I never paid attention to what kernel I had before I flashed Franco's kernel but I'm thinking about uninstalling it since it's been giving me a lot of bugs and I'm thinking about flashing Faux but I'm not sure if uninstalling the Franco Kernel Updater removes Franco Kernel. If it does, how do I flash Faux kernel?
I think faux kernel is the default kernel with Aokp build 3. You can reflash the rom or find the faux kernel thread, download kernel and flash.
faux kernel
Here is a link to his kernels, myself I always run the latest,no problems yet.

What rom do you have? Franco kernel is great with AOKP based roms. Give it a chance! (Also no bugs here caused from kernel)

Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM)
version - 4.0.3
Kernel - Franco M2
MOD - Apex 1.0.2
Hi,
Francisco have one kernel for the Gnex, the other kernel you can download is from another developer, this is a collaboration.
See Francisco's Google+:https://plus.google.com/106873500108976028532/posts
You can download one or other, flash one or other (one over the other).
Some tweaks will work or not in the app according to the different kernel possibilities.
Links for imoseyon's kernel:

It is not on XDA if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks for the info
Try them both and see what suits your needs. The cool part is the app is compatible with both as far as color control and other features.
Not sure if imoseyan is hotplug compatible, don't quote me on that.

Any one knows where to find a cwm zip version of the kernel for download?
What custom kernel is recommended to be used with this rom besides trinity? Does franco kernel work with this rom?
Thanks in advance
Which ROM are you gonna us it with (you forgot to mention it)?
CM9 RC1
You don't have to flash CM9 separately, it comes with the rom.
It is recommended to use stock CM9 kernel. Try it, and video you don't like it change to Franco or trinity or whatever you feel to
Gl. And happy flashing.
Swiftkey'ed on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
How can I get my stock kernel back? Or does flashing a ROM change the kernel? I don't really understand kernels yet in terms of compatibility, and such. I just don't want to brick my phone, so I'm making sure I do it right.
Roms usually involve a kernel already built in, check the OP description.
For example if you are on cm10 and flash the ktoonsez aosp kernel, then later flash a nightlie build, the kernel will be overwritten with the one built in cm10. You have to reflash the ktoonsez again afterwards if you want to use it.
So if you want stock kernel, flash a stock ROM with built in stock kernel.

Make sure the kernel you flash is sourced from the same source as your ROM, ie any TouchWiz LG8 ROM needs to have an LG8-sourced kernel - custom or stock.

On my At&T Galaxy S3 I have installed this kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226290
- I have installed this kernel on both CyanogenMod 10.1 M3 and AOKP MR1 Milestone 1 to see which ROM works for this kernel.
-I wiped cache and dalvik
-The kernel doesn't seem to work on both ROMS
-Is it normal for the screen to be black after the Samsung Galaxy SIII screen?
-If so how long do I have to wait for it boot up?
-I would also appreciate it if you send me links to kernels, or a list of kernels that work with either CyanogenMod 10.1 M3 or AOKP MR1 Milestone 1
-I would like it if the kernel could overclock my S3's CPU and GPU.
-I really appreciate any help, thanks!
use this with the aokp 4.2.2 milestone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1916103&d=1367068269
when you flash a kernel, it needs to be compatible with the rom version you are running. to avoid this soft brick down the road, grab a release of the kernel that is close in release date to your rom's release date. this will better pair the two. if your rom is running the packaged kernel, say version 3.4.41, then the custom kernel you want to flash should be 3.4.41 or earlier.

This kernel is Ktoonsez only kernel version that will work with AOKP M1. The newer ones are compiled from new sources that break the display. ie the black screen with sounds and buttons. Flash AOKP M1 then flash the kernel (wipe dalvik/cache and fix permissions right after the kernel installs) then flash GAPPS. This will give you what you want. Always flash in that order if dirty flashing. I am currently running AOKP nightlys and they are stable and give me no issue. also using the most current ktoonsez kernel. The kernel can be tuned with an app that is installed when you flash the kernel.
Does cm11 work with franco kernel?
Ask in the CM11 or Franco kernel threads?
