Who will be your service carrier? We will need to know first.
I ll go with orange... i understand that it uses the 900mhz band for 3g! Sovit won t work?
You should look up their 3g bands and compare to our phone.. i think our phone is quadband so pretty high chance of having 3g
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Pretty low chance of having 3G service on a U.S. phone, if they use Band VIII (900Mhz). Neither the T999 or the i747 support that band for UMTS. You are better off with the international version.
I was able to use it with globul when i went for a trip to bulgaria.

You should check which Orange you're going to be on. I see that it either uses 900 or 2100 depending where you're at.

Hey guys i bought the Samsung Galaxy S II from T-Mobile thinking that has HSPA+ bands I, IV and V.. like the box and website says.
Here we use HSPA+ band V (850) so, i inserted my sim card but i only pick 3G bands ( HSDPA )
Checking the bands that the phone has using *#2263# i noticed that i have WCDMA, GSM but also i have LTE bands ...
I never heard that T-Mobile Galaxy S II has LTE bands..
Any ideas why it says LTE instead of HSPA+?
YES, I WAS RIGHT! Samsung was to lazy to change the modem between the skyrocket and the T-Mo SGSII, so if you flashed one of our modems, you'd technically have a functional LTE radio.
Wow, this is crazy!

You'd have to flash a Skyrocket radio, because when I was using a T-Mobile radio, it wouldn't connect to LTE.
But that means, if I'm right, the Skyrocket and T-Mo SGS II have support for 850, 900, 1700, 1900, and 2100 HSPA+.... that's a pentaband phone.
****. YES.
Go ahead and try it folks.

Your talking about the post merger agreement right? It just may... and those of us on T-Mobile may be able to hijack Lte once the agreements are in place lol.
Its cool how there are so many similarities between the two phones. They are almost identical which is great for developement.

Yeah, but I don't think AT&T would allow another carrier to roam on a very new LTE network, especially when they don't even have 10% of their own customers on the network.
And it's really cool, because they are the same phone. xD
Although, I don't know why our accelerometer is flipped.

Could be, but with the short amount of time between release of the 2 phones, Samsung must have developed 2 phones, same hardware, flipped the accelerometer in one, and branded one AT&T, and the other T-Mobile.
Gotta say, that's a great way to save with development.

maybe you are right. i just bought this phone so, its probably the new version.. however.. here in peru where i am at, we use HSPA+ 850 but i cant pick that signal .. only 3G ( HSDPA ).. so means, TMO SGS II is penta 3G band but only One band HSPA+ ?

No, try this.
Go to the skyrocket forums, find the radio thread, and flash one of those modems.
If I'm right, it should kick on the 850MHz portion of the radio

Even if u have hspa+ it will say 3g on this phone because ur carrier may only be supporting 21mbps and not 42. You probably are getting hspa+ speeds but ur phone just shows it as 3g

Theoretically it should work. Lol, an ode to the original vibrant, sometimes their laziness pays off! I've noticed the sensation has LTE mentioned also. Haven't dug if it but I wonder if it actuall does support LTE ? If I'm not mistaken LTE uses AWS protocol right?

Hi guys,
I'm wondering should i go for the HSPA+ on the galaxy note 2, since i hear it's more battery friendly ?
Dose the Galaxy note 2 international version support HSPA+ 1700 ? and LTE ? i really tried to figure out the differences but i couldn't.
I'm using my simple mobile in Austin, TX and they are pretty cheap and offer HSPA+ 1700, which i'm willing to go for and trade LTE for battery. is this a good idea?
Your thoughts about the white vs gray ? ,, gray looks cool
im in the us, which is a good site to order from? ,, should i buy or is it wiser to wait?
Thank you guys in advance and please help
Fellow Austinite here also excited for the Note II! I'm gonna wait for the T-Mobile version. It's going to have support for their HSPA+ network and is future proofed with LTE when T-Mobile starts deploying that, so you should be able to choose which radio you want on.
From an article I read several weeks back when the TMobile Note2 was first leaked, the TMobile version will only support HSPA+. It won't even support TMobile's LTE, when the get around to building it. So I'm waiting to see if the ATT version will cover TMobile's frequencies or how modem flashing works out.

According to FCC
The note II on t-mobile WILL support their LTE and it will be future proof.

Get the HSPA+. It is more battery friendly like you said, and HSPA+ is actually comparable to LTE.
LTE has its MAJOR benefits. I love LTE but right now, I'm gonna jump on the HSPA int'l version first.
Guess I'm waiting for the TMobile one. Also curious how flashable the modem is. It would be nice is the differences between all the phones was only a flash.

Hi All,
I am using a N7105 on Bell Canada network. Seem my phone only max. on HSPA+ not LTE. Base on I am reading some information from internet. Bell is using 1700/2100/2600 Mhz for LTE. My phone only able pick up LTE 800/1800/2600 Mhz. My question is shouldn't my phone work on Bell LTE network on 2600 Mhz?? Also does anyone out there use N7105 and able to use LTE on Rogers/Bell/Telus???
Thanks
PC
wow really no one use N7105 in Canada???
It will work but generally performance would be poor inside buildings or in areas of interference, due to having only one compatible band instead of two.

This is stupid they don't follow the other country
So which model name/number is the Canadian Bell one? I'm thinking of buying one in Calgary, but I wanted to monitor ROM development before I got one, so which forum should I follow for the Canadian one? I just guessed it was an N7105, but apparently it's not!
Edit: Nevermind, found it on Wikipedia. It's SGH-i317M and seems roughly same as AT&T, I guess I'll go to that forum!
Although I don't know anyone that has a N7105 on LTE in Canada, I've seen people use LTE with a I9305 (with the same LTE bands as the N7105) in Vancouver at least, so technically your phone should work. It may be that your area doesn't have the 2600Mhz spectrum.

Ah so i called Bell they told me they have 2600 Mhz but you never know. Cause Bell tech. support sucks
N7105 supports 2600 mhz radio frequency, but a respective modem file need to be flashed for it to work on LTE network.
I had Note LTE i717 which supported 1700mhz lte of Rogers, and yes it worked with wind and T-mobile network using 1700 mhz frequency only after flashing tmobile modem.

Lte will not work out of box, unless some developer gets you modem file which can make your N7105 to recognize 2600mhz as Bell LTE.

Yeah me too hate .....I was in long dilemma to buy N7105 , but when I found this then i just bought it outright from Rogers.
Also to let you know that even after flashing 2600mhz to work as lte radio, you will only get lte in 2600mhz lte available areas only, bcoz lte in NA fluctuates many frequencies from 700/1700/1900/2100/2600.
Good luck and enjoy your Note2.

I just bought a N7105 international version from Hong Kong and yes it work on Rogers here in Vancouver. Make sure you get a LTE compatible SIM card. My old SIM card did not compatible with LTE so I only got H+ or 3G. Now I changed and I am on 4G.
The reception is only 2 bars most of the time though. Sometime I got 4 bars. I tried data speed using Speedtest.net and still got at max 52Mbps DOWN and 34Mbps UP even I am at 2 bars so I guess it isn't too bad.

Sorry, but it's not going to work with this phone.
Orange Dominicana uses the 900 band frequency for 3g (WCDMA). On this phone that band is locked for being used with 2g (GSM). That's why you're getting Edge.
Unfortunately, the T-Mobile version of this phone also locked the 900 band for GSM. That means the NV data hack won't work for you either.
Sorry. Hope that explains it, and I hope they at least launch LTE service on a compatible band for you.
