just that you should use s2e(cm9) or another ext-move app to move it to the external partition on your sd card

first wipe/factory reset everything.
if u don't wanna use your sd-ext again just repartition your sd card. if u wanna use your sd-ext again, after flashing ics, before the first use, just download and flash this: View attachment ad2sdx.zip
hope this helps

[Q] InsertCoin hangs on wallpaper

I have a problem with InsertCoin A2SD+ 1.0.8. After flashing everything seems OK but it shows me Desire's default wallpaper and then.. nothing. Nothing happens. Can't see the buttons etc only wallpaper and top status bar. I flashed it 2 times already and still nothing. Of course I wiped all data/cache.
This may have something to do with S-OFF?
SD Card
2.5 GB FAT32
1 GB EXT3
~100 MB EXT3
~100 MB SWAP
Your SD card partitions are not appropriate. You need two partitions: fat32 for you stuff and 1gb ext2/3/4 for apps, both primary. Nothing more, like third partition or swap.
Right after I wrote first post I changed partitions on SD card to ~2.80 GB FAT223 and 1GB EXT4 both primary, wiping, flashing and STILL ALL THE SAME
Hm.. Then?
- Do you have the correct hboot?
- Did you wipe Dalvik as well?
- Maybe a corrupt download?
I'm out of ideas.

Nope, I downloaded it 2 times.
I wouldn't use ROM manager for things like this. Try wiping/flashing manually, in recovery. ROM manager likes to cause problems to users.

Rom manager is a really bad software. Better use gparted.
are you following correct order for partition??
1st fat 32
2nd ext 3/4
if you have windows then try partitioning with some software like easus partition manager..also order is very important
also see to it tht you are downloading the rom for stock hboot..the rom is available for stock hboot and cm7 hboot

Do you use the recoomended radio? 5.17.05.23?
You can download from here.
This one is recommended.
I remember my friend flashed this rom with and older radio and he got bootlops/hangs - flashed the latest one and it worked.

couple questions on partitioning

I am using energy 3.5 sense rom with an anthrax kernel. I just got my new 32gb sd card and have been looking into partitioning it. I tried once and couldnt seem to find the ext2 folder. I put my 8gb card back in. I have done some looking into it some and am wondering what is the best way to partition with clockworkmod? after i do get my sd card partitioned do i have to reflash the rom and kernel? I read it in a tutorial but was wondering if it was essential. Also, if i go to AmonRa 2.3 where can i find it? i can never seem to find where to download it.
Thanks guys im still trying to learn.
Here's the Amon-RA recovery which you can still flash CWM recoveries if you choose to http://www.mediafire.com/?6eo9jo7fdazp2 you may also want to read this thread on partitioning your SD card http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386911

Yep, Moreno is dead on the money. I partitioned mine with Amon-Ra and had zero problems. Of course, then I accidently wiped my SD Card while doing a flash and had to start over. Make sure you use Dark Tremors Apps2SD after installing your ROM to take full advantage of your partition (but you probably already knew that!).

is it true that after partitioning your sdcard that older nandroids you have from where the sdcard was not partitioned cant be used without causing some issues?
It shouldn't be a problem... I believe I have seen that question before and the dev kinda of covered that with this recovery, he actually did a fantastic job so to be honest you won't have any issues as far as that, it still should do the trick.
Ok thanks. Was also wondering if it's necessary to do a fresh download/install of all apps from the market?

V. Little Storage Space

Hi, I have a problem where the phone only allows me to install about four 3-4mb apps before is says 'storage space is running low'. This has been the case for a long time over many roms.
Tried with and without an 1gb ext4 partition on a 16gb and 32gb memory card. Roms tried include most ICS, JB 4.1 and JB 4.2. Have also tried with a2sd and without. Result: no changes.
Am currently on Nikez's 4.2 roms.
I hope there is a solution...
Thanks

About 100mb - but it gets 'used up' with about 20mb. I am s-off, stock hboot. Is there a way to completely return it to factory settings so i can start over again. Factory resetting doesnt help the problem, nor does swapping sd cards

Exactly after flashing the rom, flash this:
http://db.tt/m4sQLDOI
It should get you a lot more space by also moving dalvik cache to sd-ext (no need for terminal commands anymore)

My sd card is currently not partitioned, and i don't really want to re partition it. Is there any way to fix this without partitioning sd card. I have previously tried a similar file to the one you posted, and it allowed more apps to be installed but still not as many as was used to
Edit: Having seen your sig, i read the how to partition guide, and I used the 4ext recovery method. Is it possible to remove and then recreate a partition from that recovery?

no effect when you flash from SD card or External SD card , the effect come when you flash rom over another rom so you have to go pristine .. you can find pristine way in this thread link http://goo.gl/nleJk

[Q] continuous reboots after flashing AOKP 4.2.2

I'm having trouble running AOKP on my phone. After wiping and flashing the ROM then Gapps the phone continues to reboot. Is there anything else that should be done?
Make sure you wipe all caches ams ext partition. Also male sure that you used the correct gapps. I know if you use the wrong gapps it will bootloop.
Are you s-off or just htc-dev unlocked?

You will need an ext4 partition for the a2sd and it will need to be a clean flash too cause I'm on it now and I dirty flashed into no WiFi. So partition sdcard and clean flash.

Thank you very much for providing that link. Would you recommend to follow the partitioning scheme in that link or use different partition sizes? Should the remaining partition stay at Ext3 or updated to Ext4?

I'd use 0 swap, 1048 ext and remainder fat. Afterward upgrade to 3 then upgrade to 4 yes.
