[Q] LIH leak - how to get native SIP back? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

The code for it is still in SecPhone.apk, but it's getting disabled somewhere. There was a check for "d2spr" that turned it off, so I went ahead and modified the .smali to just bypass that - still no luck.
For anyone who wants a shortcut, it's com.android.phone.PhoneUtils.smali "isVoipSupported()Z", I just hardcoded it to return true (const/4 v0, 0x01; return v0)
Anyone else done digging on it? Having my cell ring when my deskphone did was a really nice feature, as was calling out via the work VoIP account instead of using minutes.

I would really like to have that feature back as well. Please post if you find a fix.

Problem with new WM6.1 ROM

Hey everyone, got a quick question.
I just finished installing the WM6.1 ROM for my T-Mobile dash, and it looks really nice. Everything is working fine, but I have two small problems.
The first thing is that for some reason, my phone wants to put a + in front of all outgoing calls. So if i make a contact in my address book with the phone number of 212-555-1212 and try to call them, the phone places the call as +2125551212 and I get an error from tmobile saying that 'The international phone call you are trying to make cannot be completed...' I realize that + denotes the international dialing prefix, and I can get around it by setting up all my contacts with a '1' before the area code, but there has to be a simpler solution as this was not the case with the original rom. If I dial a number normally, it doesn't put the + before it. Any ideas?
Lastly, I am having a hard time finding out how to disable the JOGGR from doing in-call volume adjustments. While I like it for scrolling, I find it really annoying in phone calls as it is constantly missreading my face as my finger and adjusting the volume up and down. In the original t-mobile rom there was an option under settings for it, but I can't see it in the new rom. I went into the registry editor and tried disabling one function that looked like what I wanted to turn off, but it didn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No idea about the + but the JOGGR disable is still in the Settings. It is on the 3rd page, #3 JOGGR.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I am able to disable the JOGGR completely using that, but I was hoping for a way to use it for scrolling, but not for volume control.
In regards to the + problem, I went through every option in Settings and couldn't find anything. All the Regional information is correct. I even used the RegEditor to search for + in the entire registry, and it came up with nothing relevant.... Weird. Especially because even if this is an international version, there shouldn't be a + in front of all calls by default, because that would force an international call no matter what country you are in...
Well, I think that it fixed it self in regards to the + problem. Even though I had done so before to no success, figuring that it is running a Microsoft product, a couple of reboots later and it seems to have gone away. Hopefully this isn't a bug that will continue to resurface or is the tip of a larger iceberg.
Just FYI, the + is the prefix for international dialing. If you input all your contacts as +1-404-555-1212 you won't have the problem (1 is the country code for the USA). Another plus to this method is that, if you should go outside the US to a country that uses the GSM network, you can dial your contacts directly via whatever carrier you're on there.

SMS Sent Notification Reg Hack not working on VZ

My phone already had the listed hack enabled out of the box. Any other ideas?
redo the hack with Advanced Config 3.3?
Do you know for certain this works? Your question mark at the end made me ask. Normally I wouldn't care and just try it but I read on here someone installed it and it messed another setting up so I just want to be cautious.
the question mark is exactly why its there. I don't know if it will work. I can say that i've had Advanced Config 3.3 on my TP2 since I got it & it hasn't messed up anything at all. My previous reply is just a suggestion, i don't know if it will actually work.
Ok thanks. I don't understand why they just don't give you the option in messaging window to toggle it.
I tried it with the Advanced Config Tool 3.3.... on a Verizon TP2... didn't work... major bummer

Stock HTC ROM on Tilt 2, answering phone issue

I have searched but not found any links to a fix, I really like using the stock WWE HTC ROM on my Tilt 2 but I am having problems answering calls with slide to unlock. When I slide it sticks and doesn't answer the phone. Is there a fix for this? I have read I need to use the att dialer but I can't find a cab for it or other patch.
Thank you
I too were having this problem and searched for the answer.
In order to fix it you need AT&T dialer not HTC dialer.
Ok, how do I get that dialer?
Thank you
Since your phone is stock, I don't know what "tweaking" tools come with a stock rom, but do a search for "advanced configuration tool", and inside that program, go to the phone menu and there will be an option for "PHONE SKIN", and it will most likely be enabled (by default). Disable it, and when it asks to reboot, the AT&T dialer will be back. You lose video calling, but I don't think at&t uses that anyway.
I personally like the at&t dialer anyway.
While that solves the problem it also removes the ability to use the speaker phone by placing it face down and also the mute button. From searching I see I need to use the att dialer (not the WM 6.5 dialer or the htc dialer). Anyone know how I can replace the dialer with the att dialer?

If it's a Tilt 2 - then is was supposed to come with the AT&T Dialer installed. If it's not running now then either it was flashed with the wrong ROM or you have altered the phone somehow. If you have run a COnfiguration Utility of some sort, go back and look carefully at what you altered and set them back to the original values.
You might try a Hard Reset. If it doesn't work after that - take it back for an exchange, either the ROM image or hardware are faulty.
Good Luck!
I ended up running the e2 sense ROM which works correctly.

[Q]Native SIP Client on SGH-T989

Hello Everyone.
This is my first post and I would like to say that I am loving this phone.
I used to have a Motorola Milestone running CM7 and it had built-in a Native SIP client under Call Settings.
Does anyone know how to modify the stock T-Mobile ROM to have this mod?
I tried the topic below already but I had no luck. Recompiled framework-res.apk as it is described but I still can't see Internet call options anywhere:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109962
If someone has the experience on doing this I would really appreciate if you could guide us on how to do this on our Phone.
Thanks!
Native SIP Client on SGH-T989
For everyone,
I noticed after performing the steps in the link I posted above, I do not see Internet Calling Settings under Call Settings, however, if I setup an Internet call address in my contacts and try to call it, the phone prompts me a popup asking if I want to add a SIP account...
So the SIP stack is really there but I just can't access it.
This may need some mod over Call Settings Menu to include Internet Calling Settings under it.
As soon as I figure out more stuffs I will post here.
If anyone knows a bit about it, please post here as well.
Thanks!
Thanks for the update on this, I actually switched to CM7 specifically because I couldn't find this functionality in other ROMS for this phone (coincidentally I came from a Milestone as well). If you can't find the native stack but are otherwise happy with your ROM, check out SIPDroid in the Market. It's a little less integrated, but works well and has some neat features of its own.

Well, So far I've tested CSipSimple and SipDroid as well... SipDroid is ok but I think the sound quality is not as good as the Native SIP Client.
CSipSimple has lots of bugs with our ROM... For example if you receive a call and try to answer it by sliding from left to right doesn't work.
It would be really nice if T-Mobile + Samsung wouldn't have cut this off from our firmware...

Voicemail code (Boost Mobile)?

I just flashed a custom ROM to my phone for the first time. It took a little figuring out, as it was my first time flashing, but it works! And, I'm over my fear factor, so I'll probably try some other ones and not afraid to tweak anymore.
So, the only thing I'm really having trouble with now is setting up my Voicemail. I'm on the Boost Mobile network, and I presume there is a short code that we are supposed to dial to get into Voicemail or something like that, and I presume this changes depending on the carrier.
I thought we just dialed "1" from the dialpad to access and setup, but I just get a recording that says "The number you are accessing is invalid, please hang up and try again." That was what I saw under Boost's instructions online.
http://www.boostmobile.com/shop/phones/mobile-guides/htc-one-sv/Content/20130109_HTC_One_SV_Boost_User_Guide_WWE/Set%20Up%20Voicemail.htm
But, even beyond that, I'd like to set up Visual Voicemail... So, not sure if this is where I'll need an app or something.
If anyone has any hints or can point me in the right direction, that would be great!
Okay, I just flashed to a new ROM and everything is working well, but still looking to figure out how to properly set up my Voicemail on the Boost Mobile network....
And, I'd like to use a visual voicemail service. If there's any quick links or videos on how I can easily set this up on my Android phone, please pass along!!!
Thanks.
