Random restarts - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all,
My Wildfire is a year and a half old.
About a half a year ago,I overclocked it.
Since then,It started restarting randomly,2-3 times a day.
Formatting the SD-Card didn't help,and flashing latest CM7.2 did not help.
Is it a hardware issue,and a time to move on to something more powerful?(like the Sony Xperia Sola)
Is there any app that can monitor these restarts?
Thanks in advance,
Yohai.

for all roms which u had y have restarts?

Yep.
I had the Galaxy Nexus rom,which is based on CM7.2 RC1,also had CM7.0.3,and now CM7.2.
It's because of the bloody OC.
Even though I cancelled it,the problem persists.
I think it's a hardware problem.
What do you think?

Try to flash sense based rom like rem rom, if it won't work then try to flash ruu, and give willy for proffesionalists

As drewniany92 has said try make a back up and then flash a sense rom and see if it helps, but by over clocking the CPU you may have damaged it to be honest. How high did you have it? And how low have you clocked it since the reboots?
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium

he cannot damage cpu because all of the kernels have now lock to 768 or max 788 like nfinity. to dagage cpu hou have to overclock on minimum 840 i think :3

depends on how old his old rom was. if it was old enough then it coulld easily oc over that.

sadly i never got it working with any version of splashmod.
Well, i totally agree that splashmod was a great rom, but the fact that it got discontinued kinda fells like it is out dated. For now, and according to my experience, CM 7.2 is the fastest and most stable rom for our Wildfire. I'm using it and it is for sure an every day ROM.
as i said, try cm 7,2 stable, install launcher pro plus, delete adw, install some tweaks like juwe ram optimisation, make ext partitions, and try nfinityplay kernel, and it will be very fast (;
Taptapped from my little killer iPod 4G (;
So this is the list so far:
- CyanogenMod 7
- Ligux 8.1
- lastet version of cm 7.2 and ics style by JM for me
- Try Splashmod v2.0. The fastest rom i have ever seen for Htc Wildfire
- ligux gb
- lewa os
- splashmod :3
...most of the time no arguments except:
"as i said, try cm 7,2 stable, install launcher pro plus, delete adw, install some tweaks like juwe ram optimisation, make ext partitions, and try nfinityplay kernel, and it will be very fast (;"
So I cannot go wrong using this for my son and wife (It´s a must that it works :silly, right? But all the details/argument are not realy for beginners to understand. Maybe you have some explanations and Links to this stuff.
all oc those roms are in wildfire development section. also all are stable enough for daily use and are fast roms because some of them are still developed like cm 7,2 and some are discontinued like splashmod or ics style by jm. imo try to install cm 7.2 with release date 15 june. i use it for a long ti e and never had problems with it. after deleting stock adw and installing launcher pro plus, juwe ram optimalisation and do e ext partitionsit is the fastest rom with gingerbread on board. i prefer to set cpu between 176 and 729 mhz with smartass governor. for me it is best setting (;and what is more it is still developed but some lastest versions had problems with gps as sbd told on other forum. u can download cm 7,2 both from xda and officialcyanogenmod site. give a try and let us know if it satisfied you (;

Thank you ...will last some time till I have time for my sons phone. But I will try for sure.

I have made a 500 ext3-partition to get more internal memory for apps (that cannot be moved to sd-card). But the script a have installed doesn´t mount this partition (but titanium backup shows it).
It's Cyanogenmod 7.2(Stable),hands down.

[SOLVED] Best Rom in terms of battery life?

Need a serious suggestion about the best rom in term of Battery life.
I've tried various roms such as minicm9, cm7.2, kwbr, Normal cm9, ligux cm9 and parandroid but still can't figure out which has less battery drainage.
I really like ligux coz its smooth and fast but it's battery doesn't even lasts a day. What should i do ?
Or any script which can help?

I use Ligux and also experience battery problems... i've heard about Mokee , rem puzzle and Lewao but haven't tried that yet.
Have u tried stable cm7.2 ? Its battery life is better.

Doesnt the battery life depend upon the kernel? I mean there is no need to flash a new rom you can just flash a new kernel
Whoa !!
Never heard of this before. I've never flashed a new kernel really. Infact i don't even overclock my phone.

[q] Which rom is better - NXT ICS vs stock GB

Hello. I thinking about rom changing. I have 2.3.4 stock rom with doom kernel and I thinking about change for NXT ICS. I really think about ics because Zen pinball is now open for other phones than nvidia tegra but requires ICS. I read many topics and I think that could be the best for me. But I have some questions - all emulators works fine with this rom? In 90% I'm playing emulators - rest are board games (like Catan or Carcassonne). Do you think it is a good idea to change rom for NXT ICS with doomkernel? Thanks for all answers!

It depends on what you want to use the rom for. If you are a hardcore gamer I recommend you stay with stock but if you don't play a lot of high detailed games then the NXT ics do just fine. Ics also comes with some cool features, so you can flash the NXT ics.
Feel free to P.M me about any problem

(Q) What would be the best ROM to put on a wildfire i will give away?

So as i'm preparing to move on to a new device, i don't want my wildfires to gather dust somewhere until i throw them away, so i'm planning on giving them to some of my friends. There is, however, still a problem: what ROM do i put on these phones? It might be the last time i can flash one on there, and I want them to have the best experience possible with it, without them being able to do much wrong if they behave with some common sense...
Any suggestions?

Suggest you to get the newest Cyanogenmod 7.2
Use custom MTD to get most internal space.
And install SetCPU and OC to 768-176 SmartassV2

I'll check that out with one soon, thanks! I myself use ICS based roms only, but CM7.2 might indeed be a bit better for the less tech savvy
If anything just flash a sense ROM like kwbr or rempuzzle they are smooth and user friendly.

[Q] IS all development is stopped ?

well this is question that haunt all people out here. i am asking people that is all the development is now halted for our willy. ? i am not developer but i am asking why is so ... i mean i know willy don't have GPU. well this thing is there is right from the past. but people are still manage to get 4.0 and manged to make it working properly.. And is development is stopped because we don't have kernel 3 for our willy ? will kernel 3 ever be able to get compiled for this little buddy ???
i don't know, maybe someone will compile new kernel (; but there are ics roms which have no bugs at all. did you try wasimk's aokp or jordfaz's mini cm9? they work great and i didn't noticed any bugs we still have some development but it isn't as high as a year or two years ago. just take a look into ultrabeam series (; stone.cold is often updating his rom (;

Yes for the moment, all the developpement are stopped , as there is no more a big team of dev.
I ave make some personal port of gb rom, and they work like nexus me kikat edition, so i will upload them if i have some free time.
That would be great..
