[Q] Problem with exchange email services on ice bean - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I've been using ice bean for a week or so and I've been unable to connect with my exchange sync server for emails. Does anyone has a solution to this??? I had the same problem previously and it was solved when i downloaded an official update...
Now that my phone is rooted, i wont be having anymore official updates...
My second question is whether there's any other software better and faster than ice bean??

[Q] Your phone is up to date?! :(

Hi! I looked every where but didn't find anything.
So I bought an Unlocked desire Z from Amazon a couple months ago and it was great and it was even running 2.3.3 after I updated it, but lack of support for the RTL languages was a pain So I decided to change the ROM to official ARA ROM which I got it from shipped-roms.com. But here is the problem now: after I installed the ROM I tried to update to 2.3.3 but every time that I check for an update I get a messages that says that my phone is up to date?! I checked with other people and they were able to update the same ROM to 2.3.3?!?
Is there any other way for me to update the ROM and keep the support of RTL?
Thanks,
When you unlock your phone you have to manually update from then on

[Q] OTA Update vs. S-OFF rooted

I have my wife's Wildfire S s-offed, rooted and uploaded the shipped european ROM.
Will be an OTA update available for this phone, or we won't get it because of the s-off?
I don't think there will be any OTA updates for Wildfire S, I am open to correction though....
HTC's customer service suggested me to check for updates in the settings menu. Of course I've already tried that without success.

Ko_Ka, and how would a possible update to Gingerbread 2.3.5 come to our phones if not OTA? I'm not expecting HTC to tell customers to use RUU's...
Also there is still the possibility that ICS will hit the WFS. For now HTC announced the 1st wave of phones getting the upgrade but like they say (and I quote) "We're continuing to assess our product portfolio, so stay tuned for more updates on device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Ice Cream Sandwich.". This came from HTC Facebook page.
The Wildfire S wasn't released that long ago and should be perfectly capable of running Ice Cream Sandwich...

[Q] ICS - Storage Encryption forced while setting up Exchange Active Sync

I recently flashed Primo-S - 1.0 - beta [HTC One V port] Android 4.0.3 [Sense 4.0 Lite] ROM and started facing an issue with MS Exchange Sync.
After setting everything up as usual it asked me to activate PIN security which i did with my usual pin. Now it is asking me to ENCRYPT my storage card which would delete all my data.
I have flashed various ROMs but have never come across this issue. I have tried various GB ROMs and a couple of Senseless ICS ROMs as well. This ROM is the first ICS ROM with Sense that i have tried and got this problem.
I have tried to check if there is any way to bypass this but haven't found anything at all. I would really appreciate if someone can tell me why this is happening and how i can get around this.
Thanks in advance!!!

Developing Help for Wifi fix for wildfire ICS Rom

Hi Dear Freinds
as you know google has some problems with Nexus S ICS 4.0.3 Rom update that in some countries when your device recognized that your sim card isn't in google availble sim cards automaticly disabled the wifi and it became deactive for ever, you had to wipe your phone and take off the sim card for ever if you wanted to use wifi.
since 5 months ago ICS has been released for Wildfire Buzz but it has exactly above problem so we can't use it because we need wifi either.
after searching for Nexus S problem i could find a fix patch for that, which i tried for nexus s and it worked but it didn't work for my wildfire
i attached it for you.i want someone for helping to make it suitable and useful for wildfire.
thank you my friends
Nexus s got an official update from google for ICS right, or is it just on cm9?
We didn't get an official update to gb let alone ics on wildfire and had to rely on cm team to get it, surely if the problem existed on cm9 they would have merged this patch somewhere along the line to fix it?
I haven't heard of the WiFi being totally broken on a wildfire running cm9, and presume that wiping the phone and reinstalling the rom and radio would fix it anyway.

VPN bypass vulnerability affects Android Jelly Bean and KitKat

Couple articles about it:
https://threatpost.com/android-vpn-bypass-vulnerability-affects-kitkat-as-well-as-jelly-bean/103918
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2092...id-jelly-bean-and-kitkat-researchers-say.html
Affects Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, and has been reproduced on Android 4.4 KitKat as well.
We have been been told to stop using VPN on android mobile devices until further notice at work. Apparently an OS patch from Samsung will be needed to rectify.
This is very interesting thanks!
