Well, I'm not sure to 100% but try with flashing / installing another battery icon can fix it perhaps.

the same charging indicator is present in the settings menu... plus if it's just a ui bug it would have disappeared with the factory reset

Oops, if I remember correctly, ICS on Arc / Arc S didn't show when your phone was fully charged, it just continued showing the flash/battery charging icon even if it was fully charged. This problem is fixed in a lot of stock ICS based custom ROMs..

it might be because of:
1. you have auto brightness on. autobrightness on gingerbread is not that great.
2. you're using Cyanogenmod7 and have that slide status bar to adjust brightness.

Nope, auto brightness is off. Not using CM7 also. I don't know why. I think it's because of the cable is loose, I'm not really sure.

I thought of that. Gonna get back to stock and send to Sony centre.
Sony centre said it was my software problem. Could it be kernel problem?

Sony tried telling someone else the same thing! They keep trying to blame it on software, even though the slider cable is a faulty design and should be recalled. Revert to absolute stock, and tell them after restoring it the problem persists and you know for a fact it's hardware.
It's really starting to piss me off that they're trying to blame a bad design on the users!

[Q] The annoying battery full notification

There are a lot of post about this subject, but i never found a solution for the galaxy gio... Is there someone who can help me disable the notification when the battery is full (sound and vibrate). It wakes me up to often!
go to settings then sound and then click on vibrate and then do this
But when im asleep, i have my phone on silent mode, so it wouldnt help...
turn it on never or what you mean with notification
I would like the phone to vibrate.... but not when the battery is full. So i would like everything to stay the same, i just don't want my phone waking me up to show me that its battery is full
Yeah, I agree. It's pretty annoying when I'm slepping! It's even worse because it is the same as a sms... I whish i could disable it.
i noticed on 2.3.6 itsca bit different.
the message, inlcuding sound and vibrate comes up when I unplug my phone.
pretty strange, didnt hadcit on older roms, but maybe itscjust bad calibration

I think mine didn't change with 2.3.6...
I had to modify some smali code to remove that notification in ArpegGioMod.
So its very much a pain in the you know what to do it.

doesnt make sound, but still vibrate wich can be annoying
One.more solution.is that in market chargers r available in which u can take out the battery and then can charge if u dont have any problem then buy no sound no vibration....it directly charges the battery..
Sent from my GT-S5300 using xda premium
I think people dont want to pay for samsung waking them up while sleeping. It shouldnt happen at all, and if you dont want it it should be able to disable it.
And thats not by buying a battery charger
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
Would the sound be located in /system/media/ at all? maybe you could delete the sound file.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
Doesnt remove the vibrate and will also delete the sound for different notifications
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
I'm not completely sure, but I think you could set up a (time) profile in Llama to disable vibrate and sound between a certain time.
I mostly use it for automatically disabling/enabling WiFi when I leave/get home.
But it has loads of other features that maybe helpfull.
It available here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kebab.Llama&hl=nl
As far as I know, it's a touchwiz thing, and the only way to remove it is to use a non-stock based rom [No TouchWiz or other Samsung assets etc]

Have you tried re-calibrating your battery?
Yeah dear I have tried but battery celebration apps required 100% charging for celebration.. but my device has always showing under 60% charging that's why its not works..

Is it in your status bar that it shows the incorrect value?
Try going to Settings > About Phone > Status
It should tell you the correct value there. If it still shows up as the incorrect value i believe it could be a problem with your actual battery.

In your case, you don't need an app for calibration. Since you can't get your phone to show correct status, reboot into Recovery, go to Advanced and Wipe Battery Stats. Reboot phone, Run Wifi, Bluetooth, Torch, Music and anything that could drain battery faster altogether until the battery runs down and switches itsef off. Try recharging and see the result.
Hope it helps.
Cheers.
Thank u so much to all of u..
I,ll do it and see the results..

This is strange... Changing the battery is not an option as it works well... Have you tried flashing another ROM?
If I may ask, did this battery issue started when you flashed CM7?

Its happened to quite a few people since I've been around this forum, dont think anyone has pinned down a particular reason for it happening and the only explanation from HTC is that its a mobo fault........
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
May be its a mobo fault but this is truth that I am facing this issue after flashing cm7.2..!
I have been told this rom working almost perfactly and such a nice and smoother one but before I was used Sunabh Rom v.1.1 by Vibhus which is also nice rom and had never facing issue like this on my previous rom..

Try revert to your previous ROM and see if your battery shows its true status.
Its not yet possible.. I have been delete nandroid backup of my previou rom

i have been experiencing the same problem with the battery .. doesn't seem to get past the 70% mark. I started noticing this few weeks into using CM7 ( currently using CM7.2 RC3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698029 the issue still remains) At first i found out that if i reboot my phone after putting it to charge , it would charge all the way to 100 %. But slowly that too started fading and now nothing i do gets it above 70%. even got a new battery to no avail, and i cant get more than 5 to 6 hrs with the battery .. the battery drain is incredible
am i using an incorrect kernel or something ?? any help is appreciated .. thanks in advance !
My opinion is its something to do with your phone itself, if it was software/kernel related we would all most likely get the same problem as we are all using the same piece of software.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I too have this problem mine does not charge beyond 79% sometimes 75%. With my experience this is too do with the kernel that CM7 uses. If I restart the device it will show 100%.
If I go back to the stock kernel the charging goes all the way to 100%.
Either my charger has broken or its the overclock-able kernel.
I have tried every other method out there.
The battery performance is good BTW.

Booting problem

My xperia play wont boot, It only flashes a red power light only when charging. Previously my battery ran dry now when I charge it only flashes a red light. I tried charging it but no difference. I tried another battery it still won't boot, I went to the extent of trying my battery in another xperia play and the battery works perfectly in it. I'm stumped plz help

You may have bricked it. Have you tried installing any rooms lately? Consider flashing back your stock firmware with "flash tool".
I have a stock device that has never been flashed or tampered with. Does anyone know what the flashing led mean?

Didnt u read.... I used another battery in it and it didnt boot, plus I tried my battery in another xperia play and it worked!!
If it's never even been rooted, then you should take it in for repair. Maybe a hardware issue.

Maybe if he researched but oh well, this what I have and sometimes it indicates a hardware component is damaged meaning find out what it is,
you should:
Go to your phone provider and ask them do NOT MENTION ABOUT ANY ROOTING OR BL UNLOCKING.
Find out what problem it has .
Or never use it again (Dont do it)
In my case the digitlizer "Screen" is broken, because back in march I used to boot my phone and the screen wouldnt sometimes work of course there could be another problem but...
Yea I realised I tried turned it on with the battery in the wrong way. I realised it didn't come on and when I fixed the battery right it still wouldn't come on. It just kept flashing the red light only when I tried to charge via USB or wall charger

I had the same problem with an Xperia Z. I tried all the tricks in the book but the problem persisted.
Ended up taking phone to the retailer. The problem was a faulty battery.
Either your phone's battery is dead, or the battery is not calibrated correctly
