I'm hoping someone has or can retrieve the Note II boot up image that says Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 in white emblazoned on a black background, for use as my wallpaper. The image itself resides in the system/media/ file folder and root access is need to attempt copying the image itself
I'll gladly pay anyone who uses their time copy and send the image to me. I had an image similar to this one on my first Note and I'd like to have a matching set of images for both the original Note GT-N7000 and for this BEAST.
Also, has anyone actually noticed any change in speed from a Dual-Core Exynos to a Quad-Core? So far I havent't really seen it yet although it scored a 6967 in Quadrant.
I've had my new beast since Monday, October 1st but I haven't activated service on it yet (I'm waiting until just before my current monthly minutes expire) but when I do activate it I'm going with T-Mobile's $50 "unlimited" plan. For me as a first time T-Mobiler i can grab the plan and finally start saving some $$$.
As always, THANK YOU in advance!
Help! Anyone, Anyone...
I can't believe nobody on XDA can't grab the .qmg file or doesn't have access to the media file folder. Perhaps someone reading this happens to know person who was able to grab the file for the original GT-N7000.
If you know or heard of the person that was able to get the image from the original beast they could PM me so I can contact that dev/person who may be able to snag it for this BEAST. Please.
I looking for a simple .png file of the boot screen for use as my wallpaper - I'm willing to PAY anyone who uses their valuable time doing so. PM me if your interested in taking my money for one high quality .qmg file from the /system/media/ file folder.
I haven't rooted this Note yet as I'm waiting for the first 30 days of use to make sure I won't have issues with device in case I need to exchange/return it.
As always, THANK YOU in advance!

So I have a weird case. My grandma passed away last Saturday but before she passed away I recorded the priests blessing and words to my family using my phone. At the end my phone froze and the file didn't save correctly. I have the file but it's corrupted but I was wondering it was possible to recover uncorrupted data from the phone and retrieve the video...
It would mean a lot to me and the rest of the family that couldn't be there.
Thank you!
Sorry to hear, first thing I would do is get the file to my computer and see if vlc can play and/or repair the file. Beyond that, you'll need some professional help to see if its even possible. Make sure you back up the original file just in case you figure it out in the future.
thank you!
I really hope someone here can help me out. So far my efforts have been fruitless
If you can send me the file then I can take a look at it.
I'm not a professional by any means, but I've taken a few data recovery/computer forensics courses and I'm pretty good with stuff like that.
If you don't want to send it because it's too personal or any other reason, no worries. I'm just trying to help out. I can't promise a solution, but hey, it's free
Send me a pm if you want me to look at it.
UPS has just posted my GN2 package as "Out for delivery"!
I have already downloaded all of the files I'll need to root & flash a ROM. I've even built my home screen in UCCW.
I honestly don't care to know how great this device is without root & tweaks so I'm going to blow that warranty out of the water ASAP.
Does anybody know whether it will make a difference if I root before I even get online with Sprint services activated on the device?
I'm assuming I would be able to do so as long as I can get a wifi connection.
Yes, I am very impatient. I'm retiring a 2.5 year-old OG Evo for this. I'm emotionally needy for a new gadget.

Personally, I'd activate first(it takes 5 minutes at most), and spend a little bit of time making sure you didn't get a dud before you modify it.
I don't think it matters though
Wondering if anyone here has flashed their LGOG to pageplus w/ 3g/mms.
It's time to retire my Fascinate and the LGOG seems to be a little more affordable than other quad cores on ebay. SIII flashes over, but resellers on ebay are demanding top $. May have to settle for a proven dual core like SNexus. The LGOG would be nice, you guy seem enthusiastic about the phone. Great reviews.
Plus, LGOG has a large and active group here. Big +
Thanks in advance.
FLASHING
I haven't found anyone who has flashed this phone to any other carrier. I was able to flash mine to Verizon PrePay but the flash is incomplete for the fact that everything works except anything over 1x. In other words I can't get 3g to work because I can't seem to get into the EFS files to insert the "num" files. I'm not sure that the carrier that you want to use would require this type of flash but I think it will. I have a "real" hacker looking at it and I'm afraid until someone can figure out how to get into the EFS files you won't be able to get a full flash. I'll post it on my thread if and when it happens and ask you to do the same if you find success.
You're the first I heard from since posting my questions in a few forums. Howard Forum has a pretty active PagePlus thread, but no luck. A few email exchanges with some guys selling remote flash on ebay, neither have flashed the LGOG. Not sure I'd want to go that route.
It will be a month or two until I choose a new phone. Maybe one of those phone god types will have it figured out by then.
I have a SGS3 from ST my sons friend thought he was some kind of genus phone god and was gonna, so he said make it faster. all he did was soft brick it. moral there is never forget your phone at home while at work.
It took me almost two years I believe but I got a rom on it. I went with wicked sensations 5 and anaconda as a theme. It made the phone fast and looks awesome cudos you guys, great design. There is just one problem its on sprints atm's and I cant for the life of me figure out how to change it. I tried every trick I could think of. it wont allow me to use any program off Google store and it wont allow me to do it manually. The mobile settings arnt even even there and there is no manual place to manually change any thing please guys I am begging for help. mean while I am wasting my $45.00 card and money does not come easy to me I am disabled for the time being while my neck and back heal. So please please tell me how to change to ST numbers I have the numbers it just doesn't give me a place to put them.
I'm thinking that you are talking about APNs not ATMs. I have placed a link in the post that may help you out. I see you are posting in the Sprint forum and the link is for the Verizon S3 so this is mostly a "here is basically what you're looking for." You will need to flash the ZIP file while in recovery for the APNs to work. In my experience I have always had to flash right after I initially flash the ROM but before I reboot, other people may have had other experiences. You might try a google search for: Straight Talk APN S3 Zip verizon/sprint/at&t/etc.

On a side note, your post has some errors with the terminology and grammar used. The biggest part here is using the proper terms. I think you would have better success if you did that.
I'm sorry if I come off like a mean person but I want to be helpful. I really do wish you the best.

I have doubts that it will work on the N975U or N975U1.
No developer has dropped any indication anything was coming. You would think that before anything is released they might ask for volunteers to test it first... at the very least something would have been said announcing any impending arrival.
Maybe elliwigy can confirm one way or the other, but I believe if it were a possibility elliwigy or another developer would have said something before now.
There is a zero day hack that attacks the ram buffer by exploiting the .qmg image files sent in mms someone should take a look at this before it gets patched might be a way to create a kernel panic and dump a su binary in. Even if its only a temp root.
Jurczyk created a proof of concept exploit to demonstrate how an attacker might use this vulnerability. He attacked the default Samsung Messages app and bombarded it with between 50 and 300 MMS messages to discover where the Skia library was in device memory. Once he located that, the payload could be delivered, which enables the attacker to remotely, and invisibly, execute code
