This question is on par with "how do you turn the Phone on". Look in the most obvious place, settings, sound.
Wow, you must have finished college to be so smart!
I wouldnt ask the question if it let me change the sounds in the sound menu!
If you have something helping to say, say it, dont be a smartass!

lmao.. u mean the sound of the notification or the audio files of it?
Audio files, cause the ones they let you choose are crap... i liked the original ones from ICS, so i got them to my sdcard but i cant assign them as notification and alarm tones like yoh could on ICS...

This is great. Had to switch back though.. got so use to original one on this phone. That drop just goes with the gs3 for me. :/ anyone know where I can find some kind of digital or high tech sound? Like the type you see in movies when they touch their computer screen, all fancy and nice

i was wondering if there was any way where you dont have to choose a separate lockscreen wallpaper than homescreen one.
im currently on stock and would like to stay on it.. not a huge fan of go locker... i just wondered if there was any other way to get the same wallpaper for both without having to set it twice... slight OCD issue lol ( i swear there was a way around it on the galaxy s 2)
Use Quickpic
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Just set the wallpaper twice.
If it still keeps you up at night, a shrink will be more useful than a dev to fix the problem.
Oh forgot about that on stock
I thought there was an option in the lockscreen wallpaper to set it as homescreen one?
Sent from the cracked screen of my GALAXY Ace.
go to settings, then display, then wallpaper. select lockscreen and choose none. then your lockscreen paper will be the same as your desktop paper. when you change your desktop paper, lockscreen will match. hope this helps
No option to set same as homescreen one, maybe its because im on the i version :-/ mehh shall probably end up rooting it soon, never takes me too long before i do.. Cm7 possibly

I feel like a complete noob asking this, but on the stock s3, is there a way to link the notification and ring volumes? I haven't found the setting if it is possible. And if it's not.... wtf Samsung! I hope the lack of this feature gets your employees frowned upon when they are at work and their phones go off with a super loud notification tones during meetings so that you guys don't forget this simple program in the future >=[

Oh, I'm sorry for my mistake. For some reason I thought that you were talking about something else... I need to stop spending time on xda during nights.
On stock you can't link those together. Maybe there is some app which will do it for you.

Yea, this is very annoying. In most situations, I want my notifications and ringtone volumes to be linked, and there is no option for that.
Are there any apps that will link the Notification volume to the same level as the ringtone volume?
FINALLY
This app solves the problem! Credits to the developer, can't thank him enough bcos it was such a pain to find something that works for this simple problem...

Hey does any of you guys know how do I turn off the warning when I turn the volume up? It's getting quite annoying.. thanks in advance.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
The volume warring is a horrible feature, I'm trying to think of why it needs to popup every time. This must have been included for liability reasons.
My problem is that my headphones don't exactly sit close to ear with my helmet on, so they're too quite. Then I can't always grab my phone and close out the warning while I'm riding.
The only solution I've found for this problem is to install a different rom, I am using ReVolt right now. You can disable the warning in the sound settings.
I also would like to know. I want to disable the toast after setting an app as default as well. It's super annoying.

I have a thread with a tutorial explaining how to decompile and remove it, however, i have yet to encounter this "warning" on my device xD

Never mind just saw it now. Its a little Toast message. On other device its an entire pop up window. I am now going to find where its generated and kill it should be done in a little bit

This one's done. WOrking on the toast volume thing.
If you're rooted, you can try Xposed Framework. It's the best. Not only can you remove the warning, there is so much more to customize.

I don't think that will work. T-Mobile uses a toast instead of the normal window. So im not sure if that will work. Can give it a shot. I almost have it removed though.

Bleh, TouchJiz is affecting the volume steps mod. Go listen to music, and start the volume at low, and slowly increment the volume up to max one step at a time. It will get louder then go back to really quite, and then get louder again

If it's the same hardware then it should work. If it doesn't work it will just not boot. To fix that just flash your ROM or restore the original framework.jar file.

I'm no longer on stock, going from memory, but I remember that setting as it's one of the first things I turn off on every rom and version of android I've used.

Here's my situation:
When I plug it in my car, I want the volume to be set to full. I've aranged that with an NFC and it "works".
But, when I use headphone, I don't want it to be set to full, or half, or whatever. I want it to stay the way it was. that's why I want to know if there's a place I can disable this option.
I'm rooted already, there must be a settings of a file somewhere I can edit for this :|
Please people. Did someone managed to solve this one? It is really pain in the neck.
If anyone is still interested I found a way to disable this.
You have to edit the build.prop file its path is /system/build.prop
Find the line which says
Code:
ro.lge.automaticvolumecontrol=true
and change it to
Code:
ro.lge.automaticvolumecontrol=false
.
Then reboot your phone.
Although the sound will stop turning down you will still get the notification
