I am having all kinds of issues with my battery. The device says my battery is in good health and 100% charged but if I'm using my EVo for anything, texting, phone calls, internet, or just moving apps around and I'm not plugged in it dies out when the battery reads around 65-70 percent! Then when i reboot the battery reads 0%! I've tried charging it until it reads 100% and calibrating but that didn't work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Running decks 1.3 with tiamat 3.3.7 SBC+ kernel and vipermod at -50.

Honestly that's a lie, please point to any evidence of this happening. I've used SBC kernels on my phone since I got it and never had an issue.
1. Have you tried a new battery or a different one?
2. Did you try a new kernel?
My guess is battery with the symptoms your describing.

Thanks. I will try a new battery and see if that is it. Just thought it was possibly something else since the device is telling me the battery's health is good. Ill keep ya posted. Lol, if it doesn't work ill definitely be back for more advice!

Currently running a SBC kernel on Deck's Reloaded with zero issues. Have never read of any issues with SBC kernels, for that matter.

Ever since SBC kernels have come out you have had people on both sides. I've heard of one instance of a problem with SBC but it was said that the battery might have had a crack in it and moisture got in, but we will never know.

Your on a sense rom? If so try out Chad's kernels. There in the dev section.

Well I was using incROM and was having messaging issue so I'm going to retry it later this week
Right now I'm using Skyraider Athena 1.2 and i just put KingxKernel cfs #4 on
We'll see how it goes
How does Chad's compare with battery life? Basically I'm looking for the best battery life with without slowing my phone down, I'm sick of getting 4-8 hours out of my phone when there are people claiming to get 24-80 hours.
King made Sense and AOSP kernels specific the the DInc.
AOSP won't run on Sense, and vice-versa.
King's site tells you which are DInc specific, as well as whether they are AOSP or Sense.
I know I'm using the right kernel's
Even though his site is confusing as all hell, I just always here good things about his kernels so I'm trying #4 out for right now
did he stop updating his inc kernels?
Okay I'm using Ziggy now, way better haha

The front Camera should be working on RLS5. What hardware is your Evo? Maybe try a different kernel or something, but the front cam does work natively in RLS5
As for the battery, as jacoballen stated, I had better luck on pri 1.77 on Myn's rom. There are a million variable that can come into play when battery life is an issue however, and it could be a runaway app, your phone may not like the kernel you're using, it could be the PRI, you could have the 4g wake lock going on if you didn't reboot after shutting 4g off. Just a ton of things that can cause bad battery life. Just gotta rule them all out, one at a time.
Hmmmm. Mine isn't working either. Never looked at it when I flashed.
I was actually about to post about the battery drain myself. Ill try the PRI then go from there.

Use spare parts app to check partial wake usage. Anything that's more than a little sliver could be draining your battery.

Just an fyi, I just changed my kernel and it fixed my ffc not working.
Also downgraded the pri, we'll see if that helps the battery.
I just switched to an Evo from my Optimus V(best battery life ever) not too long ago. After countless days of unplugging my Evo and having 80% in 10 minutes, I was getting pissed and figured out that the kernel didn't support trickle charging.
So question is, what kernel can I use on stock 2.3 that supports trickle charging?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
There are not any at this point. The only SBC (trickle charge) kernels that are out are for aosp roms. For some reason the few kernel devs we have here despise SBC. We had one with froyo but since gingerbread hit there has been nothing
So they just deal with the battery loss? Ugh.

Ugh is right. Even with AOSP ROMs using SBC Kernels, battery life has gone way down hill since Gingerbread came out.
I hope they get this all straight with ICS

I just started using Anthrax so I can't really speak for it. My go to kernel is the Evo 4g Freedom-v0.9. I would link it... but XDA doesn't trust me yet . You can search the EVO forum or find it in the stickied Detailed ROM Wiki.
I second Freedom.
Freedom v9 is an amazing kernel, i am using the Energy rom, which comes with chopsuey baked in. I recently switched to the anthrax v004 kernel, and my rom is much snappier, and the my battery life almost doubled! my vote is for anthrax!
Im running anthrax with SET CPU set to 245/1036 and screen off profile 245/245 and interactiveX. Been off the charger since 8AM and am at 70% left. considering 10% is wasted when you take it off the charger right away, this isnt too bad...

MikRom thread - Anthrax kernel
This thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038967&page=1613)
will NOT let me reply due to lack of number of posts (very frustrating, but a bit understandable) but I was inquiring about the Anthrax kernel. I'm currently running More Freedom v0.9, and it's slowed down or become sluggish lately. I'm running MikG v2.5.
My two questions are:
will this Anthrax kernel help?
If so, does it also have Bluetooth HID capability? I have a new keyboard and finding a driver for Android is about impossible.
AND, I guess a third. Assuming it helps, how can I get it or where I can download?
Please apprise me if possible!
Thanks!
I think this may have something to do with your h boot. Scope out caulkins thread on radios, wimax, etc. Hope this helps

Thanks. However, I should have noted that this ran pretty well for a while. I've ordered new batteries that are on the way, thinking that the battery might be the culprit. It seems to wane quickly nowadays.
I did not want to leave my phone with the Sprint tech for 1.5 hours to pore through my phone while he did a diagnostics test. I just didn't feel comfortable doing that. He'd assuredly come back and tell me the phone was rooted, blah blah blah, warranty voided, nothing he could do and that's the reason it was sluggish.
After I moved to this it worked really well for about 3-4 months. The last two months it runs out of memory and the battery fades quickly. The only thing I can really point to perhaps is Tweetcaster. Seems to be a big drain on everything and there's no clean exit command for it, unlike other apps, so it runs all the friggin' time if you instantiate it.
As for Anthrax kernels, I've heard some people recommend "test 9".
Do most of you here recommend that as well?
I really need someone to pm me the anthrax kernel.
The test 9 version works amazing on my phone. I'm running mikg*3. 0

Before flashing the anthrax kernel you should wipe dalvik-cache, flash kernel, wipe dalvik-cache again, reboot, let phone sit 10 minutes, and then reboot again. Search xda for the kernel install information to make sure that you are installing it correctly. It's the best for my evo thus far and I have had no problems. It's baked into the shooter E3D rom. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Why is finding a decent Rom for the Evo4G with 4G so darn hard!!!!!
What makes the Evo/Android OS so hard to incorporate into Roms?
If their are any 2.3.5 + 4.67 +4 G Roms that are worth trying let me know!!!!!!!!!!

This behavior happens due to the way in which batteries are charged. It happens on many ROMs and kernels for the 1st 10%. What is important is what happens after that. If you want to avoid it entirely the only sure-fire is to use an SBC kernel.

That makes you completely ignorant for making that statement. Yes it is harmful in the long run, and they don't include it because of that and the things that can happen to that battery that cam cause the user harm.
