Try this
Try the following:
1) Turn off GPS
2) Clean Google Maps cache data.
3) Install GPS Test APK from Google Play
4) Turn on GPS
5) Run GPS Test and Clear AGPS data: (Menu, Settings, Clear AGPS)
6) Reboot phone (turn off and turn on phone)
7) Turn on GPS
8) Run GPS Test and reload AGPS data over WiFi or cell data: (Menu, Settings, Update AGPS)
9) Go to an open area and see if satellites are found and location obtained (in GPS Test).
I did this in my P350 and now it is OK.
Please post your results here.

Hi,
have you tried GPS Status & Toolbox from Eclipsim (sorry can't yet post links)
It let's you view agps status and manually download/manage agps data.
If you don't have recent agps data on your phone GPS cold start can take several minutes. When you download agps data, GPS can get position in less than a minute.
You also maybe need to allow mobile data to get agps data.

[Q] GPS problem

Hello, I have a gps problem. I installed RunnyDroid 5. I have this radio:12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
can someone help me troubleshoot my gps problem. I can not get a gps fix at all...
Should I change the radio???
Try installing/configuring FasterFix first. My DHD took absolutely forever to lock on and some days not at all until I installed it.
If the problem persists then yeah I would suggest trying a newer radio.
My gps stops working every couple of weeks, I then use gps status & toolbox to clear and redownload A-GPS data. After that it works fine again.
GPS status & toolbox does help.
It can download latest almanac and ephemeris data to help fixing faster.
Or try using GPS in a good condition where there is no tall buildings or trees. Once you successfully locked GPS for one time, it would be MUCH FASTER to lock again even in worse condition.
Sometimes (when even gps-status isn't working) it helps to clear A-gps data, reboot, clear it again and then redownload A-gps data.

GPS not work at ICS rom

First:
remove GPS fix and another gps helpers.
Second:
install AGPS patch (I've used 3.1 no SSL) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252011
Third:
after you've flashed go to a nice place outside and test it ... (open sky )
Notes:
I only use Satellite position so getting position using wi-fi and other data providers are disabled.
Be sure to enable internal GPS in your positioning (Location services->GPS source-> internal GPS.
Hope it helps... as it solved my gps problems.
I had similar problems and found that my GPS sensor was not working correctly. I was able to fix it my opening the GPS antenna cover behind the flash lights and cleaning the copper contact plates.
Now it is working like a charm.
But be careful! You can easily break the contacts...

I've only tested on 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4 Ice Cold Sandwich but you can try and tell everyone if it works on other ICS builds!

Problems with GPS and navigation

I have been flashing ROMs on my SGS3 for about 3 months now and I have recently ran into an issue where I can't get my GPS to lock on when I use navigation or anything for that matter. I want to fix this but I don't know where to start. I tried some things that others have told me like: like flashing back to stock, unrooting, and using GPS status to fix it but it still won't work. If someone could help, I'd appreciate it, thanks.

i had the same problem with gps. go to settings - location access- and make sure its on, gps satellites and wifi/mobile network are checked . GPS source should be "use internal GPS". after that stay in settings and go to accounts- google-location settings- "let Google apps access your location" set to on. i hope this helps

Is there a way to check what app is trying to use gps?

Up until last week my gps would lock quickly and would not show up in the notification bar unless I was running an app that requires location services
Now gps is constantly searching for a gps signal and it takes a lot longer for the gps to lock
Is there anything I can use to see what is trying to use a gps signal? I've tried closing out of my process but it keeps going. I've tried restarting my phone and while it seems to work a few minutes later it's back

try this:
In settings, turn developer options off if it's on
Turn GPS and everything is location and services (in settings) off
Go into google services framework in applications, settings, and clear data
Go into maps, delete updates if any and clear data aswell
Reboot the phone
Update google maps (very important)
Reboot
Turn on GPS and everything in location and services in settings
what version of android are you running? recently update to JB?
Sometimes GPS status app works for me or try the above posted method as it almost always works
