RUU is a "Radio Unit Upgrade" RUU is the name of the upgrade package for the OS ROM, It comes as a desktop Windows installer that holds both the ROM image and the software needed to get that image from your desktop PC to the Wallaby
But please forget this name, it is confusing because it upgrades the Radio Rom & the OS ROM, or only one of them!

dont know I dont have a hero, but maybe you can find the custom ruu updater from someone in the forum! try searching for a "windows RUU" try one that lets you run the hero.img im sure one is out there!
we indeed do have a problem here cause the file is in zip format. so far havent seen any RUU for the hero. guess will have to wait till morning for the chefs to help us out .

yes. thanks but that was not what i meant. i meant that it was not in the expected .exe format like the custom htc roms. tried to rename to update.zip and to apply through recovery mode but didnt work. any other ideas?

I have an unbranded version and tried flashing it with the official RUU (by renaming the zip to rom.zip), but getting a wrong vendor ID message :-(
I'm planning to install the official rom on a rooted HTC Desire currently running MIUI, but I'm not sure I've got the backup file i made before installing MIUI.
Is there a file I can download, which will install the rom? It's bought in Norway and is a AMOLED version. I'm not sure about the model name since I don't have the phone here right now.
I've copied all content from SD to my computer, and there is a folder called "backup". Is my backup file in there somewhere? What kind of file, or name, am I looking for?

WWE is the main one that Europe and English speaking countries use. Unless the handset is branded to a carrier.

Thanks. By installing one of those ROMs mentioned before will I have to unlock the phone again? Or will it still be S-off and I will just have to download superuser? Or something else?
If you need the newest rom just run official RUU for 2.3.3 you can find on HTC.dev, it will work with all versions. You need stock hboot and you will loose root, but it,s easy to get with revolutionary.

I already try it, but its said wrong HBOOT.
Before this my software version is this 1.58.707.3, and then i update to the latest version OTA 2.09.707.1, after that I root it and suddenly everything went wrong, my WIFI cannot work.
The link that you gave me is not the one, my RUU should have SEA ASIA WWE and not ASIA WWE, i tried before, but cannot be done, do you have any other suggestions???...pleasee...:crying::crying:

contact football (the guy who made the thread) and he should be able to get you the RUU you need....it MIGHT cost you £ to get it...say to him you need the following
SEA ASIA WWE 2.09.707.1 RUU

*facepalms* it wont work because his HBOOT was updated, the RUU does a HBOOT check regardless of being in fastboot usb or not, i know this 1st hand

okay, every day someone learns a new thing
If it just wifi problem and your bootloader is unlocked, what you need is to fastboot flash the boot.img for 2.09.707.1. If you need the modules too, let me know, I'll make a flashable zip for that.
And 2.09.707.1 RUU is Asia WWE, not Asia SEA WWE.

Have you tried to fastboot flash the boot.img ? If it work then you don't need the modules.
Anyway, here it is the modules for 2.09.707.1
Flash it the CWM recovery.

Kernel "modules" are part of the kernel and will be loaded from the kernel
for specific features e.g. device drivers.

I downloaded this firmware, from another china site (10 hours download))), but when I ran the *.Bat, they wrote that the signatures are not valid.
I can put on another file sharing, but I doubt that it will help ... (((

I'm not sure if this helps but I have OTA 2.17.708.7 update, which I think could be used after applying RUU 1.29.708.7
you can download (I have copy also) RUU 1.29.708.9 from link below and use my OTA for update to 2.17.708.7

replace above (1111 = http) and (222 = www)

I'm uploading RUU 1.29.708.15 (you can extract stock recovery from this)
I'm uploading OTA 2.17.708.7 (to apply after RUU 1.29.708.15)
this approach worked for me and should work you.
I will post again later when uploads have finished. (probably in couple hours)

I think 2.17.708.7 ruu for HTC__622 hasn't been leaked yet, and you cannot downgrade using 1.29 ruu.

RUU_PRIMO_U_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.22.707.2_R adio _20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.120_release_274703_signed.exe is the correct RUU but you run it wrong.
1. Relock bootloader
2. Run RUU
and all done in fastboot mode.

sir know i did what you said now my device is relocked but when i try to run ruu as admin " RUU_PRIMO_U_ICS_40A_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.22.707.2_Radio_20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.120_release_274703_signed.exe" the main screen is not showing i also did to use compatibility still the same issue it not running i dont know what to do next pls help
Re-download the RUU as maybe the file is corrupted.

3. The best bet that you can do is : Stock 2.24.707.1 ROM and Recovery with Aroma Installer
