Norton mobile does it slow phone down ? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am scoring high in my bench Mark programs but my phone occasionally lags I'm wondering if this is due to having Norton mobile security in my phone
Before I delete the app has anyone idea if it does allow the phone down
I know Norton on pc makes windows slow so I wonder if the same happens on jelly bean ?
Thanks

obviously it will always slow down your phone a little.
any software running constantly in the background will slow down a phone or computer, especially security scanners.

I have the most bizarre issue with Facebook.. please help

A few days ago my Facebook app was loading pages super slowly, taking a minute or more to even load them. This isn't unusual, as the Facebook app sucks. I normally just switch to the mobile site and carry on. The thing is, the mobile site is loading super slowly too, and not just that, if I use Opera and force load the full site, even THAT is super slow. This is the only website that I'm having any problems with at all and it's happening regardless of my current connectivity state (wifi, 3g and 4G - its not discriminating.) I've searched the web and not seeing anyone else have this issue and it's continued on a trip I just took from KY to Chicago so I am absolutely stumped. Everything else, including all other websites are working perfectly. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong?
I have the same issues. I can't even post a status from the app. More than likely it has to do with the roll out of the timeline profile. Its slowing don't their servers

Still having the same issue. Not happening to my girlfriend on the mobile or my work partner on sprint. Any suggestions?
Was having thisenissues until last night. Everything is now working at a normal speed although notifications are still not working for me (since 182 update)
force stop the app then restart the app this normally works
It's just the app. I'm on my home Wi-Fi and it hasn't gotten any faster. Never expect good things from Facebook. Period.

Where's My Water? minus WiFi = fail

Just a heads up for WMW players on Nexus 7.
I've found out that the game in subject runs just fine but only as long as you're connected to the net.
If you loose the WiFi connection or turn it off, the game force-closes upon launch.
This is either a JB compatibility issue or Nexus 7 compatiblity issue because the same game works just fine on SGS III with airplane mode turned on.
I've raised the issue with the Disney support, so we just have to wait how fast they'll react with the correction

It's mostly likely not an issue not being able to connect to servers. They most likely try to check for wifi/3g connection (as opposed to internet connectivity), and if it doesn't have it, they mishandle that, causing an application crash. I haven't watched the logs for it though, so not sure.
Same here mate, Reported to Disney, hopefully they look in to this soon
darn, I was hoping this issue was solved by now.
Im using an acer a500 with ICS and I have this same problem. Any workaround?
both apps work fine without wifi here. and have since beginning of october at least.
Always worked fine for me with or without WiFi and with or without a 3G connection on my phone.

A lot of apps do a 1 time licence check on the first startup.

Wifi Network hogging by Note ll

I've been noticing that every time I connect my Note ll to my home wireless, it hogs up the download bandwidth. I mean, to the point where if I launch speed test app on any other device it will show download speeds of arund 200 kilobits per sec!!!
I Know it is my phone as I've turn off every single device one-by-one and run wifi speed tests every single time, and I'm pretty sure 100% that my phone is the culprit. As Soon as I turn off my phone, the activity LED on my modem ceases, and I can run speed tests on any other device (even simultaneously) and still get my normal download speeds.
Have any of you ever experienced this with this phone or any other mobile device? Is there an app that monitors how much data is been downloaded or uploaded by any app / process via wifi? I found wifi monitor On the play stone but that doesn't tell me anything.
Thanks

I think I found one of the first culprits - Dropbox. As soon as I clear and disabled it my bandwidth became stable.
Why is there two Dropbox apps in the Application Manager?

the problem is the built in dropbox service, not the one you can install from the market. its called cloudagent or cloudsync, and it caches all pics and vids from your dropbox account to the internal storage (to show it in gallery etc).
for me I had to disable this, it almost totally filled my internal storage...

Right now I have it disabled. I'm afraid it just cripples my network once more if I enable my Dropbox account.

com.sec.android.providers.downloads ?

I've got my self today a 32GB micro sdhc card from Sandisk, class 10. Since then. My battery went to 20% in 6-7h. After 2-3h Media was listed as 30% battery usage. I've search on my phone a bit and someone had on S3 problems and they suggested that the card had errors. So I've taken the card out and it has disappeared. I've used it on my pc, reformatted it and once again I have the same problem. Now com.sec.android.providers.downloads is around 22% of cpu usage. Does anyone have any idea why?
I've got 4.1.1 sofware on it and it's stock. I've rooted it few times with exynos abuse but then restored it.
I'm checking the cpu usage with Usage Timelines free app.
Update your rom first of all.
Download rescan media root and disable media scanner.

Note II lags while updating apps from Play Store

Hello Guys,
I have been having this problem from quite some time now (And frankly I don't remember since when).. Whenever my apps are getting updates from the Google Play Store, my mobile becomes painfully slow and lags majorly. It like as if you are using Jellybean on a device meant for Android Eclairs! My system is neither rooted not modified. I had the same problem even on 4.1.2 so it is not the firmware issue. My Note II has Kaspersky antivirus installed which checks every new and updated app. I thought it may be because of this so I uninstalled the app but still no effect Toggling Power Saving Mode On/Off does not make any difference either
I have no idea what is causing it and it is really troublesome.. I have A LOTT of apps and sometimes it updates almost 10 12 apps in a go which is really irritating with the lag!!
Have have chosen any option that is causing this?? Or any app??
Please help me with this
Cheers!
I have the same issue and I thought it started with update to Android 4.3, but it is probably due to update of Play Store application, now that you say you also had this problem on 4.1.2... Everything is smooth (ROM) except when I'm updating apps, it freezes so much I'm unable to do anything and I remember I used to run "update all" and then go back to Launcher and did other things while update run in the back... now it is slowing down the system... I wondered if it is a problem with XPrivacy module, but probably not...
Has anybody got any help on this?
