I just bought the Galaxy Note II (SHV-E250S) in Seoul, I couldn't resist it .
This Korean model comes with some extra memory, LTE & and a LARGE DMB antenna, soc and rest of the machine should be the same as the international version the N7100.
My ambition is to flash a custom N7100. I took the gamble and rooted the machine with CMM in this forum and as a follow-on tried to flash the N7100 stock rom via PC ODIN (Which failed, probably due to a model number check???).
Is there a brilliant mind here on the forum that can help me replace the Korean Stock ROM with an international version that makes sense .
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Ill upload some pics of this version of the note soon..

Same here!!
a good friend just got me the same model (SHV-E250S) from Korea. It has 32GB, which is not available on the international version where i am from. i really think the extra space is cool (always). also, i was very surprised to see it unlocked, and my local sim worked right away! (+1 Korea)
anyways, how did you root it? did you just use the normal CF-Root via ODIN? or something else?
and for those who want a backup, just tell me how, and i will do it for you...

Hi there, thanks a lot for willing to help, I did try CF-Root via Odin, but it was a previous version that broke my partition cache , no there is a new CF- Autoroot, here is a link: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/galaxy-note-2-feels-the-love-from-cf-root.
Normally this version should not cause this corruption, but i can`t guaranty or be responsible , if this method will not work or corrupts something. Normally it should do the job.
This method has been used by users with NOTE II devices, Korean as well.
Here is direct link to the post:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933542

Do you guys know if rooting it will enable the AWS/1700Mhz band?
Thanks

Mine is SKT as well.
Look, I`m not a pro here, even the other way around, you should search the forum and ask questions in the right topics, but read and search more. If no one answers your question, well f**k it, just move on. I searched a little, it seems that backing up before rooting may not help, but there are too many ways and soft to backup. Rooting does not seem to be dangerous if you have the right tools. Anyway, you should think, if you need rooting and what for!
Ow, and yes, i dont think that by rooting your device, will let you gain another banwidth! (AWS/1700Mhz )

Just some speculation without really knowing the details: Special versions (units with supported freqs other than orginal unit) for certain areas have different modems by hardware, not just by software.
Think of the iPhone 5. No version that supports the current 4G network in Sweden. If it only were a software limitation I doubt the guys at Apple are so dumb and lazy not to "fix it" to make the Swedish people happy. Suddenly many carries reveals some very convenient plans to support those freqs... Not a word of that before iPhone 5, and then, bam, almost "everyone" will start supporting new freqs! Strange...

Yeh man, don`t know the details, may be for some models samsung has same hardware but just blocks the freqs not needed for that region. what do you mean by this: Special versions (units with supported freqs other than original unit), Special version? all versions are special, each one is special for a certain region! (units with supported freqs other than original unit), original units, aren`t they all original? just made for different areas.

I welcome everybody to the thread about the upgraded ZP980.
ZP980 vs ZP980+
The + version is supposed to be the exact same hardware as the ZP980, only with double the internal memory and RAM.
Why a separate thread for this variation?
Many people have pointed out that this model is basically the same as the ZP980 except for the size of the RAM and the internal storage (2GB vs 1GB and 32GB vs 16GB respectively).
The discussion is still going on in the ZP980 thread. Until it is 100% confirmed that everything works exactly the same for both phones, I am planning to keep this thread. Except if XDA decides differently of course.
In any event, this thread was not created to compete with the ZP980 thread. Personally I follow that one too and participate in the discussion. This thread here only exists as a point of reference for confirmed methods, tricks, ROMs and recoveries for the ZP980+.
Can I try ROMs and other stuff I find in the thread for the standard ZP980?
I would say yes, with some caution.
In case you try something that works or -even more important- something that does not work, please be kind and share with us in this thread. This way you are helping the community take the most out this excellent piece of hardware and avoid mistakes.
Phone specs:
5" screen
FHD Super Retina Display 1920*1080 pixels, 441PPI, OGS
CPU MTK6589T - 1.5Ghz
2GB RAM
32GB internal storage
13-megapixel rear camera
Android 4.2 out of the box
2G: GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
3G: HSPA 850/2100 MHz
Battery:Li-Polymer, 2000mAh
Dimensions: 143.3 x 70 x 8.5mm
Weight: 150g
IF YOUR PHONE DOES NOT HAVE THESE EXACT SPECS, PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU READ IN THIS THREAD.
Confirmed Root Methods
1. Framaroot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276 (first reported by Jan1959)
Note: it is possible that after upgrading to the latest version Framaroot does not work any more.
2. Eroot has worked for some users.
Credits go to the people who developed all the stuff that I mention in this post and to the people who pointed them out to me to include them here.
I repeat:

My ZP980+ is waiting for me in Greece. I'll have it in a couple of weeks since I live in Switzerland.
But I couldn't wait to open this thread and prepare for what I need to do.
Has anybody already received it?
Did you manage to root it?
I managed rooting it via ERoot. I learnt that this is the only possibility to get rooted new zopo generation. Would be glad if there were another also working with linux. But as far as I know, there has not been any yet.
Dimitris, will you keep 1st post of this thread actual? It would be useful, if any custom ROM fully compatible with this model were linked in this opening thread as well as root tools and other useful tooling.

I am planning to keep the 1st post up to date IF nobody else offers to do it (I am sure XDA can change the poster of the OP if we ask them to, I have seen it done in other forums).
I only started this thread because I wanted to make a clear distinction and avoid bricking my device (selfish me) and also help others avoid bricking their devices.
I will add in the OP any useful piece of information that I see posted in the thread, starting with Framaroot (by Jan1959) and ERoot (by you) will follow if you explain a bit more (either describe what you did or provide a link as Jan1959 did ).

I seems to be logical that it works, because I do not know a root method which works on zp980h, but does not on c2 platinum. C2 platinum can be found in compatibility list. It is the 1st model of the higher zopo generation.

This referred to Dimitris' allusion, that zp980h is not part of the compatibility list. I mean that older root methods (i. e. motorola apk exploit and so on) do not work any more with newer zopo devices. 1st of these devices is c2 platinum. Up to now, I have known only eRoot which is able to root it and zp980h. If framaroot works with this, it should also work with zp980h.
going to follow this, ordered mine 21/08 on mixeshop for shipment to belgium.
Hope it's on his way because they say 5 to 7 days and the 5 day is today and status is still processing but i read that chinese shops don't put a lot of effort on status changes, maybe anyone experience with this shop?
I used eroot and manage to root with one click without problems. win7 have installed all the necessary drivers automatic.
Poslano sa mog ZP980 koristeći Tapatalk 4
I had problems with eroot and the drivers on Win7.
But the method from the OP (Framaroot) worked for me great.
Just copied the file, installed the app. After that just opened, selected SuperSU and Boromir exploit). After that reboot and I have now root (already eliminated this annoying bootsound)
Thanks for the tip!

Ok, then with new Upgrade for zp980h, it does NOT WORK any more. Old binaries are updated, but root access fails. Could you please verify that by upgrading and then trying to root again?

Hello Topicmates,
could you please provide me a step-by-step guide how to come back to factory state of the phone. I have a ZP980 2GB/32GB version.
I have rooted with framaroot, everything was ok. After that I have OTA updated with the latest update and now all the google apps are force closing. Therefore I want to revert back to Stock ROM and after it OTA update (an thereafter root again).
What do I need for that? Should I try at first simple factory reset?
hi all-
Can anyone tell me if there is a hardware difference in the radios of NA/EUR models of the LG G3 such as the D855/852/850? Is it possible to change radio band support by flashing a different radio or other mods? I recall that this was possible with the Nexus4, to enable LTE support when the stock phone had it disabled. Could you flash a different radio baseband package to enable AWS on a D850/852, or additional LTE bands on a D855? I have a Bell D852 that I'd like to be able to use effectively on Wind, or T-Mobile in the US but obviously it doesn't support all of their frequency bands.
[update 11-18-2014] I've changed the title to reflect that editing G3 radio bands appears to be possible, user JustLiveIt has done so with a D855, but we do not have full details yet. Much more testing with different models besides the D855 is required!
Hi,
I am interested to know the answer to this for the reason you just gave, as well as myself having issues with low signal area performance.
If you find out the answer, please share it.
Cheers,
Maybe a better or more precise question would be; do the G3 models have a baseband radio package that is flashable separate from the existing ROMs? Can someone familiar with the previous LGOG->N4 conversions and the process to turn on the N4 LTE radio define what is necessary in this phone?
Simply put: this sort of thing clearly has been possible before with older LG models like making the Optimus G (E970/973) compatible with Nexus4 ROMs due to having common components. And logistically/economically it's in a manufacturers interest to keep the highest commonality of components for economies of scale in manufacturing. So logically- the various G3 models should use as few different hardware parts as possible, and differences should be defined in software as much as possible.
Has anyone tried this Qualcomm SoC dev mode hack on the D850 or D852? JustLiveIt has done testing on a D855 only so far. This thread seems to indicate that any and all GSM bands could be enabled on any current Qualcomm SoC.
Any D850, D852. D851, F460, etc users who feel lucky.. please give this radio edit a try and let us know!
Does anyone have the specific instruction set for LG phones or the G3 in particular? I have tried sending PMs to the LG users in the Qualcomm unlock thread but still no reply.
D852 sitting idle, awaiting some LG-specific instructions. I'm willing to do some testing and provide feedback, I just need a guide on testing with the G3, everyone else in the Qualcomm thread is either Sony or HTC users it seems. And neither of the users working with LG phones in that thread have responded in a week..
I got a reply back from JustLiveIt on Wednesday, unfortunately he has been offline while moving from the US overseas, so he will try to provide his radio details to-date on the D855 as soon as he is able. :good:
It's easy on LG phone...I have tested on G2 CloudyG3 (I just bought new G2 so far )
1.Install LG United driver
2.Require root
3.Turn on USB Debugging and switch to MTP mode
4. Connect the phone to PC and open terminal
5. Type this
adb shell
su
echo 1> / sys / devices / platform / lg_diag_cmd / diag_enable
setprop sys.usb.config acm, diag, mtp, adb
Click to collapse
6. After that check your Device manager, this will show up "Ports (LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (ComXX))" ComXX is any number
7. Now you can do anything, play with it....

Can you check that in your rom there is /sys/devices/platform/lg_diag_cmd folder? Use any file manager apps to do this...
Also if you running custom ROM, maybe the ROM author remove it. Try to flash stock ROM and try again.....

So what can we do to re-add or load the necessary files on a Lollipop ROM? OR do we need to flash back to a stock Kitkat build? Does anyone who actually knows anything ever read these threads??
---
I've only been looking and asking for help and information for FOUR MONTHS in the G3 forums and the Qualcomm chipset thread and noone has provided any tangible information for the G3 phones, ever. I said right from the start I was willing to use my D852 to test and provide feedback, noone could even be bothered to reply. I asked people who claimed they'd had success with other G3 models, they provided nothing. This is why people hate on XDA- because it's full of useless posers who can't do anything except rehash files written or edited by others and take their credit. LOL ROMz!1one!!wan But ask for something original and useful to edit the hardware? Complete silence. Guess I may as well just sell my 852 and go buy an 851 on eBay, at least it will have what I wanted out of the box, for only $500.
Enabling LTE bands on LG VS985

Hi Enigmafied-
can you follow up here, or preferably here with the details on how you have edited the G3 radio bands? I have been looking for a set of instructions for testing this with a D852 for months with no reply from anyone..
I wanted to test access to the AWS bands for HSPA and LTE with Wind and T-Mobile on a Bell-sourced D852.

I will respond the same in both threads as it may be benificial to readers in each thread. To enable the Verizon LG G3 VS985 bands was simple, I followed the instructions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/unlocked-lte-bands-vs985-t2909150

I unlocked some others LTE bands on VS985, I tried other tips from Sony Xperia forum with no success and now just with hiddenmenu it work, for that:
1. Download Shortcut Master (lite) from play store
2. Top right -> App Explorer ->Verizon Hidden Menu
3. go to -> LTEBandSelection tap and select Launch
4. Now choose all Bands and Save and reboot
Need ROOT
That's all

Sorry, this is actually just the LG service menu accessible on any stock ROM LG phone with the standard 3845# code.. It is not really unlocking or enabling anything that wasn't already available from your provider. In fact this is pretty clearly an LG service code testing hook as this works on the stock ROM, but does not work at all on a Lollipop ROM such as Candy5. 3845# doesn't work there either.
Has anyone gotten this to work?
I have a d851 on t-mobile in the us and want to try to enable band 12 for lte
Glad that this treat is revoked again and sorry that there still is no usefully info about some interesting questions, specifically about hardware ( also regardless to ^^^post#15), would like to provide some personal update and experience past couple mounts with mine d851 model that i don't want to give up, since where i am, accordingly to lte i need bands 3 and 20, which d851 officially doesn't have them.
I did try every info that was find on net, was do a every idea that i can thing of (lacky me phone survive after couple serious crashes ), what from i know fore sure in editing android or it was hit and miss, try and error, restrictions of free (read demo) softwares, pagans magic and voodoo zens, etc etc... all i can say that i didn't succeed in enabling 3 and 20 bands and still looking for answers.
Also have a question: is it possible to change some hardware part (radio, modem, soc, whatever) and from d851 to transform in d855/d850/bands 3,20, and supporting it with appropriate software (kernel, baseband, whatever)?
I got it working.
working with qxdm not in a band 12 area dont know if it worked but settings sticking from boot.
You need to set the selinux to permissive then run from a su adb prompt
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/lg_diag_cmd/diag_enable
setprop sys.usb.config acm,diag,mtp,adb
I followed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059 but the only addition was using this to change selinux to permissive http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524485
I have a d851 using a stock rom based on the newest 5.0 for my device 20G Rom is rooted
My G3 was reported as stolen (presumably by the seller) shortly after I bought it, so the IMEI was blocked on my network. I sent the phone to the US for repair and, after some hassle and a complaint to Paypal, I received it it by return post almost 6 weeks later. Not sure if I can mention the "repair" company here but PM me for details, if you'd like them.
The phone now works on Edge / 3G but will not connect to any Australian 4G network. I've tried flashing the European (4.4.2) tot and Australian 5.0 tot but the situation persists. In slight desperation, I'll try the Hong Kong tot later today but in the meantime, does anyone know of a solution?
Possibly useful info:
There is no EFS backup.
The (new) IMEI is displayed in Phone Information and with the "06" code entered in the phone.
The model number is D855 (not D855K or any other variant)
The phone was rooted and running (I think) ANHD Lollipop when it was sent in for repair.*
Extensive searching has not produced anything that has been of use.
LTE is available in Network Selection and it sticks after reboot, so no need to use 'hidden menu', delete system files, etc...
* Probably the cause. The only instructions given were to send the phone without SIM or external SD card.
Have you tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54621213&postcount=26
Or this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/mod-root-activate-lte-g3-t2819387
Yes. It's nothing to do with settings, I think. I have LTE in settings, no problem. It just won't connect to any band n the hidden menu (I tried each one). Seems that the Australian LTE bands have been knocked out, somehow.
Just discovered that the phone will not connect to data network if GSM only is selected but GSM/WCDMA will switch between EDGE/3G (H - no H+)
HK .tot file did not resolve the problem.

up to you! The more money there is the bigger the incentive is for whoever cracks it. Everything will go to that person.
I'm working on getting my LM-V500N rooted, but I'm seeing little hope that I will be able to accomplish this. I am not a talented wizard by any stretch of the imagination, so hoping for me to be the one seems folly.
But at least one person is working on it.
Another avenue that should be pursued is venturing into the SK side of the internet to see if they have had any luck or made any progress on that side of the pond. The population of Korean Varient V50 owners is obviously going to be much higher over there. It has occurred to me that they could very well already have a root method and bootloader unlock for the N Varient that we are simply unaware of because of the language insulation. I haven't looked. But the bounty might be ripe for the taking.
On google.co.kr the top result for "LG V50 root" is this subforum. That's about all I got when it comes to browsing the Korean internet. If anyone knows Korean though that's a great idea Dathaniel

As the european V500EM can be unlocked officially anyway (what ive been told, and what the one who asked me to make the TWRP said, as he unlocked his bootloader), could someone test this TWRP?
Basically a converted TWRP from the V40, with added product partition and sd855 stuff: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TIp_PK4VQIq6cD_LwpPGgEzhCpiMvqk_
TWRP has set 2019-05-01 security patch, should be same for the system its supposed to boot, as that was the security patch level of the kdz i unpacked.
Encryption wont work, im 99% sure of that, but it should atleast boot, steps should be similar as on the V40 (on how to install/boot it). V40 Guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/development/twrp-lg-v40-judypn-t3970111
This is solely for the V500EM (it technically should boot on other variants as well, but for that you would need to unlock the bootloader there).
A loophole on the G7 (what ive been told) was though that, even though bootloader was locked, you could fastboot boot ANY image you wanted, and therefor gain temp root, anyone tried that yet, just curious.

Hello, Markus!
We are quite a few on Korean model, but as soon as we unlock and TWRP will work, count on me for a $50 donation. I also will throw another $50 for working common.dll and lgup for crossflashing to European or other stock firmwares. Also 100$ for root/bootloader unlock. I'll try tomorrow to see if we have access to fastboot and maybe try to flash your TWRP from there. I'll let you know here.
Thx for supporting us! :good::highfive:
HI ALL, I have samsung 46mm watch (SM-R805U) I think it is a USA version, I am trying to connect it to Canada LTE with Telus. I have the service to add a watch with my telus plan, but anytime I tried to connect through the wearable app i get the error that the mobile service for this watch not available in this region.
I did some searching, and I found that I can do the region change through SDB, I was able to successfully connect to the watch but I only get the USA providers options (XAR, ATT..) no other regions networks.
Is there anyway I could have this watch to work on the Canadian LTE, even by flashing the watch or other ways to change the region?
Try to look into other Thread/s)...

You are NOT alone.
Working solution:
Sell your US device
Buy Canadian Version...
Sorry, NO joke.
This is easiest solution without wasting time...
Only if your are good in GSM Hacking... Reversing stuff...
Feel free to deliver your own solution.
Good Luck.
Best Regards
There is away to change the firmware through Net-Odin, which could be able to unlock the region, but I am not sure what Firmware to use or where to download?
Again.
Feel free to find your own solution.
Maybe you are trying hard enough or by luck...

Info for you...
Here is SM-R805W this is IMHO Canadian Version...
https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=folder&id=36102
Here is US device Firmware for SM-R805U:
https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=folder&id=35613
From U like US IMHO somewehre free download... I can NOT remember for W like Cannada.
Simple Homework for you...
Unpack with Tool 7Zip the CSC...csc.img... then look with open eyes.
If you look correct, you will find Scripts for Preconfig...
These Files have nothing to do with the eSIM "Magic"...
IMHO the magic is minimum in CP part... Modem and/or on device...
I am from Germany.
I have not US nor Cannadian nor any European LTE Version...
So I can not do my own studies...
Nobody dump data...
Nobody log data...
Nobody share something...
Nor somebody do some Reversing Modem related...
For GWA2 some interesting files leaked... Modem related...
Good luck.
Please inform us if you have solution. :victory:
Edit 2.
I have only 1 Combination firmware... no Stock Firmware for research:
https://samsungcombinationfile.com/samsung-sm-r805w
SM-R805W_Combination_FT40_R805WVLU1ASA1.zip
Code:
[B][COLOR="Red"]Combination[/COLOR][/B]_FT40_R805[B][COLOR="Red"]W[/COLOR][/B]VLU1ASA1
Maybe somebody find free SM-R805W or SM-R15W Firmware... for study...
This is great thank you for the help, I will give the firmware in the second edit a try, hopefully it does not brick the watch!!
NO. Not flash!
You will 10000% create problem... because you have SM-R805U
Please learn... try to read other posts ... threads.
Study... Research...
SM-R805U US USA NOT Cannada is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/galaxy-watch/firmware-r805u-t3936826
Maybe start with Lesson 1.
Download and unpack with 7Zip Tool.
Best Regards
thanks, I was able to update the firmware with the one in the link below. I did not have the UI update before but now it updates. Unfortunately the carrier list still did not change, I hope there is away I could change the region of the watch
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sma...r805u-t3936826
Meanwhile "we" have Stock Firmware for SM-R815W...
I could share...
Meanwhile I saw this:

Untested... NOT confirmed yet.

If anyone wants to try out the STOCK FIRMWARE, me and or adfree have a link to it.
SM-R815W Combination Firmware:

SM-R815W_Combination_FT40_R815[COLOR="Red"][B]W[/B][/COLOR]VLU1ASA1.rar
https://samsungcombinationfile.com/samsung-sm-r815w
Code:
SM-R815W_Combination_FT40_R815[B][COLOR="Red"]W[/COLOR][/B]VLU1ASA1.zip
Stock Firmware for SM-R815W:
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1N0C-35GOk_hGfP7MI5INuBPJWBpKL0pE&export=download
Code:
R815[B]W[/B]VLU1[B]ASA5[/B].
Inside csc.img is exact 1 CSC /Sales Code...
Code:
XAC
Use 7Zip Tool to check content...
Maybe no need to change CSC via SDB... maybe auto select, because only 1 CSC inside...
Best Regards

Hey, so you never tried the firmware in the link? I actually have a 805W and I want to try flashing a different firmware to see if I can force an update. I'm on 4.0.0.0 on my 805W and can't get it to update to newer Tizen.

Hey adfree, I downloaded the 805W (I have this model) and extacted the tar, renamed the csc img to zip and extracted that (with some warnings).
Inside, there is a SW_Configuration.xml, but it only says
Code:
<CSCName>R805FAC</CSCName>
<CSCVersion>1ASA1</CSCVersion>
which is clearly not 805W. Is there another file I'm supposed to look at to see the actual CSC code?
Thanks
