Sprint free extended battery question. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Is the extended battery offer shown on Sprint's website only online, or are there other ways to get it? I want to go in store to buy my Nexus, but I want the battery. I don't have to get it immediately with the phone, but I still want it. If there's any other ways so that I can get the phone, that would be great.
Also, to anyone who's gotten it, how's batter life on it compared to stock battery life?

Recommend a good old phone/good battery

Can you guys recommend me a good/older phone with a full keyboard and has a good battery life? I'm looking into the samsung rant,or even the lg lotus (which I had and was pretty decent).I'm seriously thinking of switching back to an older phone from this Epic.
Reason being; I need more battery life.I've tried all the tricks to get more battery life.but none work or they might work but make my phone not stable.
I'm kind of looking into a 3500 mah battery off ebay but don't know yet.

Dude don't downgrade. You should try the monster battery first. Out of curiousity what kind of discharge times are we talkin here? I get at least 20-24 hours with somewhat moderate use.
Cd's or tapes?

Check out RandomROM 2.3.4. I'm on EG22 w/ the EG22 kernel, and as of now, I have 67% battery with almost 7 hours usage, and I haven't used superfreeze yet. Definitely worth a try.

Not without cloning your esn. Which is illegal. You can switch between them but you have to activate each time.

Thanks for the eg22 rom recommendation.I've tried alll roms though.but when I try a rom that requires an undervolted kernel or tweaks to get the most battery life,I get problems.sometimes camera doesn't work.I'll get random fc's .and this is very important to me.sometimes ill be stuck with no phone due to this. Like I said ill be getting the 3500 mah battery tomorrow.so hopefully it does a lil somethin good ,and ill be posting a review shortly (hopefully a good one).
Thanks!

Yes please tell me how this works out. I've tweaked mine and get a solid 8 hours of heavy use. More if I spread my blows. I did so many configs with apps on stock ec05 that I will just guess when I update it to latest soon. I can use an extra 4 hours if not more and looking into ebay soon. 8 bucks is hard to beat for that. 2 extra for a case to it to.
I'm sleep posting! Sh

Yeah man,im expecting it tomorrow,so hopefully it works for me.the major issue for me,was that I can't get a simple gps directional use without wasting half the battery on that.
Plus, when I go to "music festivals" aka raves.I/ most of the people there tend to get horrible signal.u can't risk getting lost and without signal there.
Or
When u really need to make a call.emergency calls.u wouldn't be able to dial out cause of bad phone battery life.
..
I payed like 8 bucks free shipping off a seller from texas for the 3500 mah battery plus battery cover.ill let u know what's up with that. Way faster shipping for about the same price u can get it off a hong kong seller.no offense to china.lol.

I haven't plugged it in since it got unplugged....if I hadn't used youtube I'm sure it woulda been at like 75ish or 80 percent...
I also bought a magnetic fish eye lens off ebay.its pretty sick for 14 bucks off china.lol..

That's pretty terrible even if it's not conditioned yet. Especially because it sounds like you have only light use. You may want to take it back and replace the battery. Either that or you're in an area with terrible signal.

Take it back and get a new one. I just bought one on friday and even with heavy use my battery has lasted 20+ hours.
Sounds like a bad battery then. Happened to me on another phone. I just asked for a new battery and they gave it to me no problem.
I don't even have full bars and I get a minimum of 12 hours on pretty semi heavy use. I don't use wifi and I get at least 3-3.5 hours of screen on time.

Basically you shouldn't have to worry about battery life if your only using the phone "normally".....

A sales only store is unlikely to have any batteries on hand, we hoard a ton of new and used ones at my store, but we're a repair store...we're always getting folks coming from sales only stores for batteries.

Excellent news, glad it worked out. Where did you end up getting your battery? And if you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back?
Apps like Facebook would drain my battery really fast. I use friendcaster now. Also make sure your not using the wireless location in the gps setting.

Please help me with my Nexus

How do I get this phone to hold a charge for a day? Right now I get about 6 hours of battery life if I am lucky on decent use.
It is rooted on a black ice rom, running that Franco kernel. Is there something that I am not doing? Do I have to overclock it or?
I seriously almost traded it it for an iPhone just because of the battery issue. Like, it drives me insane and it takes away my freedom lol
Any help would be great
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
if you're only getting 6 hours, then you're a heavy user. Not much you can do about that, except use your phone less or charge it more.
Run stock for a while...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'm on sprint and out of the box it was bad bad battery life. I'm sticking with it though hoping someone comes up with a way to get better life out of it.
Use an app like CPUSpy to see if your CPU is ever going into Deep Sleep mode, and an app like BetterBatteryStats to figure out why not. You can also look at Settings > Battery to see what's using up your battery. Tapping the graph at the top may give you more details.
I really am not a heavy user.
So switch it back to stock?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Usage varies man .. i have decent battery life so far with Franco 185 linaro with AOKP linaro rom. I keep the governor set to conservative . And I do overclock as much as I can ...might even be better if I didn't do that . But I get around 10- 14 hours on that setup . I text a good bit and twitter occasionally but spend most of my time on flud news reader. If you stream music all day or Netflix or something then you aren't going to get great battery life .
Make sure your screen brightness isn't high when you don't need it to be ..since the screen is generally what uses the most battery .
My best battery was with lean kernel and slim rom 4 ...but since I went to this new linaro I will forfeit a little battery for fluidity.
The key is just to experiment. There are lots of combos out there and they all work differently for us. There isn't exactly a one stop solution . Just tinker and you will find the light
Ps: I have the 2200 extended battery from Verizon . It is a necessity if you wanna get normal usage. They are listed at forty bucks or something through Verizon ...but if you go to the store they sell them for 20.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Best solution would be to get an extended battery to last you the whole day or an extra cheap one to swap with at the middle of the day
What is your screen on time?

Yes, do this before blaming the phone. Also pay attention to the apps you install and see if any of them are causing the problem. Stock roms are usually less buggy than custom roms.
You would also get more help with your Question in the actual Q&A section.

And I just noticed that my brightness was half way lol.
And that battery idea is good. I will just get an extra one and keep it in my wallet.

Note 2 horrbile battery drain

Yo!
I hope im posting this in the right thread. Im experiencing bad battery drainage. I will charge my phone at least 3 times a day. Once fully charged it will last usually 2 hours if im on it off and on. Until it hits 30% then it will turn my radio off, and i will have no connection. So i restart my phone and it will come back on with 2%! UGH! Ive tried conditioning my battery by draining completely and charging completely. Maybe its a lemon, i dunno. So has anyone out there experienced this same issue?
Thank you for any info i can get!

What ROM are you using? Stock or custom kernel? If custom kernel which one?
Mostly sounds like a bad battery to me. This has been showing up more often over the past couple of months. This device has gotten up in age and the batteries are giving out. Even users who have only had the device for a few months have seen this happening. While the purchase of the device maybe recent there is a good chance it has been sitting around at the store or a warehouse for a while.

Nope this is just a stock phone for the moment. So nothing special about this phone.
Yeah that what I though too. This phone is 2 years old and so is the battery. Time to root it and buy a new battery. Thanx for the incite!

If you want to save a few steps I suggest skipping rooting. Just Odin a custom recovery then flash a custom ROM. All custom ROMs are rooted already so the only reason you would need to root is if you plan on sticking with the stock ROM.

I am still running original battery so not sure about any replacements. Although the normal philosophy applies buy cheap get cheap. Not saying buy the most expensive is best but those $5 Chinese batteries are never a good option.
