If I have an unlocked HTC One V from Telus, but am currently using it on the Rogers network, would it be considered Primo C or U?

Primo C = CDMA
Primo U = GSM
simcard = gsm\primou
no sim = cdma\primoc

Hi
Is it possible that I can change from model A8181 to A8182 via Software
Want use my european HTC Desire in Canada on Bell network
Please help me
ng xeno
My Desire (A8181) is now reported as a Desire HD (A9191) in the "About Phone" after flashing a Desire HD ROM. However, the model is still listed as "bravo" in some of Properties screen (e.g. in Quick System Info Pro).
I doubt it is possible. You can use your phone on the bell network you just wont get 3G.
I have used my UK HTC Desire on a Fido SIM with no problems. However, as Fido do not allow a data plan on a pre-pay SIM with a non-Fido supplied phone, I cannot tell if mobile data would work.

even if you could change the model number with software, it would be futile, you would still have a A8181 desire, so any H/W limitations with us networks would remain
hi,
Bravo & Brovo c whats the difference?
Bravo is the 'normal' GSM Desire which requires a SIM card to work
Bravo C is the CDMA Desire which is locked to a single provider and doesn't use a SIM card

Also, CDMA = USA and GSM = Europe. Not sure what the rest of the world use - GSM I think?
(Ok, I stand corrected following the below posts )

This is the right answer I presume.

The US had GSM, and China, Japan, and Korea have CDMA (and they have GSM).

CDMA=PrimoC, WCDMA(GSM)=PrimoU. U can check at Settings/Mobile Network/Network Mode.
Just got my HTC One V:good:, and have a few questions.
-I bought it in the Middle East (UAE to be precise) but plan to use it in Canada, so is this the Primo-C or Primo-U model? Yes it is unlocked so any carrier will work. And it isn't the duel sim model.
-I plan to root soon, is their a stock ICS ROM?
-Is there anyway to remove HTC Sense without rooting?
Thanks in advance.
Primo U is for gsm/simcard
Primo C is for cdma/inject msisdn
Primo DS is for dual sim/gsm & cdma

Stock RUUs: http://www.filefactory.com/f/0eafb9c43276c308/

Not sure about removing HTC Sense without rooting.
Thanks!
But could you explain what RUUs, and cdma/inject msisdn are?
RUUs are just the stock updates.
I haven't had a CDMA phone in a while, so just check your bootloader, it'll mention Primo edition there. Turn off phone and hold Power+VolumeDown for a few seconds.

CDMA/Inject msisdn refers to using no simcard...
To check your current kernel & whether you're using primou, primoc or primods, just go to:
Settings > About > Software information > more

By stick ICS ROM, if you mean the stock version if ICS, then cm9 is available! Check in fhd android development section..

Hi Guys,
I bought a new HTC one V CDMA ( Virgin Mobile) recently.
I have a set of questions, please answer them.
I wanted to know the difference between the Virgin mobile version and the other listed PrimoC version.?
I am seeing many custom roms listed for the PrimoC version? ...
What will happen if i flash them on to my Virgin Mobile phone...
Also i want to activate the phone on Reliance CDMA india , if you have a procedure to do it let me know.
Whats the default SPC of the phone ? . whats the procedure to change the SPC if required.
PrimoC is CDMA, PrimoU is GSM, Virgin Mobile's HTC One V is CDMA so you want PrimoC Roms not PrimoU.
