I just got the Sprint Galaxy S3 and like, but there a few things I miss about sense(came from original EVO). Mainly missing the sense dialer and widgets. Are there any plans to develop any sense based ROMs for the S3?
This is not q&a wrong place bro may wanna have mods delete, people will start flaming .....and to answer your question I doubt its gonna happen

Judging by your post count, you should know better than to start a thread asking a question in the development section. Here ya go:

my bad and found the answer looks like sense4all is already working on it.
Mods feel free to delete this thread.

I just got a email from Samsung saying the official jb update was available. What do I need to do to go back to stock room and update to OE jelly bean?

Why take all the effort to restore the stock ROM and stock bootloader, when i'm sure someone will have a custom ROM based on the official build, possibly in a day or two?

Yup, that's what I'm waiting for. Why Odin back to stock just to have a bloated Sammy rom, when soon enough one or more of our highly respected Devs will have top notch roms for the flashing.

There's already a rom that came out. It's based on Rogers. It's exactly the same as at&t without bloatware. I have it and it runs great.

I've NEVER understood why in the world people want the "official" updates when they can simply wait a day or 2 for ROM chefs to cook up a bloat, crap free ROM! Why go thru the whole unroot, flash the update then re root again...... Makes NO sense to me, must be really impatient n00bs or something lol justsayin

I run this also, and it works great, but I will say that it's not EXACTLY the same. The lock screen news feed doesn't work, says it can't determine my country...in other words, not Canada, no newsfeed. It's minor stuff.
Shouldn't this be in Q&A/locked due to the fact that there's a discussion thread already for this?

It's just a question.. No need for some of you to get a *****y about a question. I'm on serenity 1.2 and like to have a ROM close to OE... Which ROM were you other guys referring to?
Yea I'm a noob... But I'm sure all of you were noobs at some point...

The only reason people are getting "*****y", as you say, is because you posted your "question" in a development forum. I also was a noob at some point and still act like one here and there but I also show the fellow Xda'ers, devs, and mods alike respect by following the rules of xda and not getting snippy with the people trying to inform of a mistake made. Development sections are strictly for Rom releases and their corresponding threads. Had you posted this in the q&a section no one would have said a word to you. Friendly advice from a semi noob to a complete noob!
Ps people could get a whole lot meaner by the way!! Consider yourself lucky so far!

So many things wrong in this thread
First development is for developers only to post threads
so moving to General
Second there already is a bunch of these so please search before posting
There is a sticky thread in General for this topic to prevent 30 of the same threads
So thread closed
Thanks

Hi all! I'm new to this forum I'd like to ask for recommendations for ROMs to flash on my Note II.
I had a DHD before and mainly used AOKP ROMs on it, though I'd like to try touch wiz some more since it's not as much as a battery juice hog compared to SenseUI.
It all depends what you want. Do you want a samsungless rom in the sense that it is just android or would you like a samsung rom with a stock look
If you can be a little more specific i can be more specific.
Currently i am using dualnote 5.0 which is a debloated, samsung key apps featuring rom with a stock jelly bean theme
It has snote and scalender and it also look like jellybean the combonation i wanted
What combonation do you want
-looks
-battery
-speed
-nerve tingling
Hope to hear from you!

I think it'll be best for me to find out myself of what ROM will I be liking. Thanks a lot for the input, I appreciate it.
Maybe I'll try out a buffed/tweak version of the stock 4.2.1 ROM if there's any since I'm starting to like the Touch wiz dock
Looks like hamza got trolled. Lolz. Such fun at xda.

Why start a New thread on such a question that has been posted thousands of times and has a million different answers all over this forum? And then you come to a conclusion where the whole point of this thread is proven to be completely useless.

I'm just curious and want to hear answers from you guys, what do you believe is the best TouchWiz ROM on the Note II? If you could list your pro's and con's I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, if you're running AOSP Roms, I'd like to hear your reason why you got away from TouchWiz?
Thanks in advance!
The best one is the one that suits your needs best! Why else would there be so many good ones to chose from? Try them and or read about them and find the one that you like. This will be closed soon I'm sure.

Clearly, you didn't read. I am just trying to start a conversation on what ROM you are running and why you like it the most. I'm not asking for myself so that I can flash a ROM.
I happen to like threads like these. I just hate when a bunch are opened. The whole idea that all roms are created equal is the silliest thing I've seen since youth sports that don't keep score. That said some roms are better than others depending on what your looking for.
My favorite thus far has been Wanamlite over in the 7105 forum. Works great on my ATT note. I've been testing out Jedi for the last day or so and it's been good, but I think I'm going back. Things like per app dpi and pie don't interest me at all and that's the only reason why. I lower the dpi all together and use a different launcher, phone, messaging and so on apps. Just like TW for multi-window and S-Pen.

Still doesn't belong here. Your using the word "best" will surely cause a lot of drama and arguing over which is better.

Exactly . Threads like this are not allowed and im pretty sure all the stickies in each sub forum say so.
There is no best rom other than what suits you.
Thread reported
All,
"Best Rom" threads are not condoned, they may serve a purpose for the immediate short term, but almost all the time they spiral into arguments about one over another - "Best" is a subjective term.
No more! All users are expected to read and study and flash the ones they are interested in and have discussion in the specific thread(s).

OK, so a week ago I switch from the GSII to GSIII.. GSII has a bunch of support!! Figured since the SIII has been out a while that the S3 would be close to the same level... thought wrong... here's why.. I love multiwindow, I love S voice, Smart stay etc... well what "ROM" do I choose that supports these functions??? Some consider these options "bloat", but without them what seperates the GSII from GSIII?? THIS is not a rant, just a real question.. I want to keep these items and still have customization like I did on AOKP roms... where do I turn???

There are a bunch of ROMs that have multiwindow and a bunch of customization options. Try to read the ROM threads more clearly and you will see which ROMs have which features.
I was just using Axis yesterday, and I recommend it to you. It has a nice theme, multi window, and a plethora of tweaks. You can change almost any part of the ROM to suit your liking. I know the screenshots in the thread don't reveal much, but it has the most customization options in any TouchWiz ROM I've used to date...I'll even say that it's close to the number of options AOKP has. :good:
The S3 just got the 4.1.2 update with the multi-window, you really can't expect devs to add custom features that quickly. Take a look in the android development thread, keep an eye out for anything Jovy23 releases.
Other than that, you have to flash what's available, there are 4.1.2 ports that have the multiwindow feature as well as the other features you mention. You can find this stuff in the android development section.

Why do we have a T-mobile
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2279
and a regular SGS4 forums
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2162'
Aren't we T-mobile USA M919 people the same thing as SGS4 9505?
International version is the 19500 something something

There's the International i9500 and the i9505... one is the octa-core and the other is the quad-core just like the m919. i9505 and m919 ROMs (all SGS4 models except the 9500, actually) are interchangeable so long as they don't include modems/baseband, etc...but who does that anyway? Oh, and the kernel; gotta use a kernel for your specific model...
Yeah.. I get everything you guys are saying, but my question is NOT "What kind of phones are out there"
My question is why do we have 2 forums, the T-mobile forum, and the other SGS4 forum... when we can all just go into the 9505 forum on xda..

Yea but think of how many problems this would cause because of the 3 or 4 things that are not compatible. Seems like its easier for newbies to just look for where they bought their phone and not have to worry about basebands, Kernels, Radio/Modems and any other incompatible firmware.

I think things are bad as it is and I agree that 3-4 different S4 models in the same forums
is just asking for more problems and a lot more little shiny BRICKS! LOL
What I really would like to see though, and I am surprised that no one else mentioned it before me which is
the fact that there are two Tmobile M919 Forums, one for the "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Original Android Development"
and the other for "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android Development".
At first when the the "Original Development" forums were created it was made clear to all the devs that all the CM10/AOSP/AOKP/MIUI
roms belong in the "Original Development" forums. (this held true for other brands and models of phones not just the S4)
And now for who knows what reason a lot of the CM10/AOSP/AOKP devs started using the "T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4 Android
Development" forum for all those AOSP/AOKP/CM10 roms so now they are all mixed together with the standard Touchwiz Jellybean
based custom roms.
Sometimes it's not very easy to even tell which is which unless we search real hard in the OP post of each roms thread.
I am surprised that none of the xda moderators here have said anything about it, and it's been going on now for a long time.

Its because the ROMs in the original development section are built from source. The other section may be based on aosp ROMs but its not built from source.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
It all is very clear. Of everything is original development for original roms. Roms that have original coding and features. Everything else goes in the other development. It is not just a matter of being built from source. I could build an AOKP roms from source but it would not go in original development. As there is nothing original in the rom. Just a kang of someone else's work.
As for the OP question. The simplest and most straight forward answer is that people are stupid and can't read or do proper research before they decide to reprogram their device. So we have to separate them and give them less chance of screwing it up and then filling this development forum with tons of thread stating how they bricked their device and need help fast, like this is some support site.
Wayne Tech Nexus
When the s3 came out last year, I remember that there was only one forum for the Intl and US variants, boy what a mess it was reading threads that does not relate to the tmo version or the att one. I'm glad xda realized it and separated it like how it is now. It is better this way and much easier to find answers or ask questions related to your specific device.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 2
on the international side roms are based off the international stock version.
Then you have the carrier branded sites for tmobile att verizon etc.. which have roms based off there respective carrier. So for us its based off tmobile rom with tmobile bloat ie wifi calling.
that at least my take.
