Go to phone menu > settings.
Select ‘Apps’
Go to the list with all apps.
Select ‘Google Play Store’ or ‘Android Market’
Press ‘Clear Cache’, ‘Force Stop’ and ‘Clear data’ at the sequential order which is mentioned.
Open the Play Store and Try to download the app again.
Here's how I solved Google Play Error 481! Thanks to this article at appslova.com! Visit here more detailed description/tutorial.

I've tried just about every flash and apk on this forum and I cannot get this to work! I'm using the old market right now, but for some reason I can't purchase apps. Does anyone know any surefire ways to put the new market onto my g2? I'm running CM6.1.1 btw.

That 15 minute window is so ridiculous. Yesterday I bought need for speed and it took the whole 15 min window just to download the extra crap for it before playing...what if I wasn't satisfied after?! Luckily I was lol and only 99 cents.
But anyway, for market: the way I got the new one to work was using the flashable gapps with market fix and wiping cache and dalvik cache before flashing.

What went wrong with my whatsapp (see screenshot)? On sense roms it didn't use that much space. Since mild wild, I had this with every version. I also constantly get sort of fc errors when opening the app, with the options close, wait and report.

I have, but it is stored on the sd card. I've already tested that.
What about the fc errors ?

It is very strange.
Have you try to delete the cache and the "database" folder with a file explorer?
T
Make a backup and re-install app.

Yes i have, also tried making backup and reinstall. I even tried this:
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/off-topic-forum/15846-tips-how-reduce-memory-usage-whatsapp.html
But all with no result
I think this huge amount of memory, is what is causing the fc problems. So i really need to fix this. The fc errors are really starting to annoy me..... Anyone
I backed up all of my pics and vids in the DCIM folder this morning. Yet Storage still shows I have 1.27 Gigs of pics and vids. What gives? Any ideas?

I have rebooted 3 or 4 times hehe.. still shows up though,
find "media storage" app in setting->apps on the phone, then delete cache, data, everything you can, then reboot.

Solved. I didn't use your method, but thanks for the suggestion though. I decided to browse the pictures folder in /sdcard, and when I got into .thumbnails, I immediately see the culprit:
Those .thumbdata files, combined, would result to at least 1,1 GB. But after deleting those files, my available space remains the same (see first post).
So I guess it's Android's indexing fault that caused the confusion.
No problem I'll remember this method, thanks for posting your fix

You're welcome.
I'm getting this error whilst trying to download new apps from the play store. It's letting me download updates just not new apps, and as you can see I have plenty of storage space.
I did a few searches but was unable to come up with a solution. I've tried wiping cache and dalvik, fixing permissions, wiping play store data, and wiping Google services framework data. No joy...
Any other ideas?

I am getting this message too and I have even done the swap of internal and external memory.
This is an old problem with the market. Let the market update and try again. Sometimes clearing cache in recovery fixes it.

It's not Google it's LGs Voice Mate. Yeah it's pretty annoying. Had this problem this morning too but it only started to download when I connected to wifi.

Mine is downloading over 4G how to stop or disable it tho ?
You can't it starts on its own. It's really, really annoying. I tried disabling this but can't. I guess we'll have to root the thing before we can finally get rid of this "feature"
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I got it to stop downloading by disabling download manager.
But you need to enable it again if you want to download apps from the play store.

I had same problem
I fixed it this way: Settings -> applications -> all -> Download manager -> remove data and clean cache.
After while downloads success
I had the same problem, it will only download over WiFi, until then you have this notification.
Clearing Download Manager data and cache or killing the process is only a temporary solution.
Same problem...But,it will download eventually! No worries... Just take it easy, sit back, watch some movie and by the time you think it is not done it will be over
