.2.2, which is why your s2 works fine.

Have you turned on the developer options? Have to do that before it will be recognized.
Try uninstalling the drivers with your phone unplugged, reboot, reinstall drivers, reboot again, then plug your phone in again.

So i have gone into the about section and tapped the build number many times, had the message saying im a developer etc
There is no menu, or at least i cant see one, I assume it should appear in the general tab under the heading system?
If i press build number again it just tells me No need, developer mode has been enabled.
I have rebooted the tablet
Any suggestions?
Android version 4.4.2
Baseband T705XXU1ANF7
kERNAL 3.4.39-2293707
Build number KOT49H.T705XXU1ANG2

I am the only user on the device it shows as owner.
I have no idea then. What country is this tablet from? I dont even think a factory reset will do it.
UK, it's a 4G+wifi model. Got me pickled to, did a factory reset and nothing.

Hey mate. It worked without usb debugging.
I always thought usb debugging was needed as every guide mentions it.

Thanks for quick response, Where did you find a guide to root. Cheers..
Just put root and Odin into a search term. Something should come up.
USB debugging is only needed in the operating system. It has zero effect and not needed in recovery or Odin mode.

Were you able to root you device
htc desire 820q dualsim
No this method not work, i tried 3 times.
No rooting guide yet
One on my friend's tried every possible method to root 820q and it always failed. So it would be better to wait until lollipop is released.
Has anyone found a way to root this device???
