Hi! I looked every where but didn't find anything.
So I bought an Unlocked desire Z from Amazon a couple months ago and it was great and it was even running 2.3.3 after I updated it, but lack of support for the RTL languages was a pain So I decided to change the ROM to official ARA ROM which I got it from shipped-roms.com. But here is the problem now: after I installed the ROM I tried to update to 2.3.3 but every time that I check for an update I get a messages that says that my phone is up to date?! I checked with other people and they were able to update the same ROM to 2.3.3?!?
Is there any other way for me to update the ROM and keep the support of RTL?
Thanks,
When you unlock your phone you have to manually update from then on

Hey everyone, don't be too harsh my first post here. Did a search and couldn't find anything on it. Just logged on the the HTC site and apparently there is an update to 1.84.666.2 for the HTC Desire Z on Bell. My phone is currently on 1.34.666.5 and when I check for update the phone says there are no updates available.
Would gfree work with this new update? Should I be upgrading to it now or wait until development is done on it.
Can't post outside links since I am a new user, but it is on the HTC site / ca / support / desirezbell / downloads /
Thanks guys.
ROMs 1.72 and up and not yet rootable, which includes the 1.84. So I would stay away.

If you're rooted and want a newer ROM, try the Virtuous custom ROM. Its based on 1.85, plus some extra features.
if you used gfree, id go with cm7 nightly. its almost rc3 and its by far the best rom I've used and I've tried em all. stay away from stock roms if your gfree.

I have my wife's Wildfire S s-offed, rooted and uploaded the shipped european ROM.
Will be an OTA update available for this phone, or we won't get it because of the s-off?
I don't think there will be any OTA updates for Wildfire S, I am open to correction though....
HTC's customer service suggested me to check for updates in the settings menu. Of course I've already tried that without success.

Ko_Ka, and how would a possible update to Gingerbread 2.3.5 come to our phones if not OTA? I'm not expecting HTC to tell customers to use RUU's...
Also there is still the possibility that ICS will hit the WFS. For now HTC announced the 1st wave of phones getting the upgrade but like they say (and I quote) "We're continuing to assess our product portfolio, so stay tuned for more updates on device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Ice Cream Sandwich.". This came from HTC Facebook page.
The Wildfire S wasn't released that long ago and should be perfectly capable of running Ice Cream Sandwich...
Hi guys. Iv had my One X for about 2 weeks now and over the last few days I have been rooting it and looking a different Roms. Basically I am with T-Mobile and they still haven't released the 1.28 software. I am wondering if there is anyway to get the update myself rather than waiting on them? My phone is rooted can I'm currently running LeeDroid 4.0.0

I think you can update your firmware to 1.28.401.9 (Europe Firmware) here you would need to add your CID to the list. Have a look, read the instructions thoroughly before you start.
Can't be done, you HAVE to be running x.xx.401.x - you can't debrand without S-OFF
As the OP is running LeeDroid (which is based on 1.28) then you're better off sticking with that

at the moment mine is rooted. if i can install the OTA update.. please show me the guide to install it ...
thank u
Optus has asked HTC to withhold the OTA as there are unresolved issues, I wouldn't recommend flashing it at the moment.
Whats the issue?
I'm on 2.17.980 with no problems so far.
Phone is so responsive now.
Here it is anyway.

Edit. Just read that some ppl have had to reset default apn settings after update.
I didn't but.......
So worth it.

Hi.
I live in UAE and purchased my Note2 in UAE as well but i never got kitkat update. so I checked and realized that one time when i was in iran I received my jelly bean upgrade and i did it and my CSC showed TEH (iran). and kitkat was never released for iran (hence i never got the update).
So i downloaded official UAE kitkat Fiemwere from sammobile.com/ and loaded it on my phone using Odin (FYI I am not a pro at all, i was just following instructions and I never rooted my phone).
after the upgrade i noticed a significant decrease in performance, it got extremely laggy.
Im hoping someone here can help me fix it... will a hard reset do the job (since after upgrade nothing was deleted. all my apps and data was intact. the only thing which i had to uninstall and reinstall was purchased apps which stopped working after upgrade).
thank you in advance
Why dont you try custom roms.. You will get lots n lots of features.. And its pretty simple processes
