i was wondering if there was any way where you dont have to choose a separate lockscreen wallpaper than homescreen one.
im currently on stock and would like to stay on it.. not a huge fan of go locker... i just wondered if there was any other way to get the same wallpaper for both without having to set it twice... slight OCD issue lol ( i swear there was a way around it on the galaxy s 2)
Use Quickpic

Just set the wallpaper twice.
If it still keeps you up at night, a shrink will be more useful than a dev to fix the problem.
Oh forgot about that on stock
I thought there was an option in the lockscreen wallpaper to set it as homescreen one?
Sent from the cracked screen of my GALAXY Ace.
go to settings, then display, then wallpaper. select lockscreen and choose none. then your lockscreen paper will be the same as your desktop paper. when you change your desktop paper, lockscreen will match. hope this helps
No option to set same as homescreen one, maybe its because im on the i version :-/ mehh shall probably end up rooting it soon, never takes me too long before i do.. Cm7 possibly

there is NO setting to set the same pic for lockscreen and homescreen. all you need to do is select none for your lockscreen in the settings location I told you to go to. simple as that....
No thats what im saying i dont have the option to do.. It literally says wallpaper gallery or gallery.. Trust me if it said none then i would have clicked it straight away.. I just didnt know if there was another way around it but it sounds like not

ive searched a good bit so if its in the open i apologize. does anyone know if its possible to completly eliminate the stock lock screen or point me to some directions showing how? i know i could just use this that or the other lock screen app but i just really wanna know if its possible to delete that lock screen. thanks in advance, veritas
Try "no lock" in the market

thanks for your reply. i was trying to use the new golocker that the go dev team had released and i noticed nine times outta ten when i woke the phone id have to slide the stock lock out the way and then slide the golocker next. i tried the no lock app but i guess it works to good as it disabled both lock screens. it would b nice to have golocker only. but thanks for the advice.

If you have the lockmod then you can go into the lockscreen settings and set the style to "none".

Oh ok I thought u meant get rid of stock lock completely. For me I use widget locker and they have a root override that allows to bypass 10 second rule for apps.

what 10 second rule?
Its when u shut the screen and immediately wake it again there is a delay bc of android os limitations so widget locker has to wait like 3 seconds before showing.
I mixed up the 3 second android rule with the food fall on ground 10 second rule.

there are lock screen mods you can use on the android market or mods you can flash in cwm, and you can choose what ever lock screen style you want, i like the none option myself

Not understanding, did you follow what eao1991 said? Switching the style to "none" shows no lock screen at all.

I'm now thinking this person is only rooted without any custom rom installed.

Someone mentioned this app a while back. Basically a lame version of what is to come with ICS. This works by unlocking certain apps with your face, not as a lock screen. So a work around for that obviously is setting it up to lock a custom launcher such as Go or that ugly iphone one.
My question is is there any way to make the twlauncher an actual listed app? It'll only let you select the apps in your app drawer. And obviously touchwiz launcher isn't there haha

Is there a fix for this? Im on gb el29 and whenever i do the ics upgrade or jb the wallpaper can no longer go the long way except for the long way. Is there a mod or something that i can do because i like having the full picture instead of the cutoff pixel look to it...it just looks terrible. Thanks in advance.

Wallpaper wizadrii can set proper size. As well as others. Give that a try.

You're taking about landscape and wallpaper scrolling? That was removed a while ago because Apple claimed it was infringing a patent or some BS.

I know what your talking about but im talking if you have a long picture, you would be able to do it the veritcal way and it would show the full picture. Now on ics it is forced to do the box look and you would on be able to see half of it and its all blown up and everything. Not a huge issue just annoying haha

Switch to a different launcher. GO Launcher EX and Apex both support the vertical wallpaper option.
You can also use Image 2 Wallpaper app from the market. It's a little difficult to use imo just because of the UI but it does the job.
Hey I found his nice app for displaying missed called, email and text message notifications on the lock screen somewhat like the iphone. It's setup as a live wall paper to show notifications in the background, that way you don't need to change our your original lockscreen.

The app is pretty good but I notice the home screen lags just a bit with it enabled.

I had major lag with this. Might need a 4.2 update before it runs right. Great app tho.

Same here. Too much lag to use.
Trying to figure out how to make the widget show on the main screen (under the clock) like in your image. Can't see a setting that does it... anyone else figure that out?

That's a screenshot of WidgetLocker, not the stock lockscreen.
Why does Google do such weird things all the time? I know other people have to think the same thing about why they design an OS the way they do. For instance clicking the clock in the status bar takes u to time settings instead of clock or calendar(when we all have auto time enabled)? And I'm pretty sure(at least I hope) its a bug, but the stupid new camera rotation is beyond dumb. And why they took the so much fun camera effects out, I may never know... I do love Google but just question their Dev team sometimes... sometimes a lot
But that is why we have these wonderful devs across the forums. I can't thank you guys/gals enough!!!!

The slow camera rotation is intentional. The Android Dev team spoke about it. As for camera effects, I don't know how many people actually used them. Sure, Mac users seem to use them quite a bit, but I don't know about Android users.

Yea I meant alarms.. Lol. Or even clock app would be smart
Why on EARTH would u want camera lag when changing the phone orientation... Then u end up missing Ur shot!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
The rotation lag doesn't bug me too much. It usually takes a second or less to rotate. I usually know what orientation I want my picture to be, so I'll press the camera app in that orientation.

Just lock rotation when you want to use your camera, if you are using a rom with toggle rotation it wont be that hard to press a toggle.
I personally always disabled rotation, and only enabled it when i want to use it.

Another thing that bothers me is app drawer. the black background is still stuck in the Gingerbread era.
If I lock rotation to to a pic in landscape its going to take the picture in portrait but I guess u could just rotate it in the gallery... But still useless as fuhk. I'd rather deal with the lag of swiping to my pictures than the actual camera itself... Come one Google... You're better than this... Back to 4.1 camera I am

IMO the black background is nice to quickly identify icons. U know u can always use third party launchers to change that..
