[REQUEST] Note2 feature Multi Window on the Galaxy S3. - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908903
This was already a request in the i9300 section, im just simply asking for the attention of the talented devs in the T999 community.
This would be a great feature to have in your JB roms. A poster in the other thread said
"Today the 1st Note2 rom with multiwindow feature has been released.
It contains a multiwindow.jar and multiwindow.odex inside the /system/framework/ folder, but it's not enough with just copying those files into our roms, I guess some more files would need to be modified so it can work in our jb rom."
The devs here do great work and might be able to port this some how for us.
Just throwing it out there.

Open Letter to XDA Regarding strongsteve

In regards to what happened with strongsteve earlier this evening, I hope that you will come to the realization that you made a mistake. I know that you are attempting to work it out with Steve directly, but that resolution could, and should, be an admission of your misstep and immediate correction of the error.
I don't think anyone on here would argue with your logic in breaking the forums up into general topics. But in this case, the area was gray at best. If all of Steve's users and supporters knew his work and his information to be in the Dev section, what is the harm in leaving it in the Dev section? Instead, you so insulted a great contributor to the point that he felt compelled to shut his project down. I would strongly argue that that is far more harmful than having Steve's work appear in the Dev section of the forum.
I'm not suggesting that the notion of sub-forums be removed. We can't have chaos here. But in the case of something so gray, something so questionable, you made a bad call. Hell, I'm sure it is just a matter of time before this thread gets moved. But I wanted Steve and his supporters to read this, and this is the sub-forum they are trolling.
So I ask you to simply right your wrong. Because if you don't, a great many of us are going to miss out on some fantastic DEV WORK that Steve is doing.
So what I miss?

Mod:
This is clearly a themed ROM - using a base that is a deodexed base of the stock ROM. This is not an Original Development ROM, but is a themed ROM - so it is moved to Themes & Apps. It is entirely appropriate to place themed ROMs in the Themes section.

Just read his threads. His work is original development. Go read a dictionary for "develop" ... Jerdog is in the wrong. Taking away CIQ is not a theme either lol. He was the first to have it odexed, it is original

Also in regards to "original" development. This isn't the international thread for the galaxy s2. They have separate sections for original development and the other normal development. We have one, it's called development, and the developer was only developing

Not to troll but I'm sure this thread will be closed in a few so I'd like to comment about this situation.. I don't know the full jist but I would think that we as a community would do anything in our power to keep these devs happy cause without them we got NOTHING...Well maybe Rootzwiki but Like I just said....NADA!!! So I support Steve all the way!!!
Considering how few roms have been developed so far we should be embracing all that we have. Looking over the thread I can see how this decision by the mods is heavy handed.
What ROM did Steve make?

Agree with this.
one less dev. not cool.

I think you missed the point here - no one is saying what has been done here isn't worthy - quite the contrary. This is an effort to move things that are original development and separate them from things that are MOD's and Themes. There is a difference between creating a ROM from scratch and theming someone else's work by taking pieces from here and there, making changes and then zipping it up into an update.zip.

This is ridiculous. Has anyone here made a rom from scratch?!? I'd love to meet a dev who can create their own rom without ANYTHING from samsung and sprint. Steve's odexed roms are top notch and some of the best roms I've used. No los, no problems. As for people who say you can flash separate mods, you can to some extent but I've found even trying to flash the stock kernel to be a pain for some roms. Steve may have used other elements such as the ICS theme but he gave credit for whom it was due and he made one of my fav roms. Leave it in the DEV section!
This is not a school we are grown people that are subpose to make a community of something we enjoy since when did everyone get there panties In a twist and further more I like to see the moderator Dec anything cause last time I check every rom has sprints of base and everey. Rom thread has thank yous to other devs. Tweaks . Let us work together cause if stuff like this keeps happening people are gonna start jumping ship to rootswiki it ppc. And that's my 2 cents VERY DISAPPOINTED XDA!

Yes, you can flash separate mods if you are deodexed, but Steve odexed some of those mods that otherwise were only meant to be used on deodexed roms by their original developers. As I understand, he was working on odexing others as well. In addition, the other roms on here include all sorts of mods created by others. The all also give credit where credit is due, Steve included as stated previously.
Please leave Strongsteve's roms in the dev section as he has created the only odexed roms with the goodies we all want to have and was continually adding more as he revised the original mods to be compatible with an odexed rom.
PLEASE!! be nice to Strongsteve's he does deserve the respect..... at the same time I wanna give a shoutout to Strongsteve's for all the great job he has done. I thank you very much.
I totally agree with this and feel they are way off base. I support strongsteve fully.
It takes a lot to admit being wrong but that is what needs to happen here from mods.
It was nice to finally see odexed getting some respect not to mention the dev section for this phone finally getting a good amount of activity.
A good thing has been taken away. Please reconsider.

[REQUEST]JB 4.2 GoogleGallery Port

Hi,
Since I suppose this is technically a development related topic, will there be a porting of the 4.2 camera to any ROMs other than PACman? Photo Sphere was broken in PACman (along with some other stuff), so I switched to AOKP and it has the older camera. Or if it's already been ported, can someone shoot me a link for the required files? Sorry if this is in the wrong section Mods.
Spanks, worldindo1.

4.2 ROMs should be coming out soon, I'm sure the devs will jump all over it when its ready.

Question to advanced developers

Is there a possibility to add the rotational animation effect to a SONY GingerBread rom?. I'm asking this because in CM 7 ROM, that is based on Gingerbread, this effect is present. I'm not sure if this feature is in Framework, but is there someone that could port that to a SONY GB rom?.
And another question: What about a multitasking GB rom?, on GB when you switch to another app, the last one closes, and if you back to last one used from the recent app list it opens from the begining.
Hope that advance people respond to this.
Thanks for your time.:fingers-crossed:

Sorry, I was on a rush. I corrected the meaning.
As far as I know it is not possible to add an rotation transition effect into GB. From what I remember reading back in the GB days, the animation is dealt within the lib files ( .so files) which can't be edited. I could be wrong, but this is what I read. There was a thread investigating this matter.

Hi,
Get the libsurfaceflinger.so and libsurfacefliger client from system/libs the CM7 ROM and put that in system/libs of your desired ROM. If you need more help ask away. Let me research about the multitasking

I checked your post, and I noticed that the files you mentioned already was in CM7 rom, but not in a GB rom. Anyway, I'm sure that this is not as simple as adding those files to a GB rom. I'm sure that some harcoding must be done on a SONY GB ROM to acomplish that.
Hope that any other advanced dev see this thread and discuss it. :fingers-crossed:
If I would started this topic in the DEV section (because only devs can answer this kind of question), I would have at least 10 responses from devs.
Then, this thread was moved to "General Arc", and there I could have at least two more replies.
But now.. This thread was moved to " Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting", and in this thread... there is no dev reading posts.
I know that rules are alive before I post something... but aswell, I know that if I do a very tech question... geberal and Q&A forums will not give a spected answer.
SO. wich user could spect a worth response from a right devr?
If devs would look at the Q&A and general forums, maybe this place would be with a lot of less noobs asking what already was answered.
Thanks. :good:

"Noobs" that are asking already answered questions are helpless and any dev or whatever god you believe in wouldn't help them because they are simply lazy or retarded.

Sorry, Im not a developer, and so, I cannot coock a rom adding the files mentioned. Anyway, Weeo answer was the most interesting, I'm giving that to some developers and see if the could try to do something.
what weeo is right bcz an (.so) file cant be edited after its compiled ....so CM rom are built from source where .so files can be edited before compiling...so thats why CM7 have those animations....
its not possible to add that in stock roms...
i told my point of view.......if iam wrong plz correct me..

mm, seems that the door is still open
I personally think that finally it's not possible... if so, the old GB developers would implemented that already.
I'm wondering is there existed some SONY X10 coocked rom with that feature.
i was looking into this a while back and someone seems to have managed it on samsung S2 2.3.6

Ink Effect apk?

Is there like an apk or something for the lockscreen ink effect from the Note 2 that we can use with any ROM? I absolutely love it(I play with it so much when I'm bored lol), and not having it right now for UVDMD5 4.1.2 is the only reason I don't won't to flash it just yet. If not, is it possible to pull it out from a ROM that does have it? Thanks for helping!
Not available for our phone yet, but will be soon I'm sure... or you can start dabbling your feet in the sprint section and there mods. I have used a couple and gone without a hitch except for Wasabi themes that looped on me.

Whoops, I thought I posted in the Q&A section. Guess not, sorry!
How did ROM developers for the t999 get the ink effect onto our phones then? I feel like there should be a way we can pull it out from one of those ROMS to get it into another at the very least. Maybe not though?
