Zedge is great, but another option would be to edit your own music files with Audacity (if you want music).
Zedge ... Or like me as always make my own ringtones using sound forge
Zedge for new ring tones but if you want your part of your mp3s get ringdroid to make ring tones as well

Zedge all the way.

download egdez from the Play Store.
Audiko.net is one of the best to me. Even has different cuts of popular song already prepped for ringtone.

Yet another vote for zedge - been using it for at least a year now. Has tons of the popular tunes to use - everything from star wars to old stuff like A-Team etc plus lets not forget TV series and music of course.
theres a ringtone that i heard in the movie, 'Die Another Day', where james bond picks up the phone when it rings.. thats the ringtone i want. but how can i get it?

You have to be careful with the music download apps on the market. A lot of them are borderline spyware. I use beemp3.com through the browser. It redirects to a pretty solid mobile mp3 download site.

Forgot to mention, if you use the site, click and hold, then use click to save to download. If you just click the download link it just plays it in the browser.

I use musicbox. Seems to work fine. I havent had any issues with the songs i've downloaded and my default music player has them loaded in its library. Only thing I wish it would do is find the album art and let me edit the title, artist, album info, etc...if there's an app out there that lets me do that AND its FREE I would be all for it

You should be able to use any music you have as ringtones ....
as far as if you want to shorten them or just take segments out ... just google for an audio editor ... Phone should support .mp3 .wav and .oog natively.
If you add new ones, they may not show up until you either force a re-scan of media , or just reboot the phone ...

I remember that being a massive battery eater. Otherwise totally agree.
Never had it drain my battery any more than any application that streams data while in use. It does use more power than keeping songs on your phone but never was a battery drain on any of my devices. The new software definitely is smoother though.

I had it install apps on my homescreen. What a pain in the ass. Took me a couple of days to find out what the hell was installing apps, they would just appear out of no where. I was also getting ads in the notification bar. This was on my SG2 so maybe something is different with SG3.
haven't seen anyone mention this one yet but I use TinyShark Downloader... it downloads songs in mp3 format from groove shark and works really well. I don't think there are any ads but I use ad free so it might but I don't see them.there's also a version to stream instead of download. the download version is not on the market anymore (due to copyright issues maybe?)

Yall r asking to get this thread closed by suggesting pirate apps lol. Cuz u know someone will be dumb enough to post a link sooner or later. But in reference to the OP i use doods music streamer which syncs with my grooveshshark acct. It lets me download "offline" music so i dont have to be connected to a network to listen but the files are proprietary to the app itself so i cant transfer to a cd or make copies which would make it illegal. Has built in eq and playlist support.

Honestly I think they both suck but if I had to choose between those two it would be Apollo. Google music caches random things I never asked it to and doesn't cache what I want it to. I use doubletwist.
BOTH

That's not what was asked... apollo or google play or gtfo... I don't like either, but apollo sucks way less than google play music.....
Google play music, just because of the cloud (only on wifi, not 3g) and the default settings are perfect for car audio. I've played with the Apollo just couldn't find anything that makes it stand out from the abundance of music players on the market.

Apollo is garbage, I was just giving another suggestion because they are obviously not the only music apps. Gtfo? Ok
I use Apollo with the Black theme. I can't say I love it, but it plays music and has the "Hold volume UP to skip" feature... which is really all I need (I use Shuffle All while jogging and it's nice being able to skip a song I dont want to hear without needing to even look at my phone). Last time I checked the Volume UP skip didn't work with Play Music.
I do wish Apollo would get an update with more features, neater UI, and do better with album art.

If it's only used for cloud then it's ok. I live out west so when I leave urban areas service its spotty so I have to have music on the phone as well. Google music doesn't cache what I tell it to. It just caches random things so because of that I say it sucks.
Power amp could be good. It has a lot of features but the interface sucks.
you save music for offline mode before you leave the house. Google Music because of the free cloud service.
