if u give it another month or so then u might start to see some good deals going around, specially drop in prize for the 64 gig, i woudnt trust ebay too much as it has a big reputation of being scammed with phony memory cards and they dont have a very well built system, not like before where u could trust the seller now u cant even trust anyone on ebay.......but like they said if ure lucky u might just come across 1.
confused????
Im getting galaxy s3 today. I been reading threads and searching within the tread but someone say something some one else says something else. so Im confused! especially since im noob. Which one is it for god sake!!! lol
Q. Which is class is better? I hear on other threads a class 2 or 4 is good but a class 6 and 10 is not necessary because for a higher speed the manufacturer use the randoms speeds, access speeds to make it faster. That class 10 don't necessarily means better, class 10 is too fast for for the phone that it will freeze or ppl having problems. You need a class6 for apps2sd or Data2sd.
So im thinking a class 6 would be good for me since I use apps2sd alot, roms, I will download some music, vids and movies. 32gb class 6 SanDisk - Mobile Ultra 32GB microSDHC Class 6 Memory Card bestbuy sale 4 $30 has anyone body tried it?
Can someone who really knows tech stuff about sd cards answer plz
Thank you, sorry for all the questions...

Hey neighbor, great choice on the S3, congrats! Apps2sd doesnt work on the S3, instead look into these links: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ight=app2extsd or even https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en Dont forget to hit thanks if thats what you are looking for...
I also use a 32GB Class 10 card, I feel 64GB a bit of an overkill.

I need to buy a 64GB. Do those links actually answer the part of his question concerning the actual class/speed the phone can even use?
Also, I'm now assuming higher class=faster?
.FLAC man...... SO MUCH SPACE. It took me all of 2 hours to fill the ~28 gigs actually availible to me.

lolz why do u think i went with the class 10 64 gig, because 32 gigs isnt enought, specially for nandroids and games etc that use large amount of files, someone said it was overkill well i beg o differ, when it comes to downloading large files nothing is overkill specially with a smart phone.....

Basically, stay away from the cheap eBay auctions for them. You'll often get a fake-brand claiming to be SanDisk, but it's really not.
Stick with legit SanDisk or Transcend.
Amazon and Newegg have had some good deals.
AData has a true class 10 speed with 32GB. I use it on my Cowon J3 music player. It's very fast, faster than the Lexar Class 10 that I have.

I'm curious: where would we see the advantage of a Class 10 card on our phones? Outside of copying files to/from them faster, I'm not sure there's anything we're doing on them that would benefit from it. Anything concrete anyone can suggest that I'm not thinking of? The photos aren't anywhere high-res enough to require it, and the camera's not capable of taking them in a fast enough burst mode to need it, and I'm assuming even the 1080p video capture doesn't need it or Samsung would have had an * in their advertising to let us know. So that leaves me to assume I could probably save some money on a lower class and be just as happy...

Transcend cards are great. I use them in my dslr when i film. I can not be let down when im in the middle of a production.
Class 6-class 10 will be good enough for the phone. A class 6 16gb I've read has the best overall speeds
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Class 6 will do just fine. The extra expense of the Class 10 is not worth it right now. As a previous poster hinted to, the phone does not do anything fast enough to take advantage of the full Class 10 speeds.
It might help for initial file transfers if you transfer Movies to it or something like that, but how often do you really do that?

Okay Thanks... should be easier to find that lol. But I don't, I just like the best of the best p
I have also looked around the net quite a bit regarding this issue (is how I came to my conclusion above). One more thing I would like to add is to make sure you buy Retail or from a known good supplier to be safe ... like Newegg... not Ebay or Amazon.
Most quality brand name cards will perform their benchmark tests at or above their ratings. This is why Class 6 is good enough for our uses right now until something better than 10 drops and pushes the 10's down in price. (Look to the future whenever you can get a deal)
Here is Sandisk's information on classes:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/d...speed-ratings-(performance)-for-sd/sdhc-cards
I doubt the cameras on our phones are recording at more than 6MB/s.
I would love to see some stats on this though.. you know, in case I'm wrong.
(which I don't think I am)

It's not all about the class rating.
Nothing can beat the Sandisk cards on random read and write speeds.
I just bought 2 for 18.48 each..thanks for the tip!
As fast as this phone is, it doesnt matter what class card you use; also, just tweak the read ahead speed with rom toolbox or one of the other programs that tweaks that, and you will never know the difference between a class 4 and anything else...

It's UHS-1 - Class 10.

From working for Sprint and from personal experience, I've found that a Class 10 is better for taking pictures with the camera and for file transfers, but with your phone (especially this model), it would appear the most efficient way to manage your data would be to store media (music, videos, backups obviously) on the external sd, and to allowed internal storage to be used for taking pictures. If you do this, Class 6 is perfectly sufficient for media playback.
And if you're worried about your pictures being lost in the event of a phone catastrophe, Google+ or Dropbox or anothr of the auto-backup services you can use for free are perfect!

What do u need it for?? Gaming or fast file transfer?? Its already been explain in the link u gav n the thread i ask u to look up had already shows a few people running it for their own personal reason. I personally like sandisk. As for the class i'd go for class 6. It kinda balance out the gaming n the fast file transfer. But thats me.

WRONG!! Class 10 is VERY high transfer speed where as low numbers lag like s***
Trust me, I've wasted 20 bucks on a 32GB Class 1 SDHC card and it was so slow it's not even funny, and almost nothing could read the card either, out of 6 computers in the house AND a 3DS 1 computer could read it and the 3DS said that it was not fast enough and refused to use it at all. I don't know where you heard that high class cards lag but that's wrong as there IS a VERY NOTICEABLE difference in speed between the 8GB Class 2 the XPlay shipped with and a Class 10 card and the Class 10 is WAY faster.
Proof! and More proof!
Hav u tried any HD games yet?? I think the lag he meant is for gaming. Just curious.
Kindly Hit Thanks Button if i've help u in anyway.
Lag for any situation is EXACTLY the same based on the read/write speed of the micro sd card meaning games all lag if you have a low class card and are faster with a high class. The faster the read speed of the card the faster the game is regardless of the game.

It's not available in all countries so check it out!

Yeah, there are. I remember back in the days I would buy fake chinese memory cards for my PSP. They were so incredibly cheap.
For my phone I want the real deal though, don't want to lose the pictures and the data, as for the PSP there were only ISO's on there.
(FYI; the fake ones still work, even after 7 years of which they were used constantly for 5 years)

Not bad! Although personally I would rather spend a little more and get 32gb in one card rather than having 2 to switch between. I have this card which is a pretty sweet deal! http://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-SDSDQM-032G-B35A-microSDHC-32GB-Card/dp/B003HIWHN0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357931510&sr=8-1

Yeah, so do I but I figured there are some people out there that only need about 32GBs of storage (16+16, in theory that is - haha).
It's a pretty sweet deal for those people IMO.

got some weeks ago a 32gb class 10 (ums-1) micro sd card from sandisk, for my note 10.1, works flawlessly and is pretty fast. The price was 21,99€, what is actually pretty cheap here in germany^^

I've got a Class 4 TDK 32GB one at the moment. Picked it up for 25 euros in a Media Markt here in Belgium, it was one of the best deals there was at the time.
Sucks that we have this extra 'Data Copy Tax' that makes storage so much more expensive in Belgium!
