I have a verizon galaxy nexus (i515 i think is the name for it), can I use a screen / digitizer for a spring phone? looking to replace my broken screen myself.

I have a Verizon galaxy nexus that works but has a cracked screen. I also may be able to get a hold of a screen from the sprint galaxy nexus with the screen frame for pretty cheap. Does anyone know if the parts are compatible? I would tend to assume they are but wanted to see if anyone on here knew for sure. Thanks.
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S III (SGH-T999) that is in perfect working order except it has a cracked screen. I have access to a friend's no-longer-used Galaxy S III (former Verizon SCH-I535) with a mint-condition screen and I have also seen clean screens for sale very cheaply.
Is it reasonable to expect that I can swap a clean screent to my SGH-T999 without special equipment or service-center help?
Fwiw -I tried to change a screen (not on an s iii - it was a G1 with a slide out keyboard) and it did not go well - definitely not to be undertaken lightly - good luck.

If you replace only the glass it is a very difficult process which I tried and failed (had to buy an a full LCD assembly). But since you have a completely mint condition phone you can remove the entire LCD assembly which makes it a tad easier because it is more difficult to mess up. Trying to replace the glass means you can't damage the digitizer which is SUPER sensitive but replacing the entire assembly means you don't have to worry about keeping your digitizer protected.

If the Verizon digitizer is working, then just swap the digitizer with glass attached over to your T-Mobile. Removing just the glass has high risk of breaking it. It is a lot less effort to just buy one from eBay.
Hi All I was thinking of converting my screen broken S3 into a InDash car pc. SO I need 2 din/~7inch touch screen to attach to s3 instead of regular samsung s3 screen.
My doubt is if I buy something from ebay/amazon any other place, I'm not sure, if I'm going to get something compatible with s3. So anyone has idea of s3 lcd connectors please comment.
Well..After posting a thread a few days back about the display problem i was facing with my phone..It's now completely dead everything works fine except no display,It plays sound at startup even vibrate is responsive had bought this phone in USA currently in India,i've visited countless samsung service center they give me the same BS reason as parts not avalible so i wanted to ask you guys there's a way i could possibly fit i9300 LCD into i9305? and what does digitizer do? my Touch is responsive so would i need to buy both LCD and Digitizer or just teh LCD,i need it ASAP as i have my data in phone and it's locked so i can''t copy my data either, please need urgent help.
This forum is for the i747 and i747m version of the s3. You have the international version and there is a separate forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3
The digitizer is the glass on top of the LCD that senses touch. The LCD is what you can see on the phone's screen.
I recommend replacing the digitizer and screen together as the digitizer is bonded to the LCD.
It may not be so simple because it may not be the LCD that is defective. It could be the the phone's motherboard too.

Yeah,i figured that out, thanks btw i got a new s4 got it for cheaper price as its older model
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Free mobile app
Yeah, the cost of replacing the LCD and digitizer with a really OEM Samsung is expensive which is why I look for used phones with working screens.
I have two identical tablets ( galaxy tab s4)
The first tablet functions, but it's with broken Glass-Digitizer
the second tablet is with broken LCD Display, but the Glass-Digitizer is untouched.
Is it possible to take the glass digitizer from the tablet with broken lcd and put it on the other one
The digitizer and the AMOLED film is laminated together so unless you can remove the whole thing you shouldn't bother. Why not use the other one if it's working? Or is it because it's locked and stolen?

Firstly the devices aren't stolen or locked. I want to change the glass digitizer of the one that is working. I have no use to the other one, because the lcd display is broken and I don't plan on buying new lcd. I have changed tablet glass digitizer before. My question was if I put the glass digitizer of the broken one to the one that is working. New glass digitizers are sticky when you pull of the tape.
