My friend threw her phone on charge for the whole night and woke up this morning to find her battery level low. This isn't the first time it happened either. What could cause this?

AT&T ? Maybe you should post your question in AT&T forum : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1572
As ckpv5 posted, you should probably post in the "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL" forum if you want better answers.
In this case though, I think it shouldn't differ. From what I've read regarding the HTC One X, overcharging is not an issue.

So, I've had my One X for a few days, and didn't think the battery was too bad - until I actually started using the phone.
Seriously, 95% charge got me through about 10 hours of general usage, wtf?
Any way to help this? I'm certain it's not faulty as my friends have similar results.

Hi I'm new to the x. How long are peoples phones lasting I got to charge least twice a day..bit of a joke lol
Any tips for the x

I have my X for 2 months now and on a stock rom i was charging it once per day, sometimes once per 2 days (that depended on how much i was ''playing'' with it).But when i was charging it I've tried to charge it for at least 8-9 hours.I always left it to charge through night and i had a phone for a whole day long. When you bought your X did you charge it for about 12 hours 2-3 times ? They told me at the shop where i bought it that i should do it-otherwise it wouldn't last for half of a day...Maybe that's the thing you didn't do ? Cheers
Don't know mate I traded my nexus for the x. Wouldn't know that kind of thing. I do charge her fully though. I know my nexus only needed one. Im running the x on 2 cores. WiFi not on when locked etc. Turned auto sync off. I dimmed the brightness a bit but like the one x screen so dont want to lower it to much. Might have to start turning it off of something when I don't need it

You aren't just playing with it a bit to much, since you got it recently? Otherwise, try installing ARHD Rom and Faux or Franco kernel.

rom
maybe ARHD can help
after installing this , it really increase the battery life
Not overly playing be honest.the shell and hardwares different but ROMs dont vary to much. I'll try arhd again maybe.

Try with a custom kernel also!

Try ARHD. I have it myself and the battery lives longer on my X than before
I always get about one day out of it (with tbalden's CM10 rom).
Try to run BetterBatteryStats to get a grip on what is consuming power! (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats)

On ARHD rom 7.22 with stock kernel, i can get about 4h screen on time with about 24-36 stanby time surfing, reading, twitter/fb and some navigation. Screen brightness is incredibly important, values are for brightness 20-30%.

battery sucks
ARHD rom 8.00 with stock kernel and Sense 4.1 looks like that there is better battery life.
I might try arhd.
On the off chance it would work I used a battery calibrator app (yes it doesn't always work)
It has made a difference though. I also discovered that even though the green led came on and the battery icon showed full it was actually only 91% charged. Thanks to the app I even noticed..

Yup, that's default for most ROMs. 90-100% battery results in a green light

Have HOX for one day, at first charge 26h on battery, 15% left and still running with wifi on, recent calls, sms, internet, camera. Played dead trigger about 15mins. Played with phone, set interface and all settings for personal usage, wached couple of youtube videos, played couple of songs via speaker, run 4 benchmarks (antutu ate 2%, quadrant 0%), surfed net, downloaded apps and so on..
Why the hell are u whining about the battery life. With that kind of a screen battery is great. Still did not pushed core fire to system/app. With little of optimization battery would last 2 days with medium usage. I mean what do you want?
Best experience for now, no complains at all. Had Galaxy S3, and it sucks compare to this. Looks ugly, feels ugly, Touchwiz feels ugly, why the f.uck u need SD if u have 32gb of free space + cloud .. i mean come on .. its a phone (if it had 128gb of memory and no SD slot there would be the same issue). Removable battery, i bet 1% of people have 2 or more batteries and those who need such a thing, are not buying phone quad core with 5" screen. What else? Screen got scratches, i dropped and it crashed .... Really?
There are bugs for some % of products, thats why there are warranty for god sake. On my personal experience i know only one perfect phone with absolutely no complains - Nokia 3310.
My advise, HOX! Go for it and do not listen for 95% of bull**** posted on the internet.
Its not whining its a statement mate.its fine now. There's no issue with finding out how people resolve it etc. I like my x. You never had a phone you were unsure of at first?
And yep the 3310 was bad ass I had three of them. No complaints either with that phone. Least we didnt spend so much time messing about it.

Havnt had the One X for that long but Iv realized that having a No-Sense Rom installed you can increase the battery life. I went from 2 times a day to just once a day. Of course Screen Brightness does play an important role as well.
Hi all, first post.
I'm not sure if its just me or is there no information available for this topic on xda or the web? Other networks yes but orange, no.
If anyone can shed some light on the proposed date for this I'd be very grateful.
Ps I did search xda and came up with a thread discussing the Nokia lumia.....?
Cheers.

Funnily they haven't replied to my 2nd tweet about that not surprising me with both orange & t-mob the 2 not to have released it and both being the 2 behind EE and that it looks like custom is the best option.

I have posted this in Q&A twice and no help, so forgive me for wrong section.
My One X has a very weird issue that no matter what I can't find anyone who has it. It has a screen flex on the right side, but if I press on the side or something else does, the phone shuts off. The only way to turn it on after this is to plug it into the wall. HTC wouldn't take it because of the bootloader. I just would like to know if there is anyway possible to fix this. I can't even put a case on the device because doing so cause the phone to turn off in my pocket.

The only thing you could do is to take it apart and search for the problem and then eventually replace the defected part
If you have the AT&T version, you'd be better off in that forum, this is for the Tegra version.
I'm.sure the States has consumer protection law, it's clearly a hardware defect. Put stock ROM and whatever else on it and insist your retailer deal.with the problem.

HTC has international warranty, but not sure it if covers US or not.
I can have a warranty in Turkey for devices which are bought in the EU. Better check with HTC support.

The warranty for all HTC devices is as thekillingroad mentioned is "INTERNATIONAL" and should cover the US as well. I had a problem with mine as well, a different one, but if it wasn't for the warranty provided by the carrier I've bought the device from I would've sent it in service under HTC's warranty.
You just have to contact HTC CS and they'll tell you the procedure you have to follow.
I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the repair my device received as it came back with more defects the than it was sent in with and contacted them by phone and afterwards got a complete replacement.
My advice: don't even hesitate to give them a call.
Best of luck.

If all else fails invest in a couple of guitar plectrums and take the whole screen out, then reseat it. Plenty of YouTube vids showing how to do this.

Hello every one,
I bought a Htc One X couple of weeks ago. The phone didn't had any warranty with it. The problem started right from the beginning, i had a faulty device which had a WiFi signal issue. Later i found out that, the camera lens went kaput and i wasn't able to adjust my focus. Now, a mild l screen Flicker started when the phone is on full brightness. After all thesw issues i decided to sell off my one x at a lower price and move on to another device. Even within a couple of weeks i grew fond of this forum. And i am very sad to leave. But, i have to do what i have to do.
My request is, can you please suggest any phone with a good all round performance and good xda dev support and is in the same league as Htc one x?
Thank you so much guys.

Maybe you can specify a price range. Go and look the Nexus 4. If you like the screen - it's a good choice. And the price is tempting.

Seeing that you live in India, the nexus 4 is the best option among the three. You may even sell the one x at about 20000rs and have to pay only 5000 for the N4
Ps - I think phone comparison threads are not allowed on Xda.

I do consider it comparing between two phones but I assure you that n4 will get longer Dev support. Just take the example of the earlier nexus which still has a great Dev community.

My HOX is slowly getting more and more problems, and I too am thinking about switching to another phone. If you want dev support, the Nexus 4 probably has the best xda dev support of any phone ever, and you can expect it to last a looooong time. I'm currently looking at the Xperia ZR (which is available in India) it certainly won't get much for dev support but it looks like a really solid phone with great battery life (much better than N4 but with the same CPU/GPU combo) that's just my 2 cents though. Sony isn't great about updates but as long as they are better and more straightforward than HTC then I will be happy.
Oppo find 5 without a doubt. Maybe the price is a little higher but the screen is much better! And the design is beautiful something you can not say of the N4
